IPhone Dev Subscription

Hello AnyBody,
I am live in India. I am an iPhone developer. I need an iPhone Dev account for individual developing iPhone application. Is this possible from here. If its is possible how can i do it. Please guide for me.
Nalan.

Hi there. It costs $99 USD (or £59 GBP) if you wish to do on-device testing and release the app to the Appstore.
(I still find it remarkeble that so many users are able to sign up and post on the discussion forums, but cannot do a simple Google search to learn about iPhone development enrolment!).

  • When can I expect the activation email (iPhone dev)?

    Hi,
Very excited to submit two apps I've been working on in recent weeks for AppStore consideration.
I've already registered and made the $99 payment, and am awaiting what I'm assuming is an activation email. Any idea when I should expect to receive mine?
    Thanks!

how did you make the payment? All I got was an email saying:
"Thank you for submitting your information.
While we process your information, please visit the iPhone Dev Center to download the iPhone SDK and access a wealth of technical resources. Please note, the iPhone Developer Program will initially be available to a limited number of developers and will expand in the coming months.
    Next Steps
You will receive notification of your enrollment status. Enrollment ID XXX"
is there anything I can do but wait?

  • IPhone Dev Certification problem (strange number following the common name)

    Hi,
I have requested a certification for my iPhone Dev.
After I downloaded from dev center portal, I found that the certification approved by Team Admin
    is like that:
iPhone Developer: FirstName LastName (Strange Number)
I didn't input such number while requesting the Certification. Does anyone know where is the number from? And could this number cause any problem in my further signing process?
Why I worry about my certification is I got some error in XCode Organizer like:
A signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain
when I installed my provision file with that certification in Xcode.
I suspect that the strange certification cause the problem.
    Any suggestion about it?
    Thanks,
    Jack

This is exactly what happens when sharing a single Apple ID for iCloud and iMessage.  Why would you expect any different?

  • IPhone Dev Center Temporarily Unavailable?

I've been trying for almost 3 days to download my iPhone developer cert. Whenever I click the download button, I get
    iPhone Dev Center Temporarily Unavailable
Anyone know what is going on, or when it will be available again?
    Thanks.

Here is what I have pieced together. First, I have opened up several tickets with support and I encourage all of you to open a ticket every time you get the error.
    • I am behind a corporate firewall & proxy configuration. I have IE 7 & FireFox 3 on both my desktop and laptop.
    • I have no issues logging into the MAC ADC, the issue is just with the iPhone dev center
    • I have no issues logging into: MSDN, IBM, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, ebay, amazon, etc. the list goes on. This is literally the only place I am having issues
    • I can login to the iPhone dev center from a sprint wireless adapter on the laptop with no proxy or firewall (not a good thing for a corp laptop, but I did it to validate my hypothesis)
    • I cannot login consistently at home, where I have Vista, plus the standard arsenal of firewalls and routers with NAT.
    • A little research on the net revealed that there are many more, especially within corporate environments, that are having this issue.
    • It appears that there is a process that uses IP address verification (not confirmed, but that would not work well in a proxy/FW corp environement.)
    • Tech support provided me with the 1990’s standard fix approach to clear cookies and cache (huh???) if the iPhone dev center needs cookies and cache cleared (for real) then there is something very odd going on with the technology they are using. “1995 called and they want their standard browser fix back”
I am hoping that this can be resolved so that my developers can be productive at work rather than having to get to the dev center through creative and extraordinary means.

  • IPhone Dev Center Login problem

I am encountering a persistent problem logging into iPhone dev center. After I login, the iPhone dev center just cycle me back to the login screen repeatedly.
The funny thing is, I can access Mac and Safari dev center just fine. Those recognized my iPhone dev center login. But I can't get into iPhone dev center portion.
Only happens at the office. I have seen some people posting about this by there seems to be no clear solution or work around offered yet.

I've had this problem for 2 years and never got any help from apple on it. One thing which works for me sometimes is changing from http to https. However fairly quickly I get to a link somewhere on the apple site which is http and I'm straight back to the 'login' screen again.
I suspect it's got something to do with my ISP doing everything behind a proxy server as I've never had the issue at work, not one single time.

  • Problems Accessing iPhone Dev Center Forums

Once I log into the iPhone Dev Center. I want to go the forums so I click the "Apple Developer Forums Beta" link. It seems like it does a couple redirects and then I end up at: http://developer.apple.com/
It seems to then log me out. Anyone else having problems getting to the forums?
    Thanks, Scott.

    Hi Scott -
Unlike the Apple Discussions forums, the Developer Forums Beta is only open to "iPhone Developer Program members and ADC Premier and Select Members". Info about these (paid) memberships is linked to the page you're being redirected to as well as the iPhone Dev Center home page.
If you've already been accepted into the iPhone Dev Program, but are being misdirected, try the direct forum link: [https://devforums.apple.com>.

  • Iphone podcast subscriptions

Does anyone have a favorite iphone podcast they subscribe to?
    PC   Windows XP

i agree, this would be a huge improvement. especally since i listen to 12+ podcasts, some of which update with two minute daily clips, some with hour long weekly audios. some that update randomly. it would be helpful if they instituted a similar means like they have with the app stores update section, where you can view all the latest episodes from subscriptions instead of having to go to your podcast section, click the cast, then click get new episodes for each one.
too bad that that's the type of thing that'll be for a big firmware update.

  • Iphone 4 subscription help

Will be in Cabo San Lucas for 2 months. Which subscription plan do I need for using with my IPhone 4 only. I will be calling only the us. Maybe 1 call per day @ 5-10 minutes.

I don't know where you are; it sounds like the phone may be locked to a different carrier. When you get a replacement phone it may be unlocked again, as there is a master database that Apple maintains of phones and their carriers. When you activate it queries the database to determine what carriers to enable. If the database wasn;t updated for the replacement phone you would see this problem.

I would love to own a Mac again, but because my employer usually gives out the latest new Intel processor to the team that work on the chip design, I have not bought a complete computer system in years. What would make my day is if I could install Mac OS on my Intel machine, oh well that most likely will not happen any time soon. Thanks guys for helping answer my questions.

  • Just cant login to Iphone Dev Centre

hey all, i have searched through and it seems many having such problems. I have it with my mac and PC, so what's really going on?? Anyone has any solution?

Yes I'm one of those people overseas behind a government-mandated proxy and I have this exact issue and it drives me NUTS. If I switch to https: I can get a connection going for a while (of course https isn't proxied) but there are too many links on the apple dev site which seem to be absolute links and not relative ones, you get http: again and you have to login again.
I see people behind company proxies having the same issues. Proxies aren't unusual, the site should work with them properly, is Apple going to fix this? I've been reporting these issues for nearly 2 years now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
If https works properly, then please make the site entirely relatively linked so that you stay on https and don't keep getting flipped back to http. If that doesn't work, or is impractical, please fix whatever thing it is which is causing the actual problem. I've wondered for instance whether the server is somehow looking at the IP address of the incoming connection and, when it sees that IP address again with a different user, fails it. I hope it's not really something like that as that doesn't seem awfully clever and it means that only one person in Singapore (for instance) can use the Dev Center at any one point.
I've also not found a proper forum or support address to ask about this. Developer Forums really doesn't seem the right place. Its repeatable, it's something which should have been fixed long ago.

  • Dev subscription app - Apple login fails

    Hi there,
We have a live 'multi-folio with iTunes subscription' app to which we're adding social sharing. I've created a development version using the same details as live, but with a different title ID, so we can test with different folios (there's an additional help page in the folios, explaining the sharing).
The development app installs (on a phone) ok, but when opened and the user is challenged for Apple login details (to subscribe or recover previous content) no combination of username/password is accepted, even though the same details work ok for downloading others apps etc. Have we messed something up in the rebuild, it's not something I've seen before?
      Thanks,
    Toby

Testing the developer app requires a sandbox environment user credentials instead of the actual Apple ID used to download live apps. For details on setting up test users. go here iTunes Connect Developer Guide: Setting Up User Accounts

  • How long do i have to wait for the iPhone dev license?

    Hello all..
I am waiting now for serveral weeks (6!) for my developer licence... but nothing.. no email, no response (just the autogenerated one) from apple (i wrote 2 mails yet..)
i would just like to know how long did you wait everybody? A friend of mine (and colleague) has also send the request weeks ago now.. the same: no response.. is it maybe for firms easier to get it?
i bought a macbook air and an iPhone - just do develop.. and i really have to say that i am disappointed.
i mean: we have really good ideas (at least, we think so) and are doing mobile apps also as our diploma thesis for university.. but we cant test the software without this sh.. licence.
apple, go on that way and you will lose many creative minds. we all know that your marketing is special, but this is just.. stupid. android is waiting, the opened symbian is waiting.. so, what are you doing?

  • IPhone dev newbie: please straighten out my misconceptions about ad hoc...

I have to admit I am going in circles a bit about distributions and such, and I hope somebody with more knowledge than me can correct my statements here and clarify a few basic points for me.
I'm developing a little iPhone app. It's all working fine in the simulator, and now I want to pass it on to a few people I know for testing.
I have their 40 hex digit iPhone device id numbers and I have registered their devices in the portal.
Now yesterday, what I thought happened was this:
    (1) I created a development certificate.
    (2) I created a development provisioning profile for the app for one person's device.
    (3) That person (who is also helping me develop the app) somehow installed the app on her iPhone, where it also worked.
One time she did it from within the Xcode IDE itself. Then I thought we tried her clearing the app on her iPhone, taking the binary and the provisioning profile and dragging into her iTunes applications area, synching and also installing it on her iPhone that way.
Were we both mistaken as to what actually happened? Is installing the app with a development provisioning profile via iTunes impossible? Is it necessary, for such an "ad hoc" distribution to create a distribution provisioning profile (which I haven't done yet) and build the app a different way?
Do development builds all have to be installed on the device via Xcode? Is it not possible to install apps with development provision profiles on actual devices via iTunes only?
Also, if only one distribution provisioning profile is possible, why does the panel say "Distribution Provisioning Profiles" (plural) and have a UI to add more?
As you can see, I am struggling with some of these terms and what to do.
My immediate goal is to provide a test copy of the app to somebody to try for beta testing. That person is not a developer and doesn't have Xcode installed and I would like the person to be able to take the binary and some provisioning profile (does it have to be a distribution provisioning profile?) and install it just via iTunes.
Can somebody straighten me out a bit on what is possible as far as installing development builds and distribution builds on devices?
I seem to be missing something here. I've read the 40 page iPhone Developer manual that comes with the standard program, but I am just confused about the "ad hoc" distribution business.
    Thanks,
    doug

Thanks for your note. I'm still confused though. The Entitlements.plist file is mentioned in the manual procedure. But in that procedure it also says to then go and build the project as per the instructions for distribution, which includes acquiring a distribution provisioning profile. We didn't a distribution provisioning profile at all yet, but somehow were able to make an iTunes drag-and-drop install version for the device we created a development provisioning profile for.
The tab in the portal about ad-hoc distributions, on the other hand, doesn't say anything about the Entitlements.plist.
There seems to be two completely different procedures for this (maybe there are two ways of accomplishing the same goal?)
One set of instructions seems to say I need a distribution provisioning profile and the other doesn't mention it though.
Also, I can understand why, when creating an ad-hoc provisioning profile you can check multiple devices. But what does it mean to check multiple certificates?
    Agh!
