IPhone erases PowerBook email

When I erase email messages from my IPhone it also erases my PowerBook messages.
How can I alleviate this?

Use a different type of mail account setup. With IMAP (which, presumably you are using), the mail 'lives' on the server - changes made on one device are reflected on all the devices.

I gave my mom I old iPhone 4s when I got the new one, I didn't wipe it because it was some stuff on there she wanted. I erased my email account from the phone but she still receives my emails. Where do I need to go to stop her from getting them?

    Restore the phone as new.
Load the content she wants on there.

  • I cannot erase an email from iPhone 4S

I have erased an email repeatedly but it still shows up after a while.

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • IPhone 3G displaying emails in random order / not displaying some at all

My iPhone is displaying emails in random order - mainly oldest first at the moment. Since I can't set viewing preferences I would like to know how to get iPhone mail back to normal behaviour. For some reason it is not displaying emails from 5 December to 30 November as well.
I have deleted my .mac mail account and re-instated it to no avail.
I should add that my mac.com webmail is behaving similarly strangely. Instead of displaying emails by most recent first it decided to display them by oldest first.
Since I have not done anything differently and this behaviour came out of the blue I am pretty puzzled.
Mail.app on my Powerbook works fine btw.

First try Resetting it: Hold down the home and sleep button, ignore the red OFF slider, wait for the Apple logo then let go.
If that does not work, Restore your iPhone in iTunes from your backup.
If that still does not fix it, Restore your iPhone and a new phone (not from backup) and see how it works. If it is doing fine you have a app you are using that is probably causing your problem. Load them one and a time until the problems recur and you will have found the one that is a problem.

  • Got a new macbook pro after selling my iphone synced powerbook

Now I can't sync anything without iTunes wanting to completely erase the contents of my iphone.  I have apps that I downloaded/paid for from the app store app on the phone.  Can't we all just get along?

Did you transfer all important data from your iPhone synced PowerBook to your new MacBook such as documents, photos, and your iTunes library? Or did you leave all important data on your PowerBook behind?
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only and photos can be transferred from a single computer. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.
This can be avoided in regards to iTunes content by including your iTunes library with your computer's backup and transferring your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link. All iTunes content on your iPhone - all music, movies, tv shows, ringtones, iBooks, etc. and 3rd party apps should be in your iTunes library.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
All photos on your iPhone transferred from the old computer should be transferred from the old to the new computer as well along with all other photos stored on the old computer.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iDevice but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
In addition in regards to iTunes content that was purchases/downloaded from the iTunes store, if you are in the US check this link.

  • 3G iPhone, 2004 Powerbook and iPad2... iCloud Thoughts

As the title states I have an old iPhone that cannot update to iOS5 and my Powerbook is so old that I cannot update to OS 10.7.2. That said, I do have a new iPad2 that meets the transition requirements.
My first question is... if I use the iPad2 to transition my MobileMe account to the new iCloud will the iPad2 be the only device I can access my mail? I ask because I use my iPhone to access my MobileMe mail account daily... it's my main mail account.
Also, is updating just on the iPad2 going to cause any issues with my iPhone and Powerbook?
    Thanks...

You should still be able to set iCloud email up on older devices. you won't however be able to sync calendars and contacts with them. You can access iCloud contacts and calendars at the iCloud.com website from a browser on your computer.

  • Have an iphone 3GS, 2 email accounts.  My work email account used to work.  Now if I send any emails from this account it only appears in my sent box.  Recipients internal and external do not receive.  IT person cannot figure why occurring.  Any insight?

Have a iphone 3GS; 2 email accounts.  one is for work.  It used to work fine until about Feb 2011.  Now when i send emails from my work account it only appears in the sent file.  Recipients do not get email.
IT person looked at it & cannot find why this is happening.
Any insight why this is occurring??

This has nothing to do with your iPhone.
If a message is in the account's Sent mailbox, this means the message was successfully sent. If a message cannot be sent for whatever reason, it will remain in the Outbox.
What happens to a message after it was successfully sent has nothing to do with the email client or computer/device used to send the message.

  • My Iphone has family emails that appear randomly when I try to update apps or generally have to log into my account. It comes up as my sister in laws address. She was once connected to our account when she got her phone at first. How can I remove?

My Iphone has family emails that appear randomly when I try to update apps or generally have to log into my account. It comes up as my sister in laws address. She was once connected to our account when she got her phone at first. How can I remove? There are only two other email address's associated with my account and hers was never one of them! I do have a cloud set up on my phone. I thought this issue had gone away when I canged my passwords, but I just registered a new phone yesterday and its happening again!
    Can anyone help me?

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are currently using this ID for purchases or not.  If you are being prompted for your sister-in-law's Apple ID when updating it means that there must be one or more apps on your phone that was purchased using her Apple ID.  (When she synced with your computer it may have transferred this app to your library.  It was subsequently synced to your phone.)  The only way to stop the prompt for her ID is to delete these apps from your phone and your iTunes library and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

  • HT201269 Hi, how do i transfer my data from one email accouint on one iphone to another email account on another iphone, both accounst are apple accounts?

How do I transfer content from a iPhone on one email account to to another iPhone on a different email account when both account are registered with apple?

Are you asking how to transfer items from one AppleID to another AppleID?
If yes, that cannot be done - apps, content, media are forever tied
to the AppleID used to download them.
If that is not what you are asking, please add more details as to what you
are trying to accomplish so someone may offer a solution.

Using a POP account with more than one device - Apple Support
A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S.

  • How do I send a text from my iphone to an email address and have it be an imessage?

I am trying to send a text message to my husband's ipad from my iphone via his email address.  He receives the text in his email and not as an imessage.  How can I change this so he receives it as an imessage. Our apple user id is my email address.

If you want your husband to receive an iMessage, you must send it to him as an iMessage yourself. Just go into the Messages app and send it to your husband's Apple ID. All e-mails (except me.com, as it is part of iCloud/iMessages) don't actually work with Messages.
Alternatively, you could download free, wi-fi based messenger apps on your iDevices. Popular ones include WhatsApp, but there should be more that suit your preferences.

After downloading IOS 8.0.2 on my iPhone 5, my email messages are not coming through automatically. Before, my email messages would come through automatically and my iPhone would alert me each time an emial message was recevied.   I now have to open my mail in-box and wait for my email messages to download.  Do I need to reset or change my mail settings?  This issue is delaying my abiliy to receive and respond to email messages in a timely manner.
    Please Help.

Hi Chris.  Thanks, for the suggestions re: my email issues.  They were helpful and yes I did check all items you referenced.  I even contacted Apple support and spent about 40 minutes on phone checking all settings.  However, after all these efforts, my mail and calendar issues were not resolved.  Apple Support finally recommended deleting the mail account and then reloading it - and it worked!  I am now receiving my emails and calendar appts. in real time again.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone elest has a similar problem with mail/calendar after downloaing i.O.S. 8.1 onto iPhone 5.
    Thanks, again.
