Iphone displays incorrect time

My iphone 5 recently began reporting wrong time. It currently says APR 26, 2033  8:27am
that time/date cannot be changed to reflect current .
What is the solution?

Is "Set automatically" switched on in Settings>General>Date & Time?

  • Why is my iPhone displaying incorrect time?

    Image should explain all.
The time at the top is 8 hours behind. I can't correct it because when I go into Time, it's correct!
    Many thanks

    Hey there JonnyAustin,
It looks like your phone is showing an incorrect time but it is set correctly in Settings. I would start with quitting all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persits, I would next use the troubleshooting in the following article for additional assistance:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,

  • Acccented characters in received email on iphone display incorrectly

acccented characters in received email on iphone display incorrectly, although tehy are correct on email message displayed on PC

Normally that should not happen unless the emails have erroneous or missing "charset =" statements in their "content-type" header.  Unfortunately on the iPhone there is no way for the user to compensate for this kind of issue.  Could you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?

  • Find My iPhone and incorrect time problem

I just tried out the Find My iPhone feature on iCloud (Mac Mini) and played a sound on my iPhone just to see if it worked, which it did. My query is I immediately got an email from Apple to say a sound was played on my iPhone but the time was totally incorrect. I played the sound at 1830 hours but the email said it was played at 1030 hours (8 hours earlier).
The time on my iPhone and Mac Mini are both correct. How do I make the Find My iPhone display the correct time?
    Thank you.

That's about right,  8 hours from California time.  Check your preferences for this site
And see what your timezone is set to:

  • Dashboard clock displays incorrect time for remote cities

    Hi all,
Small issue here : I added a new clock in dashboard to display the time in Rabat, Morocco.
Unfortunately the clock is an hour off (shows 10pm when it is actually 11pm there).
I already asked the google friend, always the same answer : check your time zone in preferences, which I did.
    > My current location & time zone are correctly set (Brussels, Belgium CEST), time is correctly displayed for this location both on the desktop and in dashboard clock.
    > Tried allowing the system to determine my current time zone automatically, no change.
    > Date & time is set automatically via apple euro time server.
Does anyone know what's wrong here? Something related to daylight saving time maybe? (seems odd but I ran out of ideas.)
    Thanks a bunch,
    Nicolas

This same problem stared plaguing me as well yesterday (iPhone 5c), maybe a week after upgrading to iOS 8.3. I've tried everything (which isn't much, right?) to no avail. Among the symptoms were time and date wrong (of course) but also intermittent WiFi misbehavior (e.g., disconnects) and very sluggish response on the set Date & Time page (Settings : General : Date & Time)--when setting the "Set Automatically" slider from off to on or vice-versa it would often take many seconds to respond (and I'd swear the sliding circle looks a tiny bit elongated when stuck).
Anyway, this morning I let the power drain normally and kept it that way for a few hours. I've now plugged it back in to charge and the time has been correct for the past 45 min. and counting, so this may be a remedy. I'll check back in later today with progress.

  • IPhone sometimes displays incorrect time!

It's frustrating having to reset my iphone so that it will then display the correct time. What's causing this and is there some work-around? Otherwise, it's a rather amazing little device. Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for the link! I'll just set "automatically set time" to "off". (settings>general>date & time)
I don't travel that much, so time zones are not an issue. Perfect solution! A million thanks.

  • IPhone displaying incorrect app icons

I have an original 8GB iPhone running OS 3.0. Since I upgraded, every time I install a new app, it displays an incorrect icon. It seems that it displays the icon for the most recently deleted app. For example, I installed the Pizza Hut app, and the iPhone is displaying an icon for the msnbc app which I deleted a couple of days ago. This happened when I first installed the msnbc app, it showed an icon for a different application. I have re-booted, and re-synced, and still have the same results. Any ideas?

I had the same problem, deleted apps re-downloaded still did it, restarted the phone still did it even doing a restore still did it. the only thing that worked for me was to power the phone off not restart just off, now every app has the right icon.

  • IPhone displaying incorrect email receive date

Forgive me if I have posted in the wrong community, however this is my first post. My iphone 4 (iOS 6.0.1) has recently (over the past three days) started sporadically assigning a xx/xx/00 date to emails rather than xx/xx/12. When I open the email the date is the current date, but the receive date is not. Not all emails display the wrong receive date. My husband's iphone 4 has also started doing the same thing today; I'm not sure if it is specific to 4s or if other iphone models are also experieincing this problem. I also don't know what is causing this, and therefore how to fix it, but I would appreciate any advice or solutions from others who may have had this problem.

    Hi,
My provider is telstra but I also have a private domain. I have 4 email accounts going to my iphone, three of which belong to telstra and one to my private domain. I have no issues with my private domain only one of my bigpond email accounts. The problem is also occurring on my imac. I'm yet to check my ipad. The date on each of my devices is correct. I changed the date and time on my iphone to manual but it made no difference. My imac still has the date and time set at automatic. I'm guessing from your line of questioning that this is more likely a provider issue rather than a osx or ios issue - am I correct?

  • My calendar on my iphone displays different times than with icloud on my computer. How can I fix that?, My calendar on my iphone displays different times than with icloud on my computer. How can I fix that?

When I add an event to my calendar on my iPhone, it displays the correct time for the event. If I add it on icloud on my computer, it displays an hour later on my phone. How do I fix this?

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone.  You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone.  You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account.  iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac.  When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account.  You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar.  If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.

  • Security Monitor Events display incorrect time

I have a time issue between a 4240 sensor (5.0) and Security Monitor (2.1). The events in the sensor are correct but 7 hours off in Security Monitor, even though the VMS server understands the correct time (knows there are events in the last hour) but will not display them. After doing some research, it looks as though we needed to load CSCOids2.1.0-sol_SecMon_2_1_Service_Pack_1-6.tar right? Well I did, ran the perl script, everthing was successful. CiscoWorks shows the patch as being applied. Reloaded VMS and the sensor, and still I have what seems like a UTC problem (UTC offset always =0 yet time zone=arizona). Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Is the correct offset configured on the sensor?
Execute "show conf" and verify the value for the timezone offset. Remember that this is in minutes and not hours. If the timezone diffence is 7 hours then the value on the sensor should be 7hours*60minutes=420minutes.
Also use "show events" on the sensor to look at a few alerts on the sensor itself. It will report both the UTC/GMT time and the Local time. Verify that the offset between the 2 is correct on the sensor. (be sure to account for summertime/daylight savings time)

turn off timezone support under date and time and see if it helps

  • Iphone 5s incoming call number displays incorrectly.

Whenever I call my wife's Iphone from work, the number displays incorrectly on her caller ID.  It is always dropping the third number of the area code, so if my work number was 123-456-7890, then when I call her it shows up on her phone as 124-567-890, it doesn't even show a ten digit number.  So far I have noticed that it only happens when I call her from the landlines at my work.  I also have the exact same iphone 5s on the same carrier and the numbers display perfectly fine on my phone so I feel like it's some setting in the phone.  Before switching to an iphone we had her contacts imported from an old Verizon flip phone, not sure if that has anything to do with it.  Has anyone seen or heard of a similar issue?
    Thanks,
    Dan

By the way I have completely reset all content and settings several times, tried turning off international assist, tried several suggestions I found online dealing with the sim pin, switched to a different phone to have the same thing happen on that phone also.  I have the same exact iphone 5s and carrier and service plan and the numbers appear perfectly on my phone.  I'm so confused why this is happening.

  • Calendar Tile on Windows 8.1 displaying incorrect date for icloud calendar but date icon displays correct date on iPhone 5 and iPad Air

Calendar Tile on Windows 8.1 displaying incorrect date for icloud calendar but date icon displays correct date on iPhone 5 and iPad Air.  Date on Windows 8.1 is correct.  Thank you.

Try doing  a reset on your phone. Sounds like your carrier's time set is not getting through to your device. If the reset doesn't do it, then go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. That should do it.

  • Why is the time on my iPhone 5 incorrect?

For the past week I've had trouble with my iPhone 5 displaying the incorrect time. I've tried numerous things to fix it...
    I've:
Toggled the clock option from Automatically to Manual. After each time, the time corrects itself, but doesn't last long (yes, even on manual).
Reset my phone. The same thing happens. It corrects itself, but doesn't last long.
Restored my phone from an iCloud backup.
My last resort is to restore my phone to factory settings & see if that works, but I'm really trying to avoid that.
Additional info: I'm currently running iOS 7.1.1. My carrier is Verzion.

I've tried a few more things since I last posted...
Restored my phone to factory settings (not from a back up)
Disabled my phone's LTE. That didn't work.
I saw in this forum where someone suggested changing the name of the iPhone to anything that didn't include apostrophes. I did that at 11:32 and now it says that it's 11:36 (but it's really 11:41). So that doesn't appear to have worked either.
I'm still at a loss... I have no idea what else to try! I will probably schedule a Genius appointment this weekend. I'm hoping it is fixable and not expensive...
    Any other tips??

  • Time displayed incorrect - Belgium

    Hi there,
just upgraded to 4.2.1 software on my Iphone 4 and guess what?
Time is displayed incorrect in automatic mode.
Time is normally 10u30 and it displays 04u30 ...
    Does Apple know this already?
    Anyone else got this problem?
I manually changed the time on my Iphone, but I hope Apple come up with a fix for this, very soon!?
