If you purchased in the UAE then it must be returned to the seller in the UAE for repair or service under warranty
NO Authorised servicer in India will touch it as it did not originate in India
If you purchased in an UNauthorised seller in UAE then you will have to find out where it came from for any warranty support

Is GL_OES_compressed_paletted_texture really supported on iPhone hardware?

The "iPhone Application Programming Guide" document, in the "Drawing with OpenGL ES" section, says that GLOES_compressed_palettedtexture is supported by the iPhone hardware.
But there's a post in the ImgTec forums, at http://www.imgtec.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=128 , that says paletted textures are not actually supported by the PowerVR MBX Lite hardware.
So what's the real story? I don't want to use a bunch of paletted textures, only to consume far more memory than I was intending to.

Upon further reading, it's clear that the iPhone hardware doesn't support paletted textures -- they're internally expanded to texels the size of palette entries.
So, if nothing else, you may want to consider 16-bit palette colors, e.g. GLPALETTE4_RGBA4OES, GLPALETTE8_RGBA4OES, GLPALETTE4_R5_G6_B5OES, and GLPALETTE8_R5_G6_B5OES.

No, an iPhone 6 purchased in the US will not work on 4G in the UK - it is not designed to.
Why on earth are you considering purchasing an iPhone in the US to use in the UK? Basically, it is a completely instance idea to do this - if you live in the UK and are going to be using the phone in the UK on the 3 network, then buy it in the UK.
If you buy the phone in the UK, then you get 4G coverage and also EU warranty cover should anything go wrong with the phone.
If you buy the phone in the US, you will not get 4G on the phone and you will have no warranty cover for the phone either, as iPhone warranty is NOT international, so it means that you will have to fly back to the US should anything go wrong with the phone.
You also will not save as much money as you think you will. There are local taxes as well as other taxes to pay on US phones and when you come back to the UK you may have to pay import duty and VAT on the phone too, so all money you thought you saved will probably work out at the same price, so you won't really have a phone that you can use fully - no 4G and no warranty cover.

Don't know until you troubleshoot. First step is a reset:
hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

IPhone hardware failure in 1 yr 2 months! Can anything be done for replacement?

I had purchased an iPhone 5 in Nov 2012 here in India (Bangalore) for ~ Rs 45,000.
However for the past few months it started crashing mysteriously. For the last few days the frequency of crash increased to 20-30 times a day (from the previous 2-3 times a week). Recently after a crash, it rebooted upto the "Recovery Mode" screen only.
I tried with the latest iTunes to do recovery but it always failed at the _end_ of writing the new software. I even tried the DFU mode, but that too fails right at the end of writing the new software. Sometimes it gave error 12 and sometimes error 9. I've tried different USB cables just to make sure there was no problem there but to no avail!
I then showed it to the Apple service center folks here (service is provided by an Apple authorised service unit - Ample) but they too were unable to fix it. They said it was a "rare" internal hardware failure. They are asking me to cough up Rs 21,000 for a replacement unit!
It's barely 2 months out of the warrannty period when the dam phone crashed. This is real poor quality of service from Apple. Is there anything I can do to get my unit replaced? Is there an escalation I can do to get someone's attention in fixing my issue?

For the first part, that does beg the question whether this is something that is more of a problem with iCloud than it is other providers, for whatever reason.
I'm not a huge fan of anecdotal "evidence" in general, but iCloud mail does seem to have the worst reputation for missing messages when compared to Gmail or even Outlook.com, at least going by a quick search. For other iCloud mail users, does this ever concern you? Any former iCloud users who left for similar reasons?

IPHONE HARDWARE CORRUPT

After updating my iphone with 7.1.2 latest update my phone`s network stopped coming. After few days i found out My SSID Number of phone is getting on and getting off.
I talked with Apple customer,they helped with me some ideas but in the end they suggested to visit Apple service centre.
I visited Service centre and they said problem is with hardware and nothing can be done except changing the phone with Rs 19000 price as phone is with out of warranty.and also with 3 Months warranty
My Phone is Just 18 Months old and if it gets faulty due to hardware issue that too after updating software from apple only.
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ?

hi.. i heard that the with the release of new software 3.0... there will be some hardware changes also...like faster chipset.... so,if i get a new 3G now, will i be able to upgrade software to 3.0
one more question is if i can open MS-office application like word, exel etc with 3G ( do i have to buy a seperate software or will it be included in the kit itself)

No one knows anything for sure about new hardware, and we are not allowed to discuss rumors or speculation on these forums.
The answer to your question is yes, if you get the iPhone 3G right now you will be able to upgrade it to the new 3.0 software when that is released later this summer.
You can open office documents as email attachments and view them. There are also several apps in the app store that allow you to transfer documents to your phone and view them, I don't believe there are any that let you edit them at this time.

The 3G has 128MB RAM. If it's a 3GS, it has 256MB RAM. Are you sure it's a 3GS and not a 3G?

I have a friend that is a carpenter and when he went to verison to purchase a smart phone they told him not to get a iPhone as it would not hold up to rough use. is this true? they talked him into another smart phoneIPhnoe

My friend has a case for his and he can throw it across the street and into a pool and it will hold up. Even though it was in a case, having the conveniance of an iphone with a almost indestructable case how can you go wrong with that. Also ive seen many iphone with cracked screens that still operate and android touchscreens just stop working.
