Iphone error 21 or 1611 failing to restore

I have an iphone 5 here that was stuck in a continues loop displaying the apply logo.
for starters, im running a fresh install of windows 8, with itunes. there is no other software installed.
the logo would appear, then fade out and then reappear and repeat.
Somehow i got it to the point where now it no longer loops but goes straight to the itunes logo (displaying the itunes logo and a usb cable)
I did a restore straight from this and got error 1611, multiple times on 2 different computers and multiple usb ports.
it does the whole attempt to restore and then restarts the iphone, apple logo appears and then the loading circle appears and freezes. about 2 minutes later its back to the itunes logo with usb cable.
do the same thing with the phone in DFU mode and everything identical happens except its error 21 instead. also i have seen some small text appear in the top left corner of the screen before it restarts after it has failed. havnt been able to catch what it says.
i deleted the host file and got the same errors.
ive tried the "hold sleep and home together" to reset it still goes straight to the itunes logo.
Any other ideas?

Error 21 says this:
Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

Error 1712 after failed Software Restore?

I attempted to reinstall the bundled software from the Software Restore CD which came with OS 10.2.
It hung near the end for over three hours so I restarted.
Now everytime I try the Restore installation again I get a 1712 error message with "Quit" as the only choice available.
I searched everywhere but could only learn that 1712 was a timeout error.
Does anyone know a way to get past this?

I actually was running the Software Restore after I completed a successful Archive and Install.
(I don't have a handy way to back up the data. I might seek another Mac owner and try the FW Target Disk Mode and do a clean install).

Sometimes when I'm printing in InDesign CS3 the default printer is PostScript and when trying to change it the error "Printer selection failed. Restoring the previous selection." appears.
It´s the same error as in this unsolved old thread:

What is the OS? CS3 was not tested on recent OS versions and may not be fully functional. You can export to PDF and print that from Acrobat or Reader.

The phone was jailbroken. That's what that error indicates. You can't get help here. You can't get help from Apple.

If you are having the same issue on several computers then it is a hardware issue! Not a software issue! Replacement is the only resolution!

Try:
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
Or it could be an Apple problem and you will have to wait.

Have you googled to see what the error code means? Perhaps that will give you a clue as to how to solve your problem.

My five month old iPhone 4 is failing to restore and shows an error number of (-1). As seems to be standard of low customer service with Apple it is not listed in their troubleshooting guide online. Is there any way to fix this without sending Apple another few hundred dollars to fix it?

If you have tried multiple computers and were unable to get that to work, with a phone that is 5 months old, like I said earlier, it is under warranty. The only way to get past the cost of Apple phone support, which is only free for 90 days unless you purchase Apple Care, is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the closest Apple store and take the phone in. That is free support and they should be able to diagnose the problem. I'm not sure what you are referring to as a common iOS5 software problem, because if it was so common, there would be other posts here referring to it. Try the Genius Bar, they are the next step in troubleshooting.

The music continued to play with the iPod?
If so, when a call is received while listening to music with the iPod, when the call is answered the music should be paused. When ending the call, the music starts playing again from where is was paused.
There is no automatic mute with notifications for received email or messages while on a call and there is no setting for this.

Hi folks, just yesterday i can restore my iphone 4 that have a problem when i restore from itunes, when i do the restore from itnes, always showed me the following error:

what I did was this: just when I will finish the process, when the status bar is at the end in the firmware, only put the sim card and go back to take out, I do this like 4 or 5 times and the process restoration ends so well. This method I tried it 2 times and 2 times worked. I spent like 10 hours trying to restore iphone without results, until I started watching the logs and the key is when you are upgrading the firmware sends a command to answer yes. And I hope this helps.
