IPhone drop in water

I am living in Vietnam and  my iPhone 5S Had been dropped in water, now it is not working any more. Since in Vietnam don't have Apple store, so can i ship to Apple store in US for refurbish/repair? what is the process for that? Thank you very much

No Apple do not accept shipping in from non US source
If you purchased the iPhone in the US then you will have to return it in person if purchased elsewhere You will have to return it to the Country it originated in person for any service

I dropped my iPhone 5s in water. It was submerged for 3-4 seconds. I didn't turn it off immediately. The screen was scrambled and the I tried to turn it off. After 3 minutes, I put it in a bag of rice. What else should I do?

Did you wipe it dry before you put it in rice?
Put th bag with the phone and rice (it is raw rice?) in a cool, dry place, such as a cupboard. Leave it there for 4 - 5 days. Do not turn it on, do not connect it to power.
After the time above take it out of the bag, blow off the rice dust, make sure the Lightning connector has no rice in it. Connect it to your phone charger and let it charge for at least a half-hour. While it is still connected to power reset it. Might take several tries. If it is then working correctly fully charge it.

  • IPhone dropped in water - error code 23 after DMU - do not give up hop!

I dropped my iPhone whilst I was in the kitchen, near to the sink and it fell into a bowl which was full of water (Yes I know what you are thinking!).It was in the water for a only a second or two before I retrieved it!
I am fortunate in that I have an AGA, so after I dried off the phone, I left it on top of the AGA simmering plate cover to begin the drying process. I checked the internet for suggestions (just Google 'dropped iPhone in water') and decided to try putting the iPhone into a freezer bag filled with uncooked rice. I turned the phone off, placed it into the bag and left it for 2 days on top of the AGA (any warm environment such as an airing cupboard would probably be equivalent)
After the 2 days were up, I turned the phone on and connected to iTunes to see if the phone was recognised. It was recognised by iTunes, but initially iTunes came up with an error message to the effect that my iPhone was locked by a passcode and it had to be unlocked first. I could not achieve any kind of unlock, because my iPhone just presented with the 'emergency telephone' screen option.
I used this site and other various YouTube,Hackintosh type sites for a solution.
I then decided to put the iPhone into DFU mode

Ignore this question and see the one that followed as it was posted before editing was completed - apologies!

  • IPhone dropped in water... Everything works very well when I tried to play a song the speaker had a modified sound of the song... What should I do to take the water out of it ? Please help

Speaker problem with the iPhone 5S

The device should be powered off immediately and placed in a sealed bag of uncooked rice for a period of at least 7 days. After that time, you can check to see if it will work. Since you have already noticed a problem, and have left the device powered on, you may have increased the problem and the migration of water into the circuits. As Peter said, it isn't if the phone will fail, it is when. Be ready to purchase an out of warranty replacement if you did not purchase Apple Care Plus. User damage is not covered under warranty.

  • I dropped my iPhone 4 in water and now it won't turn on at all, will i lose all of my data, for example my photos and messages etc? and is there any way you can back the phone up without having it switched on?

If you had previously been backing up to iCloud (or a computer with iTunes), you would possibly have a backup.  That said, if you can't turn the phone on, you cannot create a backup of the device now.  Sorry.

I dropped my iPhone 4 in water and cannot get it to dry out enough to turn back on.  I may have fried the battery.  I am using an old iPhone 3 temporarily but cannot get all of my current info to sync.  My calendar is up to date but none of my notes have transferred over and the contact list is from when I originally used the iPhone 3 last year.  How do I get my iPhone 4 info synced onto the iPhone 3?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't restore an iPhone 3G from an iPhone 4 backup. Until you get a replacement you can access your iCloud data at iCloud.com on a computer.

  • I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger is not supported with device screen every minute or two. I powered it off for the night. I havent experienced problems since. Why does it still work?

I dropped my iphone 3gs in water and grabbed it immediately out. It gave me a charger not supported sign every minute or two. I decided to turn it off for the night and the next morning it worked fine and only the bottom sensor was triggered. Why does it still work and how long will it last?

Water in itself will not kill electronic components if you let it dry out.  Your first reaction to turn it off was a good one but you could have waited even longer.
It also depends what's on your water that will stay after the water itself had dried; like salt. Anything that iseither acid or conductor left on the circuit board will reduce the life of the board.  Given said this, no one could state how long your iPhone will work since no one will know for sure where the water had time to infiltrate before you removed your device and no one what's may left there.
Consider yourself lucky.  I don't understand however what you mean by a sensor triggered.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

Hi I dropped my iphone 5 in water last night, it is working but has shadow over the screen how can I get this fixed?

Probably too late to do anything but replace the device at this point.
Once electronics get wet, the best thing to do is turn it off and put it in silica gels packs or uncooked rice for a minimum of 72hrs.  Only then should the user attempt to power the device on.

  • I have an iPhone 3GS that I dropped in water. It still does everything but get service, can I back it up and transfer its data to a new iPhone 3GS? I heard something about how loading a backup from a water damaged phone could mess up the new one...

I have an iPhone 3GS that I dropped in water for a moment. After drying it and everything, it still does everything but get service. Can I back it up and transfer its data to a new iPhone 3GS? I heard something about how loading a backup from a water damaged phone could mess up the new one... is this true? I would truly appreciate the help, please let me know, thanks!

Sounds like your phone is in recovery mode.  In this case, all data on it is gone.  There's nothing to back up.

  • Does it bring any harm or damage to the iphone 4s if let say there is a drop of water drop onto the iphone 4s RECEIVER??

does it bring any harm or damage to the iphone 4s if let say there is a drop of water drop onto the iphone 4s RECEIVER??

Water and electronics are a bad combination. I've seen phones get a few drops of water on them and never work right again. Mind you, I've also seen phones (old flip phones) go through both washer and dryer and continue to work for years.
Does your phone still work? Are you experiencing any problems? If the answer to both of those questions is no, you should be okay.

  • How do I transfer information from iphone 4s to iphone 3g or is this possible?  I dropped my iphone 4s in water yesterday.  I had saved my old 3g.Synced 3g to itunes and restored from back up.I have no pictures or texts from my 4s.Why didn't they transfer

I dropped my iphone 4s in water yesterday.  Got out my old 3g to use temporarily.  I synced it to itunes and restored from backup.  However, none of my pictures or text messages transferred to the 3g.  Did I do something wrong?  Why won't those transfer?  I had just synced my 4s over the weekend.  Everything I have read says to just hit restore and it should have restored to what was on my 4s.  Can someone please tell me if I've lost those things forever?
    Thank you.

If you got a replacement iPhone 4s or iPhone 5 you could restore the backup of the damaged 4s device to either device.
