IPhone Feedback

So, I have a question for everyone. I have been to the iPhone feedback link MANY times to give Apple some ideas, make requests and suggestions and I was wondering, do you think that anyone actually gives a hoot at Apple about what the consumers really want to see in future updates to the iPhone? It just seems odd that no matter what forum or chat room you look in, there are lots of requests and hopes that will be included in future updates and none of these are even included in the updates. What gives??

Unfortunately, I don't think that MMS should be in a priority category since the iPhone should have been able to do this function as it is. I mean, the free phones that you can get from ANY cell provider can do MMS so why can't a very expensive fancy phone? I understand that you can just "email" the photos, but that raises another issue. Why can't you add attachments to an email rather than having to send 30 emails for 30 separate pictures instead of 1 email with 30 pictures. AND not all regular cell phones have the capability of accessing an email account so even if we as iPhone owners/users can just email photos to someone else's phone, they may not be able to receive them either. What ever happened to iPhone users getting an SMS notification that we have been sent a multimedia message and to please visit this one website so that we can view the picture? Well, it would be nice to at least get that back, but then it ***** again because you have to REMEMBER the user name and password when you get to the viewmymessages.com website because the iPhone doesn't have a copy, cut or paste option either. I know, I know, just buck up and deal with it and I can, however these shouldn't be things that we should even have to talk about, they should already be a function on the phone. Well, regardless, I still love my iPhone, just wish that I could one up those BB users.

  • IPhone Feedback Link?

I was reading through the iPhone>Phone forum and I noticed a couple of posts requesting if anyone knew where to leave feedback for Apple in regards to the iPhone and when I went to check on the http://www.apple.com/feedback/ page for a link to post for them I was surprised to find it still is not there.
Is this something that normally takes awhile after the release of a product to have a feedback link posted there?
It didn't make sense to me that it wasn't there with such a huge product release as this. I assume one could post feedback for the iPhone to the iPod feedback link but that seemed rather confusing and not really appropriate for the seperate product of the iPhone.
Anyone know what's up with that?
    regards,
    littleshoulders [:-)

Good call, littleshoulders. I've been hoping that one would show up soon, too ...
If I recall correctly, it took a wee while before the Apple TV feedback form showed up (after the Apple TV went on sale). Fingers crossed, It'll just be a short delay with an iPhone feedback form.
It maaaaaay also be of some help if we submit a feedback request for a product feedback form. Thinking that the Apple.com feedback form might be the best one for that:

  • Submitting iPhone feedback...

Is it just me, or is anyone else struggling to find the submit button to submit feedback for the iPhone on this site? http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I'm seeing a message about reading some terms and conditions prior to submitting, but no submit button??

Actually who would've thought...it's an issue with Google Chrome, it's on the latest version.
I can see the Submit button in Internet Explorer 11.

  • IPhone Feedback Service with PHP

    0 vote down star
    HI All,
Has anybody been able to extract the device tokens from the binary data that iPhone APNS feedback service returns using PHP? I am looking for something similar to what is been implementented using python here http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=en&sa=N&cd=2&ct=rc#m5eOMDWiKUs/APNSWrapper /%5F%5Finit%5F%5F.py&q=feedback.push.apple.com
As per the Apple documentation, I know that the first 4 bytes are timestamp, next 2 bytes is the length of the token and rest of the bytes are the actual token in binary format. (http://developer.apple.com/IPhone/library/documentation/NetworkingInternet/Conce ptual/RemoteNotificationsPG/CommunicatingWIthAPS/CommunicatingWIthAPS.html#//app le%5Fref/doc/uid/TP40008194-CH101-SW3)
I am successfully able to extract the timestamp from the data feedback service returns, but the device token that I get after i convert to hexadecimal using the PHP's built in method bin2hex() is actually different than original device token. I am doing something silly in the conversion. Can anybody help me out if they have already implemented APNS feedback service using PHP?
    TIA,
    -Anish

as ^^ said, yes you can use it as an ipod touch. but just be sure NOT to update if/when the next update comes out, it may brick the phone, and you'll have to activate in order to use it again (as was with v2.0).
another thing, you may be able to get the ETF waived in such a case where reception at your house is bad. you'll have to talk it over with AT&T tho.

  • IPhone Feedback - is anyone listening?

Love the concept, now waiting for the following updates:
    1. ActiveSync - Support for push exchange mail. This is a must-have, or else I have to revert to my blackberry (not so cool, but email usability is way better than iPhone mail).
    2. Mail usability: Delete selection, search/find, archive/save mail
    3. Cut and paste
    4. Quick profile change to vibrate only mode (meeting mode)

    4. Quick profile change to vibrate only mode (meeting mode)
This is already present on the iPhone. Top switch on left side of phone (above volume rocker) will put your phone into vibrate-only mode.

  • Loud, obnoxious, intermittent iPhone feedback.  Help!

I have experienced the following both when using my iphone with a tape adapter in my car, as well as when it is sitting near my house speakers.
In the car, I will have the phone plugged into the adapter, listening to music, when all of a sudden this ear-piercing, shocking static-like shriek comes out of the speakers. It isn't just a bit of static...it's really, REALLY loud and has prevented me from using the iPhone in the car until now.
I'm interested in picking up some type of FM transmitter, but want to hold off until I know if it will suffer the same problem.
Can somebody help? I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere...I looked but couldn't find anything specific to my problem.
    Cheers,
    Tyler

Yes, unfortunately, this is completely normal. I have issues with it too.
Other than the obvious options (keep the iPhone away from speakers, get better speakers, Airplane Mode, etc.), pretty much the only thing you can do is to get a metal iPhone case that at least partially covers the top edge of the phone. This can increase shielding. (BoxWave's Armor Case is one such case. http://www.boxwave.com/products/armorcase/armor-case-apple-iphone_2661.htm )
In my experience, most silicon, leather, and plastic cases do not really provide any shielding whatsoever against GSM interference. This may sound a little silly, but you'll need to remember that "just because a case is shiny doesn't mean it's really metal."

  • IOS list incorrect for iPhone on feedback page

FYI the list of iOSes on the iPhone feedback page are not for iPhone: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Used Chrome 21.0.1180.89 m on Windows XP SP 3 to view the link.

And here I thought my question and the related product software support was just why "we" invented computers. Allowing the Apple iOS support team to push a button and have an iOS 5 user guide for iPhone 4 owners who previously used iOS 4.
But..... Tim and Co. didn't ask me.
So while I wait near my Inbox for that email from Tim that directs me to such a user guide, I'll continue to "catch" the iOS 5 info as I was doing.
    Thanks.

  • Voice memos on iPhone automatically go to iTunes

Every time I record a voice memo on my iPhone, it shows up in my music library in iTunes. SO I delete it. But is there a way to prevent it from showing up there in the first place?

I haven't found a way. It seems this is a "feature". "iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone." Page 15 of the User Guide.
If you really don't want this, let Apple know. Post to iPhone Feedback: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

-Date doesn’t show, except for the Calendar Icon sorta shows you date
-Calendar should work a lot more like iCal (event categories missing, landscape view missing, to-dos missing, ability to tap time to create event)
-Calendar not syncing correctly with iCal (at least for me using a Leopard seed)
-Can’t custom resize video or zoom in
    -Keyboard doesn’t rotate
    -Notes doesn’t rotate
-needs a file browser to be able to open docs and images that you've synced to your phone.. somehow.. (isync support?)
-A file system needs to be apparent so you can easily do things like attach multiple files in an email
-gets scorching hot if left on bed while you’re using it
-Alarm doesn’t allow an alert message to go along with your alarm (reminder)
-Weather app on home screen should change sun/moon/cloud images & temperature for your primary city without having to open the actual app, similar to how Calendar changes date without having to open app
-no Empty Trash function for e-mail and voicemail
-would be cool if had guitar tuning capability
-can’t send files via Bluetooth. What the **** is it on the phone for then besides headset?

-mic should act as 2nd speaker when not used as mic (if possible)
-Bluetooth not finding any devices (at least for me)
-No undo, especially when editing your contacts makes it a nightmare
-Add Field entries made under Contacts editing should be stored so user can easily use the entry again
-Contacts need a default Comments or Notes label
-In Contacts, user should be able to move/sort/arrange custom labels to their liking
-option to hear sounds every time you press a button, not only keyboard
-ability to choose sound for a particular function, for example, say you didn’t like the “New Voicemail” sound, you should be able to change it like you can do in a Treo
-certain photos won’t show up ONLY in “Add Photo” mode when editing Contacts, you just get a black screen
-iPhoto should not come to front of screen when syncing (it does for me in a Leopard seed I’m using)
-Ability to check for new mail every minute, not a minimum of 15!
-Option to keep current screen on when phone is locked for a certain amount of time, like a Treo
    -Wallpaper slideshow and video capability
If Apple thinks that they can intentionally leave “key” features out of the iPhone just to make us think that the iPhone2 is a “significant update”, then Apple isn’t the company I thought it was. Make your phone the “best” it can possibly be for the time it comes out. Don’t leave out “standard” smartphone technology that will make people think twice about trashing their Treo or Blackberry. Adding true GPS or upgrading the internal memory is a different story, but things like the inability to copy and paste, the inability to record video, and the inability to use voice dialing should definitely not be issues with iPhone’s release, especially due to the fact that Apple had more than six months to test the thing. I really hope Apple fixes a lot of these “flaws” immediately or else iPhone won’t be as successful and as respected as it could have been.
Just trying to help. Please forward this to the appropriate iPhone Development department.

  • Reception / Battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

  • Reception problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

AFter upgrading to 4.2.1, my 3GS iPhone is experiencing bad signal, bad quality and frequent disconnections.
This was repeated even after my provider replaced my device to a different 3GS device, running 4.2.1.
inserting my SIM card to a NOKIA phone, showed strong signal and good reception.
Did anyone experience reception problems on 3GS running 4.2.1??

  • Why is there no way to delete all emails from my iphone?

Why is there no way to delete all emails from my iphone? IOS 7.1. Every other phone in the market allows you to 'select all' then delete.
This trick of selecting one, then holding move, then unchecking (and subsequently moving all the emails to trash) doesn't work. I've read these suggestions and while it appears to work the emails just show up again once you leave and return to the inbox. Perhaps it worked on an older version of IOS.
It blows my mind this is not a standard function. I get a few hundred emails at work every day, and most of the time I just want to delete all of them from the phone as I've read them already. Currently it seems i can only click edit and then have to check each email individually to be able to delete them at the same time; this is the definition of tedious. I would think there are millions of other iphone users who get their company email on their phones that must experience the same thing. It seems now i either spend 20 minutes a day deleting emails, or just let thousands of emails accumulate on the phone (taking up space and also making it hard to just review the most recent emails which is all I want to be able to do when checking email on my phone).
I am hoping I am just missing some simple solution here that everyone else uses. Please help!!
    Mark

Only Apple could answer as to why there is no "select all/"delete all" function in the iOS mail app. Users have been bemoaning this lack of functionality for years now. Like everyone else, you can submit feedback to. Apple here.
    Apple - iPhone - Feedback
While I understand the whole idea of being able to use the phone on the run, if you have an IMAP email account, and if you have access to a computer at work during the day, use your "select all" function on the server and delete all of the unwanted email there and it will be removed from the phone as well.
That doesn't solve the problem on the phone, but it gets rid of the email which is your ultimate goal anyway.

  • CoPilot will not upgrade due to lack of space on iPhone

This issue is occuring on both a 3G and 3Gs phone that we own. I have read on forums outside of here that others are having the same issue. When I origally tried to install CoPilot it told me there was not enough free space to install the 1.3g app. My phone had 5gig free at that time. I uninstalled some videos to free up more space and got it to 11gig free. Still got the same message of not having enough free space. I unplugged the iphone, shut down iTunes and rebooted pc. CoPilot app then installed. After CoPilot installed I resynced movies and all was fine. Same exact thing happened on both phones. Then 2 days later CoPilot came out with an update. I ran into the same issue for the update. My 3g had 9 gig free and iTunes still said it could not install CoPilot for lack of free space. I have looked at the other forums and they say to look at the "other" section of storage on the iPhones, but both of these phones show little memory usage there. My theory is that in the code of CoPilot someone put in an extra digit in the memory requirements and instead of looking for 1.3 gig of free memory it is looking for 13gig of free memory. It is a real big hassle to delete things off of iPhone just to get an app to install.

I have this exact problem, but with slightly different figures. When I originally tried to install CoPilot (which is about 1.5 Gb) there was about 4 Gb free, but the install continually failed due to lack of space on the iPhone (16 Mb 3G). I had to remove a load of music to get enough space to install.
Now there's a CoPilot update and with even 3.5Gb available on the phone, I just get that same error and it won't install. I then deleted CoPilot so there was almost 5 Gb free and tried again and I think it is now OK (currently sync'ing, but very slow).
I don't think this is a CoPilot issue as many users seem to be experiencing similar problems with other apps. I think perhaps it's more likely with CoPilot because it is relatively large. But the fact remains that the iPhone seem to need more than 3 times the size of the app in order to even update it which is truly a PIA and takes a lot of messing about to get around the problem.
Anyone know of a fix to this? I guess it's really a bug and needs to be reported to iPhone feedback).

  • Itunes cannot sync due to lack of space on iphone, but itunes also indicates 8GB free?

So im trying to sync my phone to itunes, and it clearly says there's 7-8 gb free in the space bar on the itunes iphone window. However whenever i try and sync it tells me I need 500 mb of additional space.
Anyone come across this problem before?

  • Albums vs. artists, where to submit feedback/complaints?

Is there a place to send Apple design feedback?
When viewing albums, why does it split the albums up into separate artists? It's incredibly annoying when it's a compilation album. There's a tab for that, it's called ARTISTS, I'm supposed to be viewing by ALBUMS!
(come to think of it, didn't it used to be the other way around way back in the original version? If you're going to add a feature like that, make it as an optional setting!)
