IPhone, Exchange, & Outlook 2007

The IT Mgr at my place of work set up all of us iPhoners so we could check our work email outside the office. It's pretty powerful, and works very well away from work, and I've benefitted it immensely - it allows me to keep up with emails from home without the hassle of a session at the computer (I spend etoo much time on the computer as it is!). Thanks, Apple!
When I get to work in the morning, I open Outlook and all my new messages come flooding in. Any that I've deleted from my iPhone are gone, those that I've moved from my Inbox to a subfolder are where I put them, and Read emails show as Read ... but replied-to emails do not show as having been replied-to.
When you reply to a message in Outlook (or any mail clent, of course), there's a change in the icon next to the email, indicating that a reply has been sent. Here's a screenshot of a special subfolder I made for some test emails, for those unfamiliar with Outlook's iconography:
http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o184/synthlord/?action=view&current=iphone-ou tlook.jpg
The top email was replied-to from my iPhone, yet Outlook doesn't reflect this. The email below it was replied-to from Outlook, and you can clearly see the little arrow indicating that fact.
_So my question is:_ How do I get Outlook to show that I've replied to an email from my iPhone? Is it an Exchange setting? Is it something in Outlook? Or is it something I just have to live with?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

This had no impact on the problem. I have confirmed that this is an issue with iCal and not the iPhone. An all day appointment on for example August 15 created in iCal shows up correctly in Entourage syncing to an Exchange Server. However, when the appointment propogates to Outlook 2007, the All Day event now displays as from 7:00 pm August 14 to 7:00 pm on August 15.
Time Zone support has no impact regardless of setting on iCal.
Close inspection of the Event in Outlook shows ALL DAY is selected but the greyed out times are from 7 to 7 as described above.

  • Exchange/Outlook 2007 and Oracle Calendar Collaboration

    Hi Guys!
I have a situation here in my incoming migration project. Is it really possible that an Oracle Calendar and Exchange/Outlook 2007 Calendar will collaborate or synchronize with each other? I only know that theres an Oracle Connector for Outlook in Oracle Collaboration suite, which will synchronize to Exchange/outlook calendar, but i didnt heard if the Exchange/Outlook Calendar will synchronized to Oracle Calendar simulataneously.
Please let me know if its possible or if theres a work around on this since we preferred them both to exists.
Thanks and i look forward on your replies.
    Regards,
    LRM

    Same problem here.
All Day events entered in Outlook 2007 on my work machine that have ALL DAY checked and are only on that ONE Day, seem to come out fine. If however we have an all-day event that goes multiple days, then it enters it on my iphone taking up 00:00-00:00, which is very messy if you have two ALL-day envents on the same day (when tracking different personnel for example).
I have noticed the real annoying item though is that changing it on my iPhone 4 directly, that once I put in the right start and end dates, and choose ALL DAY, about 5 seconds later it actually changes the START DAY! This makes you go back to change the start day, then it changes the end day so you change that, and now finally all sorted.
This NEVER happened on my iPhone3G that I have used with Excahgne for over two years now. Only since I got my iPhone4.
    PLEASE Apple, fix this!!!!

  • How to export contacts from iPhone to Outlook 2007

    Hello tehre.

Sync the phone to outlook, you can't export to it.

  • IPhone 4 & Outlook 2007 contact groups

I'm totally stumped - please help!!!
    Hardware:
    iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.1 (I think that's right!)
    PC: Vista with Office 20074
I sync my phone with the contacts and calendar in my outlook and both technically sync fine. The contacts were imported into Outlook 2007 from an excel file that was exported from Outlook 2003.
My conundrum is that on my iphone the contacts are also shown in groups - but I cannot for the life of me find these groups in Outlook to update them or even remove them! In Outlook none of the contacts are labelled into the categories or into groups - I'm totally stumped!!
Since having my iPhone I don't really use outlook anymore other than as a back up for my calendar and contact data so I am wondering whether to just import the data into my yahoo account and sync there but its driving me nuts that I cant work out where the group information is being tagged to the contacts.
    Can anyone help me?!
    Thanks in advance

I have been working on a group email app recently (MailShot), and the way the iPhone handles some of this stuff is certainly fun.
How do you sync your contacts with Outlook, do you use the Exchange wireless protocol? That also creates an "Exchange Global Address List" that can be the source of some strange effects along the lines of what you are seeing. Do you see it listed at the bottom of the Groups page of your Contacts app?
Typically it is used to allow everyone in an office to access the same shared contact list. Unfortunately the GAL persists even if you turn Contacts sync off in the Exchange account panel of the Settings app, you have to disable the Exchange account to stop seeing it.
Hope this gave you a few pointers

  • Message Encoding - iPhone/Exchange/Outlook/Entourage

I have an account on my iPhone configured to send/receive mail via the Exchange server at my work. When I get messages and respond via my iPhone and then try to view these later on my MacBook Pro with Entourage (or Outlook 2007 under VMWare) the message is completely garbled. The messages also have no subject, even though I am simply replying to a messages that came to me with a subject. It looks like some kind of encoding issue. The body of the message is just one big block of text:

  • Syncing iPhone with Outlook 2007 after hard drive crash.

I recently had a hard drive crash.  We were able to retrieve the .pst files for Outlook 2007 and I sync my iPhone with Outlook for contacts, calendar and such for business.  The iPhone of course, was not affected.  I downloaded iTunes on the new hard drive, and backed up the phone.  (I sync music and apps on my husband's laptop.)
Now, in trying to sync, though, I get a lot of nebulous messages that really don't explain what the outcome will be.
    Box says:
The information on the iPhone "Susan's iPhone" is synced with another user account.  Do you want to sync this iPhone with the information from this user account instead?
(Choices:  "Merge Info mergest th einformation on this iPhone with the information from this user account.  OR "Replace Info" replaces the information on this iPhone with the information from this user account.  )
My best guess would be 'Merge info" but then, will I end up with double everything?  I have many hundreds of contacts and years of calendars.
It seems with Apple I'm always cleaning up one mess after another.  Today when installing iTunes, it corrupted my Outlook and I had to repair Outlook. So it would be a nightmare to have double of everything on my phone and on my computer.
Does anyone have a clue as to what to expect?

On a PC with Windows or with Paralels iTunes 8.2 has an option for Outlook which works with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 (if it works - see my post on a case where it doesn't ...)

  • Duplicates IPhone and Outlook 2007

    Yo!
I am continually getting duplicates between my IPhone 4 and Outlook 2007.
I delete the duplicate from Outlook and re-sync - still duplicated on phone after next sync.
I delete the duplicate from the IPhone - still get the duplication in Outlook after the next sync.
I am wondering if the way I make the entries into Outlook is causing the problem.
Here is how I enter data into my Outlook Contact list:
If it is a name of a person: I just enter the full name into the "Full Name" field: ex: John Smith
However, if it is a business or I want to manipulate the name so that it is organized alphabetically, I enter the name just into the "Company Name" so that the "File As" field will display and sort the name alphabetically. Ex:
If it is "John Smith Plumbing and Electrical", I enter this into JUST the "Company" field. I do NOT enter a name into the "Full Name" field.
After syncing using iTunes, going through my contact list, I will see a duplicate of the John Smith Plumbing and Electrical contact. One will my original, and the duplicated one will have John Smith Plumbing and Electrical in the "Full Name" field.
Hopefully I have described my situation clear enough.
Is there a known fix for this?
    Thanks in advance

Go to contacts on your phone/ipad, click groups, make sure that the only checked contacts are icloud. That shoud do.

  • Synching Calendar between iPhone and Outlook 2007

When I make a calendar entry in Outlook 2007 on my PC, it automatically synchs with my iPhone through iCloud.   But when I make a calendar entry in my iPhone, it does not show up in Outlook anymore.  This just started about a month ago.  Under settings, in iCloud, I do have Calendar "ON."   I tried turning off Calendar in iCloud and then turning it back on - when I did that, the PC calendar that was showing there is now gone, and only the iCloud calendar is showing and it is checked.
    Any ideas?   Thanks!

yes they were set to the same timezone - which puzzled me a lot...
I lost a lot of sleep, but I can now say that I have solved the problem...
What I did was, that I un-installed microsoft office (desperate I know!) - then ran a sync with the iPhone choosing to overwrite the Calendar in the phone - as there was no calendar present - it deleted what was on the phone. Then I re-installed Microsoft office, by doing that, I didn't loose anything because the user files was still present including mail setting etc. - resynced the iPhone - and now it works...
Just can't figure out what went wrong in the first place...
    thank you for your answer

  • IPhone to Outlook 2007 sync

I've lost all pst files for contacts and calendars in Outlook following a crash and recovery disc procedure but they still exist on iPhone.
I want to transfer them across into Outlook 2007. I tried it once through iTunes and only succeeded in deleting all 280 contacts which was horrific until I performed an iPhone restore and got them back.
Does anyone have an idea on how i could achieve this please? I'm scared of trying again. Thank you in anticipation.

It is possible in principle. I have a similar problem. I'm moving from one Laptop to another and can't transfer the outlook content directly. I was hoping to get the content from the iPhone (in my case an iPod touch). I was succesfull on a parallels Windows XP setup with a brand new Outlook 2007 and iTunes 8.2.
Trying the samething on my main Windows XP laptop where I'm using an upgraded Outlook 2007 (originally used to be Outlook 2000) and an newly installed iTunes 8.2. it doesn't work. The sync goes for every but neither contacts nor calender entries do show up in Outlook. Trying the same procedure with another Windows account on that machine also does not help. Unfortunately there seems to be no proper debuggin/logging setting for iTunes which is a real pitty since I think a showstopper like this is unacceptable.

  • Help with Syncing Calender on my iPhone to Outlook 2007

    Hi Forum members,
I have just updated my iPhone to iOS5 and am enjoying the new iCloud features. I have setup my calender so that any updates that occur in my Outlook 2007 Diary (that I use for work) get updated wirelessly on my iPhone everytime the iCloud syncs itself.
However I have no way of reversing the process so that every new entry I create on my iPhone gets synced to my Outlook 2007 calender on my PC.
Im assuming its just a simple setting to allow 2 way communication between the programs...?
    Any advice?
    Thanks

No. 16GB of storage is still 16GB of storage. The space taken up will be the same on both devices.

  • Syncronize iPhone with Outlook 2007 calendar

    Hi,
I've had my iPhone 4 for a bit over a year. Regarding music, photos and video I'm sync with my private laptop and works well. Contacts and calendar I sync with my work laptop and it was working well up till just recently, when I got a new laptop and now when I'm trying to sync contacts and calendar I get the following message:
"iTunes could not sync calendar to the iPhone because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone"
For me this message is a bit like: "I didn't sync, because I couldn't sync". Really doesn't tell me anything.
Anyone that can help me to solve this?
iTunes version is 10 (10.1.4.10) and calendar is Office Outlook 2007.
    Thanks!
    Mikael

  • Error when syncing iPhone with Outlook 2007 since updating iPhone to 1.1.2

Since updating to 1.1.2 I receive this message "OutlookSyncClient has stopped working". I am running Vista Business with Outlook 2007. Prior to updating to 1.1.2 I had no issues. I have tested this running iTunes 7.4.3.1 and 7.5.0.20. My contacts sync with no issues, only my calendar does not work. Has anyone else ran into this issue and have you found a resolution/work around?
    Thanks,

  • Can' sync iphone with outlook 2007 contacts

Not able to sync my iphone to outlook contacts.  Have followed the suggested method regarding the trust center add-ins.

Is the iPhone syncing everything else in Outlook (calendar, notes)? Has it ever synced contacts? What happened that made you notice it wasn't syncing contacts?
You can try by resetting the sync history in iTunes first.

  • Problems with synching calendars between iPhone and Outlook 2007 on Windows

I recently purchased a copy of windows 7 ultimate 64. It was an English version, but since it is ultimate I downloaded and changed it to Danish - so far so good...
I have synch'ed between outlook and iPhone on a Vista platform without problems, but now on windows 7 when I sync - the result is, that on my iPhone the meetings, work schedules and birthdays I have in my calendar is shown a day too soon!!
I have checked that both iPhone and Outlook start the week on Mondays, so that is not an issue - I have updated my iPhone to the newest software with out any luck - so now I try and write here instead - hopefully someone can help me...
