IPhone EAS Server Load question

We are in the process of introducing the iPhone into our corporate structure. However we are running into some delaying tactics by some of our IT management. They are saying that they will limit the amount of iPhones because they "significantly use more data" than the OWA (Outlook Web Access) users.
Is this possible?
Doing my research and reading both Apple's and Microsoft's White Papers regarding the iPhone on Exchange and the EAS, I don't believe that this is the case.
Are there any benchmarks out there that I can show them?
Has anyone else come across this kind of stonewalling?

Your problem is going to be your word against theirs, and they will win unless you can get executive level support. So focus on personal networking rather than technical viability.

Iws 6.0 web server load question

What are the advantages (if any) of running multiple web server instances (iplanet 6.0 sp4) vs. one server with increased thread count. I'm unclear after reading through documentation what the limits of one iplanet httpd server are...I know you can manupulate threads as needed but how does one process scale with increased load vs. having two on the box?
Can one process handle all the traffic from a 100mb full duplex qfe card (ie, could the card handle the pipe being fully utilized)? It seems to me that if it's threaded than it should be able to...what would another process do that threads can't?
I ask this question because I've got an application coming with these specs:
Top end load capability of 150 hits per second.
13,500 users per day with average 3.6 server interactions per second
And I've got two Sun 280r's with 2 900mhz cpu each sitting behind a load balancer.

EAS Server does not start

Hi,
I am running Essbase agent as a service. I have started EAS server and I got the error (pasted below)..and am unable to login to EAS console.
How should I fix this error..?

Based on the beginning of the error output, it looks like port 10080 is already in use. Was the EAS service already running when you tried to start it? Could it be a rogue instance of EAS running that needs to be fully shutdown (perhaps requiring a server reboot at the most extreme). Was some new software installed on the server that may be using the port?

App.server load balancing for SAP System with 1 PS

Hi,
In SAP CPS 7.0 (Build M26.12) I have a SAP system with Central Instance + 10 App.servers, but all instances are managed by 1 ProcessServer.
After activating the "App.server load balancing" setting in SAP system definition the application servers are becoming visible in CPS with their load factors (number of BGD wp's on app.servers) and load numbers (number of active jobs on app.servers).
This is so far fine, but the additional functionality is not working as I would expect, I have issues with 2 functionalities:
1. Based on documentation after activating also the XAL connection the CPS should submit the job on app.server with best performance based on XAL monitoring data filling the TARGET_SERVER parameter.
This functionality is not working for me at all
2. A useful functionality after activating the "App.server load balancing" setting is that the ProcessServer is going to "Overloaded" status when all BGD wp's of SAP system are occupied, thus restricting submitting new jobs during overload situation. But I had an issue also with this functionality, after SAP system recovery from overload situation, the CPS still remained in Overload status (so no new jobs were submitted).
As a workaround I had increased the treshold values for loads on all app.servers for this SAP system, what was fine for several days, but after a while I believe this was a reason of unexpected performance issues in CPS, therefore I have deactivated the 'App.server load balancing" setting at all for this ProcessServer.
I would appreciate your feedbacks with this functionality.

Hi Preetish,
This connect string option is to loadbalance RFC connections. These are balanced upon login, once you are connected to a particular application server (AS) you stay on that server until you reconnect.
Since CPS uses multiple RFC connections, this will result in the connections being distributed over the available AS resources which is fine as long as they are generally evenly loaded. If you have certain AS hosts that are continuosly more loaded than the rest, then you probably don't want the CPS RFC connections to end up on these servers.
The original question is about loadbalancing of batch jobs over the available AS resources, and this is done independent of the RFC connection load balancing. Even if all CPS RFC connections are pinned to the DB/CI host, you can still loadbalance jobs over the available SAP AS hosts, either by using SAPs builtin balancing, or the CPS algorithm by activating the checkbox as indicated in the first entry in this thread.
Finally, to reply to Ernest's question: I believe there are some fixes on the app load balancing in the latest release, M26.17 should be available on the SWDC now.

Okay so my iphone is kind of messed up. I have a music problem ( in that in speeds it up, even though i changed headphones and it randomly pauses music) i have a slowness issue like most people, but to get frm the lock screen to messages it takes a matter of minutes, it takes 1 minute to get to the screen for me to enter my password and a minute or two to type it in and load then another minute to get on messages! im really annoyed. apple are suppose to be the best company out but with so many problems with their iphones i am really not believing this!
whenever i try to restore my iPhone 3G, i get the message 'the iphone softwae server could not be contacted'. my network settings are FINE. as i am on the internet. what is going on!? it wouldn't work last night either. i want to get back to 3.0 without jailbreaking obviously.
i hate apple at the moment ¬_¬

My phone wont back up or sync to itunes 10.6. i have a windows 7 32 bit laptop. i have tried updating the ios and receive the message saying it cannot connect to the iphone update server please check network connection. any help

have a iphone 4. i have downloaded the latest version of itunes to update the ios. All I can tell you is that I am having the exact same problem with an iPod Touch and that I was running iTunes 9.2.1.5 at the time it happened. Upgraded to 10.0.0.68 hoping that it might help, but no joy.
I don't want to do a restore just now since the Touch seems to be working fine. Restore will have to wait until I have plenty of free time in case something goes wrong.

If Mail in Mavericks is the same as earlier versions you can select accounts in the sidebar, so that you can either display the inboxes for individual accounts, or the contents of all the account inboxes. (If the accounts don't show click the disclosure triangle next to 'INBOX'). The layout may have changed since the version I have - Snow Leopard - but you should be able to do the same thing.

I tried using my phone but cannot find the update software button even when I have gone through the right process by tapping SETTING, then GENERAL, yet could not find Update Software button. Whenever I connect my iphone 3GS to my PC through a USB. My itunes software comes up automatically.

All sorted! dont suppose you know how to fix another problem I have??? for weeks now, since updating to ios5 I think, for some reason every time I have tried to log onto app store it says CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?

thanks but if Im using iCloud For my Iphone and backing my ipod touch to my computer is that ok or would I have to back both up to ICloud. As u can telll, I want to kep the 2 devices seperate as much as possible, only putting on my phone what i choose to download, buy, or take from my current itunes library most importantly.

I have a 4s iPhone which I loaded the new Os on last night. Now I can not connect to iTunes. A message comes up saying i need 10.6.3 or later but I am running 10.6.1 as I have an older Mac. Anyone have ideas how to get this to work?

I have a 4s iPhone which I loaded the new Os on last night. Now I can not connect to iTunes. A message comes up saying i need 10.6.3 or later but I am running 10.6.1 as I have an older Mac. Anyone have ideas how to get this to work?

Its not telling you to update your iPad, its telling you you need to download a recent version itunes on your computer.
