Iphone getting hot got replacement and this one is doing the same thing

After having it since November 2011 my iphone 3GS started getting hot to the touch last week and would not come on in any way. I went in and it was under warranty so they gave me a replacement and now this one is doing the same thing. UGH! Why?

Yahoo services have been having problems today, so I don't doubt that mail is one of them. They are having trouble updating the Weather app as well.
What is wrong with your voicemail. Remember that voicemail is a carrier function. The only thing Apple has to do with it is how it is retrieved. Can you describe your problem a little more clearly than "totally screwed up"?

I'm wondering whether or not to get yet another warranty exchange for my ipad 3 over this horrible screeching sound associated with the home button. I was told at the Apple Store by the technician that he had never heard of this problem before and they gave me a new one. Now a few weeks later the new one is doing the same thing. Try going to Settings > General > Siri and turn off Siri. Now try to activate Siri with the home button and you should get the voice command system (similar to Siri). Does it screech?
Next, go back and turn on Siri. Then back up your iPad to iTunes or iCloud.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Does Siri still screech?
Lastly, Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings. When the Set up screens show up, choose 'Set up as new..." and skip everything you want to. Test Siri again and see if it screeches.
If it does not screech when set up as new, then you may have something corrupt going on in your backup. You can restore form your backup and see if the issue returns. If it does, then go back and set it up as new again and maually set up your accounts and apps again.
If the issue continues even when set up as new, go back to the Apple Store.

Itunes worked for about 30min. and then quit working, now it says there is a problem and shuts down. TGried uninstal and reinstall but it does the same thing. Will not run.

I keep losing my sound on my 5s iphone. It will work fine, then I use some apps and I lose my sounds. The click when I turn it off, the notification when I get a text, the notification when I send an e-mail, but most importantly, the sound on videos that I watch on facebook. Don't know if it's related to facebook or what? I went to my carrier and they sent me a refurbished iphone. I got it yesterday, but today started doing the same thing. Most of the time, if I turn the phone off and then turn it back on, it works, but I'm so frustrated, I don't know what to do. Anyone else have this problem? My carrier didn't know what the problem was.

You transfer the data (including text messages) and settings from your old phone to your new one by backing up your old phone and restoring this backup to your new one (see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109). This must have been what your girlfriend did.
If you never backed up your old phone and it doesn't work now, it's too late.

This phone is not doing this.

Are you using a case around your phone? If yes, did you make sure the proximity sensor is not covered?
Try without the cover to make sure the sensor is working.
A protection film on your screen can also cover the sensor and result in a dysfunction of the sensor.

This happens if I upload too many HD photos at once. You are overworking the processor. Just leave your phone off and put it on top of a plastic bag of ice to cool it down. To keep this from happening you have to remove apps from the multitasker by double tapping the home button when the phone is on the home screen or in an app, then hold down on an app, then just press the little red minus signs. This won't delte the app, it just quits them (for example: quitting Skype will not allow you to recieve calls, quitting Facebook will stop you from receiving messages until you reopen the app, quitting the Phone app will not stop you from getting calls or texts though). This will save a great deal of battery.

I tried the deactivate/activate that was suggested it still didnt work. I took the ipod to a friend and hooked to her laptop and it synced fine but now trying to sync on mine it wont do it and it has the backup encryption on but no passwords will unlock it. itunes will reccognize the ipod and the iphone but while going thru the sync steps they both get to step 2 then lock up itunes and then says its syncing but will never stop. I am very frustrated and am regretting buying products from Apple.

It seems to be a glitch or bug. Its been officially acknowledged and addressed by Apple. There is no resolution other than waiting for a few days. The Kb article by Apple states it will fix itself on January 7.

The program is for replacement since Apple does not repair iDevices...you take your non-working or damaged iPhone to an Apple store genius bar, or send to Apple service, and they provide a refurbished unit as a replacement, for a fee, of course. You will have to talk with Apple to see if you get all components or just the iPhone replaced.
With AppleCare+ you can have two out-of-warranty replacements for a cost of $49 each.

Take the system to an Apple store to be fixed or replaced as the one you have has defective hardware.

Why do you need to access your email? To reset the password?
