IPhone freezing when installing or uninstalling application during sync

hi,
I've been running to issues with iPhone freezing during install and uninstalling of Applications during iTunes sync. The installation or remove seems to complete after I force reboot iPhone, but sort of troublesome as I'm having to reboot iPhone for every app I try to install or remove. Also, when trying to install or remove application from iPhone's appstore, iPhone gets very unstable and the installation or remove of application never completes.
Is anyone running into this issue? Any workaround (maybe I need to use Mac instead of windows xp ... ?)

I think finally figured out the problem...
This was due to one of the application I had (purchased) installed called "Wisdom dictionary".
This has been taken off of iTunes already but apparently this application was causing other application to not install. The application is about 120 megs, and the company is currently investigating some memory issue related to expanding the installer. It appears to be Apple issue, they are in contact with Apple, but apparently there is no info from Apple when the issue would be addressed....
Anyway, without this application, my iPhone so far has been working pretty well.
It may be possible other large apps may have similar issues.... not sure.

IPhone freezes when installing OS upgrade

I have a 16GB iPhone 5 that was in process of upgrading to the new OS 8.1, and when it was about 3/5 of the way through the install, it froze. No progress has been made for the last 3 hours.
I am not able to quit out of the install, I cannot reboot to try a new install, I cannot restore to factory settings to start from scratch. Any ideas how to get my phone back?

FIXED IT!
Found an Apple support page called "Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset" that instructed me to press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appeared again, which it did.
Then the screen turned white with a black Apple logo, and I was presented with a slide button that asked if I wanted to complete the upgrade, which I did, and within 3 minutes, my phone was back and fully operational.
WHEW!

Why does my "backing up iphone" freeze when installing the new iOS5

When i plug my phone into the computer it asks "would you like to update to the ios5 etc" when i hit update it "prepares my phone for back up but it never starts the back up. It freezes in the itunes window and does nothing. I have let it sit for an hour before and there is absolutely no movement in the backup status bar.
How do i fix this?

If using Windows iTunes, you may have to set your windows or anti-virus firewall to disabled or learn mode. I dad issues upgrading to iOS 5 with my iPad and this allowed the backup and synch functions to talk to apple. Good luck...

Problems with iPhone freezing when trying to answer while on another call?

I am wondering if others are having the problem with your iPhone freezing when you are on a call and another calls comes in. I have had this problem repeatedly. If I try to answer a call while on another call, the other caller can not hear me. when I try and hang up the call...iPhone freezes and disconnects ALL calls.
I do not have a problem if I initiate BOTH calls for a conference call. I am hoping that Apple is aware of this issue and are working on a fix in the next update. Whenever that will be???

I have noticed that during or at the end of a conference call when one party hangs up all parties have always been disconnected. I can tell you that if this is the way it works normally, this is not the way is should work. This is a pain in the butt when it is necessary to call one of the parties back since that party is also trying to call you back. You both get a busy signal.
I do not have a problem answering a second call during a time when I am on a first call. It will place the first call on hold and I will only be talking to the second party. It should work that way. My iPhone works that way.
It should also allow you to add the second call to the first call through the 'merge' feature so that both the first and second calls can be joined together. My iPhone works that way.
My previous Treo worked great on these situations but I do have burps with the iPhone.
I think that the problem is with the iPhone and AT&T interface in these conditions.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
See:
Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.

I can download Windows Media Player and Stuffit expands it into 'Windows Media Installer' but then it always freezes when installing...gah...does anyone know anything about this?
[I've read the other topics where people can't get it to expand, but this is different...no error messages or anything]

Cannot install USB device, install wizard freezes when installing SiLib.sys

I have installed LabView and all the software required for running a program for tremor evaluation. When I plug a TremorScope via USB connection it starts Hardware Installation wizard, but the installation does not complete and system freezes when installing SiLib.sys. The OS is Windows XP.
Do you have any solution how to finish the installation or what is going wrong. Thank you for your help.

Why don't you ask the vendor of the device? It does not have anything to do with LabVIEW.

Arch completely freezes when I run certain applications

Arch completely freezes when I open Steam or when I attempt to play a YouTube video. They will open, but shortly thereafter Arch will freeze entirely and the only solution is to hold down the power button on my computer.
My computer's specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 520
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

I checked systemd's journal and the consistent factor that stands out in the entries is the first thing on every list: "Failed to open private bus connection: Failed to connect to socket /run/user/1000/dbus/user_bus_socket: No such file or directory"
As for the problems with the Nvidia drivers, I have no idea. Although, after a quick search on Google, I've found that apparently I'm not the only one with similar issues.

EDIT: I now have the Nvidia drivers installed. I used a patch that I found deep within the Nvidia forums. Now I'm going to try the applications out to see if they work.

IPhone freezes when sync is in 'backup' stage

I recently started getting freezes every time I sync. Its very predictable:
connect iPhone
sync begins
sync starts to 'backup'
iphone freezes
This happens regardless if its a automatic sync or if I turn that off and do it manually. The only way to sync is to bypass the backup step by changing sync settings and hitting apply.
Sometimes if I delete the backup and it has to make a fresh one it will work, but the last time I tried this it did not (first time it failed to work).
I called apple and they had no idea and said it needs service. I can't test it on a different Mac...maybe user account...so I'm not sure if its a software thing with my system.
FYI...I have restarted, reset, reinstalled re-everything. I have done all the usual steps. NO matter how much or how little data I sync, it freezes so turning off photos/music/etc does not work.
Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. In a different thread I have found a partial solution; it will do an automatic sync without the "apply" trick but it will not make a back up:

Imac pointer freezes when installing OSX,

Imac intel 2010, mac freezes when Scrolling (Safari, Adobe PDFreader. called support, they suggested a hardwaretest, done that result OK.
Than they suggest to clean HD and to instal OSX.6 again.
Deleted HD. Try to do new installiation OSX6 from dvd, Imac freezes again during installation for several times at ca. 32 minutes to go.
What can i do?

You can attempt to reset the PRAM in the machine, but it looks as though there's a hardware problem. It's actually kind of difficult to determine if it's the graphics hardware or the mainboard, but neither are really servicable. You'll want to take it to get serviced.

RW-00003 when install the R12 application node in Solaris

Hi all,
After successfully install the database tier in another node, and give the correct database connect string when I try to install the application node. But I get the following error:
RW-00003: The specificed file cannot be written. Locate a valid file. /export/db/tech_st/10.2.0/appsutil/conf_VIS.txt
/export/db/tech_st/10.2.0/appsutil/conf_VIS.txt seems to be the database node path, did anybody meet this?

I just check the installation document, the share filesystem is for multiple Application Tier node share. But now, I am try to install the primary application node, and will be only one appplication node architecture, so I am wondering it is necessary to create the share file system.
During the database installation, the configure information has been upload to database, and after I get the database connection to database when install the application tier, it seems to read all the relative information from database. Just meet the issue with cannot write the configure file in Database Tier.
