IPhone deletes new emails as soon as I click on them

Lately when I've been receiving new emails, as soon as I click on them the iPhone immediately deleted it and opens a prior email instead. The new email that it just deleted is not in my junk or trash folders and when I log into my email account in my computer it is nowhere to be foun as well. Also, when I do a search in my email for certain emails, the email I'm looking for will show up for a brief second and then disappear. Seperate issue but allllmost as irritating as the fact that some of my emails are deleted for no reason!

hello dariaa, unfortunately this sounds like a problem with adware/malware that is active on your system. please perform all these steps:
# [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
# afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
# finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

First go to mail preferences>accounts>mailbox behavior and under trash click "move deleted messages to the trash mailbox, the delete them from there.
Also got to your Yahoo mail and check your settings there.

Deleted emails keep showing up on Iphone as new emails

Recently I have been having some trouble with my email on my iPhone. Emails that I have deleted keep showing up in my inbox as new emails. It's random too. Sometimes it's 2 emails and sometimes it's 25. Its getting kind of annoying. I even tried deleting everything in the trash folder. Any suggestions?

That's happening to me, too. Apparently, it's a problem with the update. I have been talking with an apple tech supervisor. he is nice, but has no suggestions. i went to the "genus" bar at the apple store. The "genus" there said to live with it, get a new phone, or just wait for a patch--which he admitted may never happen.
I have gone to my email acct. and i delete all the messages in it twice a day. it's a pain, but it keeps all of those messages coming through. have you found a solution?

IPhone deletes MobileMe email on its own

I first noticed the problem last week. I open up Mail on my iPhone, it checks Mobile Me for new messages, they start to download and I saw a number of emails fleetingly appear before my eyes and immediately thereafter vanish without a trace. Today it had to be the most important email I was waiting for didn't it? And it was. I saw it briefly, again for all of a second, and then it was gone forever.
No trace of the emails to be found in Trash or Junk. Gone.
I found another, closed thread relating to Yahoo Mail and people who encountered this error. But this was Apple's Mobile Me service. I've even checked my mail via me.com, no luck. It's like the message never existed but I know it did.
Ideas? Help? And why did it bypass the trash for goodness' sake? If it had dumped it there because of some bug I could have rescued it. But to wipe it totally? Man, that's one nasty bug.

No. I was accessing my me.com email nowhere else at the times this happened, as it has happened again since my original post above. I have switched off email on my iPhone until this is resolved, I can't afford to have emails going like that.
And bear in mind, whether you access elsewhere or not is somewhat irrelevant when talking about MobileMe accounts as they are supposed to keep in sync, meaning if I download an email to my MB Pro it will appear in my inbox on iPhone or iMac as well. Unless of course you move or delete the email, which I didn't.
Before switching off email on my iPhone as an emergency response I tried changing the settings to confirm deletions before going ahead. That was completely ignored by the iPhone, which went ahead and deleted another email all on its own thereafter.
I have never had the problems with emails other have had before now. Could an installed third-party app impact on the Mail app in any way at all? I have installed a few apps along the way but was thinking, could something installed in the past fortnight, say, be a cause?

I have a new laptop.I can get my old imported emails but not new emails. where do i go to find them.

I used to have Outlook on my old laptop. I have a new laptop and have installed Mozilla Thunderbird for my emails. My IT friend put all my emails from my old laptop onto a memory stick and then imported them onto my new laptop with your Mozilla Thunderbird. I can now see all my old emails that were imported from the old laptop but i can`t seem to find where my new emails are located when i open up the Mozilla Thunderbird. Hope you can help. Thanks

I'd assume your Outlook email messages now appear underneath the 'Local Folders' account in Thunderbird. Is that correct?

Cannot click directly on a new email in Mail without first clicking on title bar.

I am on Mountain Lion. I frequently have Mail.app open on a second screen. When a new mail arrives I want to click on the email to read it. However, since ML, I first have to click on the frame or title of the Mail.app to bring the focus to Mail.app. I cannot directly click on anything inside the mail.app window. This is very annoying. Anybody else can reproduce this behaviour?

IPhone Deletes Exchange Emails To Wrong Folder

Hello all!
I have a Microsoft Exchange mail account setup on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) which works wonderfully, short of one aspect: Emails deleted from my phone do not go to the accounts standard 'Trash' folder, but to a different 'Deleted' folder. I can see no way to change this setting. Any ideas?

Thanks Templeton. This is the only definitive answer I've found anywhere. Turns out my iPhone was correct and my other email clients are sending to the wrong folder!

Did you restore your new iPhone 4 from the backup of your iPhone 3? Did you make a current backup of your iPhone 3 BEFORE restoring this backup to your iPhone 4? Photos in your camera roll are included in the iPhone backup, but they must be in that backup in order to restore them to your new phone.

I changed my email address for my iCloud account but it isn't updating on my iPhone or ipad. Now I can't seem to get text messages to sent by iMessage and having trouble getting emails on iPad. How do you update the settings on these devices to the new iCloud Id (email address)?

The iCloud backup is storing your Camera roll photos, but you can only use it to restore the iPhone. See: iCloud: Backup and restore overview
Either connect the iPhone to a USB port and download your Camera Roll directly to iPhoto or Aperture, or enable the Photo Stream on your iPhone and on your mac. Is there any way to retrieve them from iCloud? Or does it it only archive mails that use those stupido icloud mails addresses?

S*it. Lost all my customers emails and info from 5 years.... Thought it backed those up. Wonder why it deleted one account mails yesterday from both of my idevices. Rest are intact.
And have limited email space on my emails so uses pop3 and it deletes from server. Only about 5x200mb there *sigh*

If they are coming to your iCloud address you could go to the iCloud website, go to the Mail page, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left, choose 'Rules' and set up a Rule to move all messages from [email protected] to another folder you previously created, or the Trash. If they are coming to a non-Apple address you can do the same thing in the Mail app on your Mac (presumably also on mobile devices though I don't know about that).

Iphone deletes email by itself

I have an iphone 3G and access my imap email account. All has been fine until this morning when all of a sudden the iphone deleted all emails that have been read on either the phone or the mac. They remain however on the mac in the email account inbox shown as being read.
Cannot find any setting anywhere on the (phone) email account settings relating to this so would appreciate any ideas on what is going on and how to solve (revert) it.

I am also looking for a way purge the email addy autofill of old contacts that no longer exist. Many a family and friends have since changed their E-mail addy's, I have deleted their old addy's from contacts, yet the iPhone autofill still manages to hang on to those in some stored cache that is NOT accessible to purge or delete! This is something I've struggled with regarding the iPhone since my first iPhone months after it originally released years ago, have since owned a few other iPhones as they progressed, currently an iPhone 4, on os 4.01, same issue persists. Have restored my phones, started from new during some restores, etc, those old defunct E-mail addy's still autofill!
I sync with my iMac yet do not even have my mail client set up on the iMac, never have since we bought the iMAc, web based E-mail only, so this issue has nothing to do with mail client on the computer it syncs to.
It would be nice if someone from Apple would reply with acknowledgment that they are indeed aware of this and hopefully it is on their to-do list.
