IPhone deleted my photos

I was taking a picture with my IPhone and the screen went black and kicked me back to the main screen. When I went back into my Photos there were a lot of them missing. I only 22 photos left and the ones I had just taken were not there either. I used to have about 170 photos in the album.
Does anyone know how I can get these photos back ??

You should be importing your camera roll pics to your computer regularly. Camera Roll is temporary storage for photos taken with iphone.
Camera Roll photos are part of the backup that itunes performs when syncing. You could try restoring from the last backup you have ( assuming the pics where on the iphone when you last synced).
Otherwise, they are gone.
Sorry.
Hope the restore gets them back.
If it does, then import them to your computer and included them in your regular backup of your computer.

  • How to recover iPhone deleted/lost photos?

I accident delete photo on my iPhone 5,ti it possible to recover deleted Photo from iPhone 5,I never sync my iPhone to iTunes.I often take photo with iPhone,I want to know is it be covered by new pictures, any way to recover iPhone 5 photo directly?

I am so sorry to know that you deleted your photos. But it is not necessary to worry about this. Once you deleted photos from your iPhone, you should not use your iPhone anymore before you recover the lost pictures. Backup photos and other data to iTunes is the best way to avoid data loss from your iPhone.
As I know you did not backup them to iTunes. However, you can still recover them, but the process may be a little complicated. And if you have backup the photos before, it is much easier. With this data recovery for iPhone, you can extract the photos from your iTunes backup files selectively. No need to connect you iPhone to computer, therefore, even you iPhone is broken or stolen, you can recover your iPhone deleted photos.

  • IPhone deleting my photos

    Hey guys!
So, the problem is, that when ever my iPhone turns off (whether just from low battery or restarting) it deletes all taken photos - on phone they shows in a really low quality (looks like a 8bit game) and on computer they shows as non existing file. Went to the local reseller shop (our country does not have an apple store), but they did not know what to do or why could it be. So I hope maybe anyone of you could help.. is it just a bug or phone problem, or what? And what to do?
    Thanks anyway

Hi. First thing you can do is to restore it to factory defaults. Make sure to have a back up of your contacts and everything. Next is to try upgrading the IOS if applicable.
    Hope this helps.

  • Iphone deleting wrong photos

I was deleting photos from my iphone 5 camera roll.  Instead of deleting the onscreen image it deleted the one to the right.  Unfortunately it took me awhile to catch on.

This happened to me as well. Trying to delete a picture of my feet, the image kept appearing, After I deleted it three times, it turned out that I deleted 2 unique photos I really wanted to keep. I tried different recovery tools and nothing has worked.

Apple should really just have a trashcan option from which you can undelete

  • I have a 3g iphone and I need to know how to delete old photos from my phone!! I need the space but there is no way to delete the pictures!! Help!!!

I have a 3g iPhone and I need to know how to delete old photos. Need to free up space and there is no clear way to delete these photos!! Can someone please let me know how to get rid of these pictures!!!! Help!!!

There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll.  One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom.  Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

  • How do i delete my photo library from my iphone 4?

My computer downloaded my entire photo library to my iPhone 4s & I'm almost out of storage space.  As far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the photo library from the phone itself; I have tried.
I have gone into iTunes library to delete it from there, but I don't have a "photo" option.  I clicked on all of the other choices on the tab in the upper left-hand corner: Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Apps, & Tones.  None of these options have anything related to photos or photo libraries.
I have cleared my "My Pictures" folder on my PC and re-synched the phone; that didn't work either.  I've gone through everything under the "Settings" tab on the phone itself, but to no avail.
I'm almost to the point where I just want to take my phone to the wireless provider and have them wipe everything out and reset the phone back to its original settings, but I'm thinking there's GOT to be an easier way to solve this problem.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance...

Yes there is and if you are unable to via the iTunes sync process, there is a problem.
I have gone into iTunes library to delete it from there, but I don't have a "photo" option.
Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are not stored in your iTunes library. iTunes serves as the transfer conduit only between the location on your computer's hard drive where the selected photos are stored and your iPhone.
This is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If all photos that were transferred from your computer to your iPhone are not removed from the iPhone after deselecting Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync, try creating a new folder on your computer's hard drive that will remain empty. Select this empty folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes instead of your My Pictures folder followed by a sync.

You don't need to take the iPhone anywhere to do this ends up being needed. You can erase all data and settings direct on the iPhone at Settings > General > Reset which will erase everything but the iOS version installed and the included apps, or you can restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer as a new iPhone or not from the backup.

  • I was backing up my iPhone and importing photos onto iPhoto at the same time , then suddenly it says no more space available (i had 48GB before i do this and now i have 18GB) i can't find the back up or the photo anywhere , how can i delete them ?

Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown asBackups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Reboot and it should go away.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

If you have copied them to your computer, then you will be OK.  Just deselect the photos when you sync.

  • If I reset/restore my old iPhone 4 for my sister to use, will it delete the photos in the photo stream on the phone from iPhoto on my macbook?

I want to delete everything off the phone but don't want the photo stream to update on the mac and delete the photos saved on it from the iPhone 4.
    Thanks

If you proceed like described above, your Photo Stream should not be erased in iCloud, but it would be safer to download all Photo Stream photos to events on your Mac.

  • I download apps directly to my iphone.  When I sync with my laptop, how do I avoid having sync delete apps, photos, songs downloaded on my iphone?

I download apps directly to my iphone.  When I sync with my laptop, how do I avoid having sync delete apps, photos/vdeos, songs downloaded on my iphone?

If you are syncing to the same computer that you always sync to, and have each of the items in itunes that you want synced then you shouldnt have an issue. The only way you would have an app come off your phone is if you uncheck that app from syncing in th apps location in itunes.

  • How can I delete a photo folder from my iphone 4s?

how can I delete a photo folder from my iphone 4s?

    Hey Ravengirlaa,
Great question! The answer is going to depend on how the photos were originally organized:
    A) The albums were synced to your iPhone from iTunes
    B) The albums were manually created on your iPhone from photos in the Camera Roll
The following excerpt would apply for situation B:
excerpt from page 71 of the iPhone User Guide - http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
If the photos were synced from your computer, please refer to this article (section "To delete photos and videos from your device"):
