IPhone Entourage Blackberry

I have a pretty complicated setup and looking for suggestions. Here's the situation:
I have a hosted Exchange account and use a Blackberry Server (BES) to synchronize my contacts. I use Entourage on the Mac to view my contacts and my assistant uses Entourage or Outlook to make changes to my contacts and calendars.
I now have the shiny new iPhone and I want to sync all of this information with it, but I notice when I use sync services, information is sometimes lost and/or has different formats.
Is there a safe and reliable way for all of my devices to play nicely with each other?

Entourage questions should be posted on Microsoft's own Mac forums for Entourage

  • Calendar syncing Iphone/Entourage/Ical/Lion OX 10.7.2

Ok - so this is driving me a little crazy.
I upgraded from Leopard 10.5 to Snow Leopard 10.6 and finally to Lion 10.7.2.
Upgraded my iphone to IOS 5.0
I use Entourage as my primary email and calendar.
I clicked the synchronize contacts and also calendars in the preferences panel under sync services.
    What are the correct settings in;
    Iphone
    Entourage
    Ical
    Any where else
For my Iphone, Ical and Entourage Calendars to always be in sync?
I want to be able to make changes from my phone and from Entourage. I never change a thing in Ical, I just use it for syncing.
Also, why can I not find the invitees option in my Iphone Calendar? Does it need to be switched on somewhere in the settings??
    PLEASE HELP!?

Sorry that I did not mention that the problem with iCal is happening in my MacBook air, not in the iPhone.
    Regards.

Sounds like your friend didn't disable iMessage on his/her iphone before switching.  Have your friend do the following:
    Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
    Click on "edit products"
Click on the "x" to the right of his/her old iPhone.
    Click "unregister"
This should unregister it with the iMessage server, which will allow you to send texts as normal SMS.
On your iPhone make sure you have Settings>Messages>Send As SMS set to ON.

  • HT1670 Sync iPhone/Entourage will only recognize one of my two iPhones?

I have two iPhones. One I have managed to sync no problem, but the second is just not interested! A friend told me that with iPhone/Entourage will only recognize one iPhone, if so is there anything I can do to sync my second phone?

    Hi, Darcie13.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed.
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows

Try using one ot the several WiFi transfer apps in the App Store. I do that all the time, back/forth between iPhone and iPad Mini. Works with videos, too.

  • Do emails delete from an iphone like blackberry's do?

I have recently switched to an iphone having used a blackberry for a long time. When i deleted emails from my "entourage" inbox on my computer it would in turn automatically delete them from my blackberry. So far it doesn't seem to be doing this with "mail" and my iphone and i wondered if anyone can tell me if i need to apply a particular setting somewhere or if this functionality just doesn't exist and i need to delete the emails from both my computer and my iphone?
Thx for any advice you may have,
    Charlie

If your email account is setup as IMAP (not POP) on both your Mac and iPhone, then your email account will be "in sync" across all devices that you access it from.
If you delete an email from an IMAP account in Entourage on your Mac, it will also be gone in Mail on your iPhone and vice versa.

  • Oracle CRM Email Integration including iphone and Blackberry

We add with CRM Gadget a free email integration.
This integration is working with every mail application including iphone & blackberry.

We are having the same problem - when the iphone checks mail, the account locks up and other email clients are unable to access the same account for 15-20 minutes. Not a very efficient business tool. This isn't just a mail.app problem either, it happens with Eudora too. Blackberry and Motorola users are not experiencing the same issues - they're able to check simutaneously with other devices. Maybe there is something that can be done on the mail server end?

  • Safe to charge iPhone with Blackberry USB adapter?

I have the small wall-plug-to-USB adapter from my Blackberry that looks like the one below. Is it safe to use a standard Apple 30 pin + USB connecter (pictured below the Bberry connector) with it to charge my iPhone 4S? Otherwise I have to buy a second Apple-branded connector to have one at both home and work.

usb is 5volt ios devices can charge with anything that provide 5volts
if the charger don't follow the usb std and provide 50volts the phone will explode

  • IPhone / Entourage dates get doubled after sync

I hope I'm not repeating a question, although I did a search earlier. When I sync a task from Enourage to my iPhone using iTunes, of course they all go from the various calendars ("categories", in Entourage) to the single iPhone calendar. However the next time I sync, those tasks "come back" to Entourage as separate tasks and are put into the Entourage "Home" calendar, which is the default set up in iTunes if a new task is created in iPhone. The trouble is, these tasks are not being created in iPhone, they all originate in Entourage. As a result, they get doubled.
    Any solution?
    Thanks!

    hi again,
this helped me: besides using Entourage I used to tell iTunes to sync with mail account settings (when I first got the iMac I transferred my account settings from Entourage to Mail, but later decided to use Entourage again). However, since I told iTunes not to sync the Mail account settings, the tasks do not double in Entourage anymore.

  • IPhone/Entourage not synching all calendar entries

I have been using my iPhone with Entourage for over a year. Recently, I've developed two problems:
    1) when I enter a new appointment on my iPhone, it does not sync onto Entourage
    2) some Entourage calendar entries do not sync onto my iPhone.
These missing entries do not show up in iCal either.
I have checked my Entourage Preferences to make sure the syncing function was on.
Any other ideas of what I should do?

    Hi Andrew,
Make sure you have installed the updates for Mac OS and Entourage. To install the Mac OS updates click the Apple in the top left corner of the screen, then click Software Update..
Try Resetting the Sync History from the iSync applications preference screen.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iSync/2.0/en/isc39.html
If the issue persists you can try Resetting the SyncServices folder.

  • Texting between Iphone and Blackberry

    Hello,
This may sound like a silly question, but my wife has a blackberry and told me that whenever I send her a text with my iphone, it ends up in her "mailbox" so the text is treated like email (which is funny because her texts always show up quickly in my Iphone text application). She showed me the Blackberry messenger application that allows her to have instant text conversations with other Blackberry users. Are there any third party applications for both of our phones that would allow us to have simple/immediate text conversations? I am sure this is old news to everyone, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

On the BlackBerry, the 'Messages' icon is a catch-all inbox. It collects messages from any messaging account linked to the device (email, text messages, mms, PIN messages, etc.)
If she wants to separate her text messages into a different location, that's actually quite simple to do.
On the device, change this setting:
*Messages > Options > General Options > SMS and Email Inboxes = Separate*
This will create a new icon on the device specifically for text messages.

  • Should I purchase iPhone or Blackberry for this task?

I specifically want a phone to receive emails (maybe 4 per day) and access websites to enter data (say 4 times per day). I've been told that for those who want to do this regularly the iPhone freezes and is slower than the Blackberry. Almost all spoken to say that for emails, the Blackberry is superior. Any comments or suggestions please?

If you are talking about that low a number of emails the speed is not going to matter so the BB will not give you any added benefit. To be compared to the BB you need a push email account on the iPhone which you can get by signing on to MobileMe, use a yahoo push mail account (free) or an exchange account.
As far as data entry, I would go with the iPhone due to the larger screen than some BBs, touch screen, etc. Safari has been pretty stable for me and I have done some data entry with it.

  • Iphone Vs. Blackberry data usage

I used to own a Blackberry Bold 9000. Then I switched to the iPhone. My carrier is Rogers Wireless. My 500 MB data plan started falling short. Rogers says the BB is more economical in handling data. For example compared to a smartphone like the iPhone, one can handle 5,000 emails on the BB compared to 2,500 on a smartphone in the same 500 MB. Is this correct?

    Tamara wrote:
BB routes everything through their servers and optimizes it so you have "lower" data usage since they do it on their end.
The iPhone uses data the same way a computer would. There is nothing in between that prefilters and compresses everything.
Great post, I did not know this, good information. I learn something new here all the time. Thanks Tamara!
