IPhone GPS not working with 2.0.1

Recently i got a new iPhone 3G in the UK (with O2). As soon as i plugged into iTunes, it updated to 2.0.1(5B108). After that I havent been able to use GPS servies. I can get driving directions, but it cant find my 'Current Location', neither can other applications like 'Urbanspoon' find my current location. I have seen some posts on this subject, and have tried shutting down 3G and turning off & on the 'Location Services' options. But none of this have helped. All the searching around (the turning wheel at the bottom) is draining the battery. Any suggestions for incresing battery life while using features would be helpful too. Any view on the GPS

Then if you are using a mac, hold down alt and left click on the restore button in Itunes then locate the downloaded file (make sure Safari doesnt unzip the firmware file, use firefox if you can) then just let it finish updating the firmware and restore from the previous backup. (you might have to put the phone into DFU for itunes to restore it but if you are not comfortable in doing this take the phone back to where you bought it)

I have encountered an issue with both my iPhone 3GS and my wife's 3G (mentioning that so I'm pretty sure it's no a specific unit's issue).
Whenevr I travel abroad, whether it's Europe or, say, Central America, the GPS function does not work. This is the case whether I have the plane in Airplane Mode or not. I can make calls etc. through the foreign carrier when I'm connected to the cell network. Data roaming is OFF, but I didn't think that was necessary for GPS. Basically, what happens is I open google maps, and try to locate myself, and it thinks about it for a while, and then tells me it cannot determine my location. Oh yeah, also tried when on Wi-Fi and still no GPS. I don't want to enable data roaming but, again, I didn't think that was necessary for the GPS function. What am I missing?

Factors that can degrade the GPS signal and thus affect accuracy include the following:
* Ionosphere and troposphere delays — The satellite signal slows as it passes through the atmosphere. The GPS system uses a built-in model that calculates an average amount of delay to partially correct for this type of error.
* Signal multipath — This occurs when the GPS signal is reflected off objects such as tall buildings or large rock surfaces before it reaches the receiver. This increases the travel time of the signal, thereby causing errors.
* Receiver clock errors — A receiver's built-in clock is not as accurate as the atomic clocks onboard the GPS satellites. Therefore, it may have very slight timing errors.
* Orbital errors — Also known as ephemeris errors, these are inaccuracies of the satellite's reported location.

* Intentional degradation of the satellite signal — Selective Availability (SA) is an intentional degradation of the signal once imposed by the U.S. Department of Defense. SA was intended to prevent military adversaries from using the highly accurate GPS signals. The government turned off SA in May 2000, which significantly improved the accuracy of civilian GPS receivers.

That will only make it possibe to go backward.. You will end up back with the IOS 5, but at least you will have a working phone and it will bring back all your contacts and everything else that you ever had backed up on icloud and on your computer. There might be descripencies with the Applications but again this is an issue easily solved, you can always download them back.
Two more things: One, you do not have to download the old version of the itunes, the newest version worked for me without any issues
When choosing to download the older IOS 5.1.1, you will need to figure out whether your carrier is GSM or CDMA but you can easily google this info online..

IPhone does not work with IPOD Dock to select next song / pause - play

After using the iPhone at the gym, the IPhone quit working using the remote for the Docking station to navigate to next song nor pause / play. Suspect Iphone connector....
Also the iMuffs Headset bluetooth adapter that plugged into the iphone connector quit working. Tested iMuffs bluetooth connector on another iPhone and is still functioning.
any ideas?? clean connector?? short?? service??
Note, the iPhone still syncs with iMac via docking port (USB). So the connector is not totally bad.

Have you tried a reset...and if that doesn't work ..a restore? Back up your phone before you restore.

IPhone 5 not working with Honda

I have a 2011 Honda CR-Z and when I connect my iPhone 5 to the USB jack I either get an unsupported message or it only loads 54 of my 450 songs. Anyone else having this type of issue? Is there a fix?

Since my earlier post related to my iOS 6 iPhone 4S, I've gotten my iPhone 5. From time to time I have to unplug the phone from the USB interface on my 2009 Civic and replug it in. Haven't had a time where that didn't work. I have noticed some related problems if I open Waze (GPS nav app with audio out) before I make the USB connection.
Maybe check and see if you have any apps other than the Music app open that have their own audio output (Maps with turn by turn on?), and totally exit them (don't merely put them in the background) BEFORE connecting the phone to the car. Couldn't hurt to try.

Ok I have an iPhone 3GS and a car kit from Belkin that uses the aux jack in my car, if I plug the cable in the GPS stops working. I tried different cables different car and tried my wife and daughters iPhones all with the same result. I have G-Maps, Motion X, AT&T Nav, same outcome all 3 apps.

weird, cause I use it daily for GPS, for the sound. it is a sound ouput, don't how it is possible to interfer with the GPS. In my car I have to specifically choose the audio source for the car kit (from within the kit). What do you mean exactly it stops working?
what happens if you plug in a headset? Myabe try in different car!

IPhone 4s not working with AirPrint

I just got a new HP 7510 that is definitely AirPrint capable. It works with my MacBook Pro using AirPrint. The iPhone sees the printer and when I go to print from Safari or whatever it says : "preparing Page 1 of 2 And then just quits. iPhone and printer on same network and like I said the phone sees the printer. All firmware is current. Any ideas?

Wifi from iPhone hotspot not working with iPad 2

I cannot get my iPad 2 to connect to my iPhone 4 via the personal hotspot feature. If it does connect, it does not connect to safari or mail.

I assume you have verified that the iPhone hotspot works with another computer.
It might help to reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will then need to reconnect the WiFi.

IPhone 4 not working with Sony docking station

Hi guys,
My iPhone 4 is no longer working with my Sony SRS-GU10 docking station. It connects with the docking station and charges, but there is no sound.
I've tried to reset my iPhone, but that didn't work. I've turned off the bluetooth and that didn't help. I blew into the iPhone connector and the docking station and got it working for 10mins. It's just strange how it's just stopped working! Just wondering if it's knackered or can be fixed???
