IPhone E-mail Cannot send to Multiple Addresses
In the Mac OS X and MobileMe e-mail applications, a person can paste multiple e-mail addresses into the 'To:' field, to send an e-mail message to multiple contacts at once. This is not only a convenience for anyone wanting to send a message to a large group of people, but a necessity for business/enterprise users such as company sales managers who have to constantly send information to sales reps in the field all over the country. With the current iPhone OS, the user must send e-mail messages to one contact at a time, which can be very time consuming and tedious. Anyone have any work-arounds for this?
I should have been clearer on the last sentence of my post (but thanks for your response). The last sentence reads, 'With the current iPhone OS, the user must send e-mail messages to one contact at a time, which can be very time consuming and tedious.' What I should have said is:
'With the current iPhone OS, the user must enter each e-mail address individually (one-at-a-time), which can be very time consuming and tedious.'
For instance, let's say you have a group of 50 people you need to send an e-mail message to. If you already have their e-mail addresses typed out together as a group (and separated by commas), you can paste this group into the 'To:' field of a Mac OS X or MobileMe e-mail message, and in one step, send that e-mail to each individual. But on the iPhone, every time you want to send a message to those 50 people, you must individually click the '+' button and locate a contact in your list 50 times.

If so, you might need to check outgoing email settings on your iPhone

Tap on the account you are having an issue with
Tap on the email address beside the word Account
Tap on info beside SMTP (SMTP = outgoing mail server)
Tap on the SMTP server name again.
Make sure server is turned on
Check settings & port info, password, etc.

I can receive AOL mail on my iPhone but I cannot send email.
I can receive email for my AOL account on my iPhone but I cannot send email from the iPhone. I can send email OK from a computer. I have AT&T service.
razmee209 (and others in this community)... HELP!
I have the same issue - I can receive email on my iPhone, but cannot send messages. Keep getting error message: (Cannot Send Mail - The user name or password for "SMTP:[email protected]" is incorrect
This issue occurred when I changed my AOL password. I also updated my password on my iPhone. After exploring this issue more deeply, it appears that my iPhone did not update my password for outgoing mail (as that are more "dots" in the password field for my outgoing server account, than for the incoming server passward that was just updated.
I am unable to change ANY of the information or settings in any of the outgoing mail server accounts - except only to toggle each account ON or OFF. All other information is "greyed" out, and unavailable and inaccessible.
I know that if I could just change (or somehow sync) the outgoing password to match the new incoming password.
PLEASE HELP!! -
Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
I have the same problem.
Late 2012 imac 27", intel i7 core
When I upgraded to Yosemite, suddenly my email account (netvigator POP) gives an error:
Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
I have shut down & restarted mail, but no success. If I select Allow insecure authentication, it works, but that's not a long term fix.
I also have a hotmail POP account enabled, and that is working fine.
What's happening Apple??

I have an iphone 5 and cannot send email away from home. It works fine at home over my home WiFi. But when away from home on Verizon wireless if I send an email I get an error: "the server refused user >Personal email address deleted< your message has been added to drafts". What do I need to do to fix this? My wife has the same problem with her iphone 5.

Rats! Emails should work on our network! Let's get this fixed. It may be the way the email is set up on your device. Here's an awesome link on apple's site to help you: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1288908?start=0&tstart=0 If that doesn't fix the problem I would recommend reaching out to road runners site. They normally have email set up walkthrus.
Please reach out to us if you run into any issues.

I have an ipad and Iphone. I cannot send I message from my ipad to certain people and yet can from my Iphone. Any suggestions
You can send iMessages to other iOS devices, like iPad, iPhone, etc. Furthermore, the other iDevices users must have set up their iMessage.

Yesterday I uploaded Yosemite 10.10.2 thinking it was fixed by now. In Mail, my POP account gets this error message: Mail cannot send your password securely to the server. You can remove this restriction in the Accounts preferences by setting “Allow insecure authentication”, which could put your password at risk.
My provider says it's an Apple issue. The gmail accounts are logging in fine. Any help? Something simple?
Thanks anyone. Thanks Csound1. That did work and Mail was able to connect to the internet. Green light status. Is it because of my provider that I may never have had secure connections? Is that an Apple thing or do PCs have the same issues? Appreciate your help. I'll research insecure connections as I am ignorant of the consequences.

Attachment size - Mail cannot send email attachments over 1.5Mb
Had this issue with Mac mail for well over a year now.
Mac Mail, connected to Exchange server.
Mac Mail cannot send attachments over about 1.5Mb. This does fluctuate, sometimes its as low as 600Kb.
It seems to be related to the internet speed you have, Slower internet connections and attachment size you are able to send goes down, faster speed and it allows bigger attachments to be sent.
Im assuming its some kind of time out issue.
With Windows and Outlook on the same internet connection = NO PROBLEM AT ALL!
This means its not an exchange only problem, its specific to mail and exchange.
I have several friends all switched over to Apple in the last 2 years and ALL having the same issues and despite logging several calls with Apple and trying everything they have suggested still no fix.
I have searched around and it seems lots of people are having similar issues all with no resolution to this.
Please can someone suggest anything new that might resolve this, im happy to try anything!@Brooksymj
We had a similar problem - but we had one Mac which had been migrated from and old G5 Tiger to a new Intel iMac Snow Leopard and no problems existed (all size attachments send), so we checked out what was different about that machine's mail.plist preferences. We spotted some obvious ones that didn't exist on a clean install of Snow Leopard, so added them, which worked for us, as follows...
1/ get Pref Setter (www.nightproductions.net/prefsetter.html)
2/ quit Mail and launch Pref Setter
3/ find com.apple.mail and double-click it
4/ click once on any one of the entries without an expansion triangle
5/ click on Actions and select Add New Array
6/ call the new array DeliveryAccounts (no space)
7/ with DeliveryAccounts highlighted, click Actions and select Add New Dictionary
8/ leave the default name of Item 1
9/ with Item 1 highlighted, click Actions and select Add New Key
10/ call the new key MaxMessageBytes (no spaces)
11/ change MaxMessageBytes class to Integer
12/ set the value to the maximum individual message size permited by your exchange server
(ours is 50MB = 52428800)
This also worked on my mbp with Lion.
Hope this works for you!

Setting up mail. cannot send password securely
when i go to set up my mail with my aol account i get a message saying mail cannot send my password securely to the server. this is on the first welcome screen where you enter your name email and password.....it does give me the option to do it manually but if i do that i cannot send any email but i receive email. i checked the incoming and outgoing settings and there right..... what does this mean is there anyway to get past this
thanksI've never seen this particular warning, but it's important to note that passwords for e-mail are always sent insecurely unless you are able to connect via SSL. You can set Mail to connect via SSL in the advanced account settings, assuming that your mail provider (AOL) allows such a thing, which some do not. Even if the password is sent encrypted, the rest of the e-mail is not, so you should never send any confidential information via e-mail, any more than you'd put it on a postcard.

HT201407 My iPhone from SPRINT cannot send SMS and 3G when Outside US
Subject: My iPhone from SPRINT cannot send SMS and 3G when Outside US
I buy a Sprint iPhone in the U.S. price No-Contract (Full Price -> 649 + taxes)
I asked the seller that uses outside of the United States ? The seller confirmed using ok
I am unable to use the message SMS and 3G at VIET NAM with carrier VN MOBIFONE
I am is not activated is FaceTime anh IMessage with phone number +84906646492
Use the normal Voice, 3G, iMessage, Facetime when using APPLE ID
Model : MD667LL/A
Serial Number : F17JF5VCF8GM
IMEI / MEID : 99000226901335Well yes, you probably will have problems with your phone because a 'contract free' phone is NOT the same as a fully unlocked iPhone.
This is a user forum, so nobody here can really help you. As Sprint is your carrier in the US, then you need to contact them first. They are the only ones who can help you. -
IPhone message. "Cannot Send Mail" "The connection to the outgoing server.
It states:
"Cannot Send Mail" "The connection to the outgoing server "(null)" failed."
This is the error I get attempting to send Yahoo mail using EDGE network on at&t.
I would guess that only 2-3 emails out of every 10 go through. The rest get the above error message.
Please help if you can.
ThanksWell, if your on ATT Yahoo. The settings are as follows, and I've had luck both sending and recieving with these settings.
Incoming Mail Server
Host Name: pop.att.yahoo.com
User Name: *****@sbcglobal.net (or whatever your ATT domain might be)
Password: Required
Outgoing Mail Server
Host Name: smtp.att.yahoo.com
User Name: ****@sbcglobal.net (or whatever your domain happens to be)
Password: Optional (I left mine blank)
Under Advanced
Deleted Messages: Remove After ? (Your Choice)
Incoming Settings
Use SSL : On
Authentication: Password
Delete from Server: Your choice
Server Port: 995
Outgoing Settings
Use SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 465
I've taken these setting from my phone. I can't remember all the domain names for the ATT Yahoo, but I know sbcglobal is one, and I believe attglobal is another. Also to change the ports under advanced, though you shouldn't have to, simply click the port area and a keypad will come up below. You can type the port number there.
