Iphone fails to ignore or forget a wi-fi network

I want my iPhone 5 to ignore (or forget) a local wifi network. I have gone into settings>wi-fi>forget this network, but when I call for emails or connect to the internet over 4G / LTE, the iPhone asks if I want to join the network. I just hit "ignore", but it gets irritating to have to do that constently. Why is my iPhone 5 not ignoring or forgetting this network?

forgetting the network means that it won't automatically join it when you're in the area. it doesn't mean that it's going to stop asking you to join it. to make your phone stop asking you to join wifi networks in your area, you have to turn off the slider next to 'ask to join networks' at the bottom of the page when you navigate to settings > wifi

I hit Forget Network and now cannot get back onto my wireless home network. All of my other computers and iphones are fine. How do I get the network back? It shows in my list of networks but when I use the password and try to join it says not connected.

See if the iPad will accept the password after you restart it. It's worth a try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try a reset as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Can I set the iPhone to ignore my neighbour's locked WiFi Network?

I know you can set the iPhone to "forget" a network you've previously joined. But, how about my neighbour's network that's locked, that I've never joined, and keeps prompting me to join it? Can I tell the iPhone to ignore it?
I know I can choose to turn “Ask to Join Networks” on or off but I want to leave it on for when I'm out and about.

Maybe if enough people voice the request for this feature, Apple will finally implement it. Add one more user to that list.
It seems backwards to me that you can only "forget" a network that you have already joined. Why would I want to do that?? I want to "forget" the annoying secured network next door that I CAN'T join, because it pops up and asks me every single day of my life, and I want to block it while still automatically joining unsecured networks. If Apple can't figure out how to do that, then they should at least add the option to ignore secured networks.

Hello. I was like this yesterday after upgrading 5.1.1. The proccess failed and the iphone only showed the USB cable with the iTunes logo.
What I did was connect the iphone to my wife's PC, and there, with a clean itunes installation, install a clean 5.1.1. Then, went back to my iMac and connect it again, and now it works.
But now, with my iphone working as new, it still cannot be showed up in itunes. I am still working on it.

We have a few users with iphones who are getting automatically generated emails when trying to sync their calendars where they have recurring appointments.
The message itself is as follows:
Synchronization with your iPhone failed for 1 items.
Microsoft Exchange was unable to send the following items to your mobile device. These items have not been deleted. You should be able to access them using either Outlook or Outlook Web Access.

Here are some more details:
We are on Exchange 2007
The issue appears to be with recurring meetings
It is only happening for some users, not all
Mail, contacts, non recurring meetings, etc sync normally

Not sure if people are still looking at this post, but we did finally find a fix for the issue.
In the end we figured out that one of our exchange mail box users had something faulty in their profile. By "faulty", our exchange admins attempted to move the user's mail profile from one mail store to another, but exchange returned errors when attempting to do so.
In order to "fix" the issue we ended up deleting the mail profile completely from exchange and then recreating it from scratch - scary prospect when having to do this with someone high up the food chain... (prior export and reimport essential otherwise all data is lost)
(the user dealt with many meetings for multiple staff, and was a common factor between all users getting the issue)
I wouldn't call this specifically a MS issue as prior to ipad/iphones, these issues did not occur, and even while it was occuring, turning off mail on ipad/iphones meant the issue did not occur and other email clients had no issues at all
- so it looks like something in the iphone is not quite robust enough to be able to handle a few errors
(alternative theory: perhaps it is the iphone that created the issue in the first place??? We don't know when the issue with the actual mail account started and not enough resources to trowel through log files looking for a needle in a haystack)
Anyway, not sure if this will help everyone with the same issue, but thought I'd share our experience

Synchronization calender - itunes - iphone failed

Hello everybody,
since I use itunes 11.0.2 it is not possible to sync my calender(s) from my macbook with my iphone. I tried to use other calenders, try to sync with icloud, tried everything which I think is possible. But always with the same result: The dates from the macbook weren't transferd to th iphone during the synchronization. Is here anybody in the community who has an idea how I could solve this problem? For me it is mandatory that the calenders on both devices are the same.
Please, if one has got an answer please post it here!

Wifi connection to iphone fails after replacing sim card

the sim card on my iphone failed and had to be replaced. the phone works fine now EXCEPT cannot get wifi from verizon Actiontec router: says Incorrect Password. other devices (iPad, Kindle) still connect OK. please help.

Not sure if the sim card is envolved with the WIFI connections, But maybe it is.
Try deleting the connection and redefining it.

Try settings/general/reset/reset network settings. If that does not do it then contact your carrier

updated my iphone 5 and iPad 3 to iOS 8, when I try to call from the iPad using the iPhone, I get "call using iPhone failed"

I had this problem between my Mac and iPhone 5s. What is weirder is that I could place a call with the Mac, just not accept one. Reading through some of the docs, I noticed that it said "… same Wi-Fi network."
Now, when my Mac is on my desk, it is using a network cable connected to the same Airport base station as the Wi-Fi my iPhone uses. On a hunch I unplugged the network cable, using only the Wi-Fi on my Mac and it worked immediately.
So, make sure you are on the exact same Wi-Fi network (Not just that they are on the same base station — I have two setup on my Airport Extreme, one 2.4Ghz and one 5Ghz to keep older and newer devices separate [yes, it makes a huge speed difference]), ANDmake sure your Mac (if you are using one) is not using a wired connection.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
