IPhone doesnt sleep and then makes call while in purse

I have noticed that sometimes my wifes phone will stay on the last screen and not go to sleep and make me slide the bar to use phone again. I started looking into this when I started getting calls from her and just hearing people talking in the background. I caught it today when she came home. She sat her purse down and then the phone rang, guess who it was, the iPhone checking up on us. Not funny. She had not used the phone in almost 20 min since she called and said she was on her way home from work.
I also have noticed her battery barely making it through a day without being charged. Thats with the phone being used to call me a few times and sitting in her purse apparently on and not sleeping it turns out.
Anyone have any ideas of how to stop this. I dont want to find out she has a boyfriend from the iPhone telling on her lol...

My wife and I both have new iPhone 3Gs. This morning we got our first taste of the random "ghost" calling from her phone. It dialed my iPhone 7 times and the home phone twice in a matter of minutes. When I tried to call her it would hang up the call on its own (not drop) within a matter of seconds. Internet, text, and other features were working fine. She had full bars on AT&T. Here is the solution that we found. Power off the phone and power it back on. Hold the Sleep/Wake button down until a red power off slider appears and turn off the phone. Then turn it back on. Problem solved. I am sure that there is some reason that the phone program on the iPhone flipped out, but I don't have an explanation on that; just that powering the phone off and on solved the problem in our case. Our next step would have been a reset, but it didn't come to that.

If FaceTime ever worked properly for you, restarting your modem (and separate router/wireless if you have such) may help. If the problem continues, try connecting at a different location to see if the problem is within your wi-fi.
The black dot problem may mean you need to reset your iPod. If that does not help, it may need service by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

the problems are ALWAYS in the reverse way, when you have the newest (or a newer) version of a given app, and wish to transfer its library to an older version.

I have been using Martin Jahn’s iBackup, with which I have become accustomed and works fine. It also makes daily backups. Its advantage over other apps is that you may add whatever you wish to save, beside its default settings (which you may delete or cancel, of course, even if not recommended); it also has a friendly interface and easily customizable. Of course, this is a personal view, you may try other methods as well, or other backup apps. All are good if you are satisfied and correspond to your needs.

I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation. My computer did have the faulty part you linked to. I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager. Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge. They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test. They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above. I've never had this experience before. Even brand new, I got occasional crashes. Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow. Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed. Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...

Try this first.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, try restoring the iOS software.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

If your iPhone is still under the warranty I would contact Apple support and browse the replace or repair section. Because of the incident the iPhone should be repaired free of charge.

Almost certainly. You can use any program which does what you want: the end product has to be an .mp3 or .m4a file. After that it's a question of making the feed, either writing it yourself or more likely using a program or online service.
Audacity is a useful program, and free, and you can certainly do the sort of things you need to make a podcast. I prefer Amadeus Pro, which costs $59.99 and has recently been updated with better multi-track facilities: I always fled that Audacity was awkward to use by comparison and occasionally flaky, but we're probably splitting hairs here: it would certainly be a good place to start.

No, this problem should be solved.
The MBP shuts down when too hot, to protect itself. First see if it is a process running astray: start Activity Monitor (in Applications/Utilities) choose <all processes> and click the %CPU column: are there processes that are using more than 50% cpu power? If yes click it and quit it, and tell us which one.
