Iphone hot to touch when removed from holster

After a couple days of carrying my iphone around in my pocket I needed a case for my belt. I went online and ordered a case that stated “iphone” with a magnetic flap which is what I used with my blackberry. After a few hours in the case I took the phone out and it was HOT to touch. It also had no service and gave me some error stating I should contact Apple support. I powered the phone on/off and everything was back to normal. I tried the case again with same results. Is the magnetic flap causing a problem?

It sounds like your case may not be the culprit.

  • Feature Request - Do not unlock automatically when removing from Holster

    Currently, when the device placed into a BlackBerry OEM holster and then removed, it will automatically unlock the screen unless you have a password set, in which case you'll be prompted for the password instead.
    I would like to see an option added to disable automatic unlocking upon removal from the holster, regardless of whether a password is set or not (so that when you remove the phone from the holster, you must still manually unlock it using the power/lock button, swipe up from the bottom of the display, or using the U+Enter keyboard shortcut).

  • Phone hangs up when removing from holster case

    Hi, whenever i receive an incoming phone call and i remove my 8830 from the clip-on hoster case, the phone call is "missed" because likely a key is pressed, or the track ball. How can i set the phone such that when a call comes in, i can remove the phone from the case without it hanging up on the person? thanks, chris

    Try changing your phone general options to set the Auto End Calls to Never, and possibly Auto Answer Calls to un-holster .  You might be triggering an accidental 're-holster' signal as you pull it out.

    I just purchased a new computer and downloaded I tunes but when I go to sync my iphone and ipad touch my library from my old computer doesn't show up on the new one. Only the purchased itune songs come up. How do I get my original itunes library?

    Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

  • Delete emails from server when removed from phone inbox

    I want my server (Verizon Yahoo) to trash and delete messages when I trash or delete them on my 5s. I have gone into my Verizon account on the phone, made sure Trash was selected rather than Archive, selected "Delete from server..."when removed from inbox"", restarted, etc. Everything else works in the account, and when I delete on the server, it is deleted on the phone. I want emails to delete from the server when I remove them from the phone's inbox. Supposed to happen, but doesn't.

    Thanks for the reply. I wasn't very clear, I guess. What I want to do is Trash or Trash>Delete emails on my iPhone 5s and have them go away from the inbox on my Verizon/Yahoo server. That does not happen now, even though I have set the setting on my phone to do so. All the stuff in my inbox on the server reappears the next time my phone inquires, including the emails I've sent to Trash (on the phone) and those I've Trash>Deleted there. Not too worried about permanent, real, NSA-type deletion, because that just isn't going to happen - I am worried about the poor agent at NSA who has to read my boring, mundane emails, though. I just don't want to see stuff I've Deleted from my phone's inbox come back to the inbox. Zombiemail!

  • Things to consider when removing from AD domain a SQL Server 2008 which includes Reporting Services

    Do any one have a link to a list of things to consider when removing from AD domain a SQL Server 2008 which includes Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services?
    I am taking from an Active Directory domain several servers with SQL 2008 and Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services. The server will stay on its own without association to any domain, the server will keep its IP address and
    the server will not change names.
    I have done some research and I got the basic steps including, removing the user accounts from the domain, changing the services accounts, changing jobs and databases from being owned by users from the domain. But...
    Are there other things in Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services internal databases that have an association with the domain AND that will fail after no longer being in the domain?
    I've heard of Reporting Services subscriptions failing when the domain user account is no longer there...Are there any other got ya's that any one has encountered?
    Please advice.
    Note: I am posting in this forum basically because of what I heard on Reporting Services, but it may be a better idea to post into a more broad forum such as SQL Server Migration section.
    Thanks beforehand

  • My HP dv6 1030us laptop becomes slow when removed from AC power

    Hi,
    My HP DV6 laptop has windows 7 operating system and it behaves pretty weirdly .
    It becomes really slow when removed from AC Power and have to restart my system to bring it to normal speed don't know why its behaving like that and help to resolve the problem would be greatly appreciated and also my system gets overheated a lot and I have to use a cooling pad always to keep it cool and running properly along with AC power
    I would greatly appreciate any advice in resolving these issues.
    Thanks in advance.

    for how long have you had this laptop... If you had it for longer than a year you may be dealing with a dust bunny (acumulation of dust in the vent that's right beside the fan). Normally when that vent is clogged you get the type of overhetaing you may be experiencing, so i recomend you to open it up and give it a nice clean as soon as you can. As for your computer slowing down without the ac adapter.
    Do you know under what power option are you running ur computer?

  • Resources automatically deactivating when removed from Active Directory

    This is a simplified version of my previous question:
    What causes some resources to successfully deactivate when removed from AD, while other Project Server 2010 accounts have to be made inactive manually?
    Also, if a resource is made inactive or deleted in Project Server, is it expected that their SharePoint account will be completely deleted?
    Thanks!

    When you remove the user from AD group, that account will become inactive in the next AD synchronization in Project Server. When the account is inactive, it will be removed from the PWA as well as all the workspaces.
    In 2007, if you make the user inactive, it will deactivate project server access, but the user can access the project workspaces
    In 2010 onwards, When the account is inactive, it will be removed from the PWA and workspaces.

  • How long would the iPhone 4s battery last when shipped from the factory and going to be opened on Christmas?

    How long would the iPhone 4s battery last when shipped from the factory and going to be opened on Christmas? Or how long does the iPhone battery last when it is off? Or would I activate the iphone 4s with a flat battery?  Thankyou

  • How can I use my iPhone'hot spot to send email from my computer ?

    Hi,
    My land line is dead ... so no phone nor internet at home.  But I can use my iPhone'hot spot to get on the web from my iMac.  Great ... it works !
    Oups !   I cannot send email from my computer using my iPhone's hot spot with Mail.
    How do I do that ?
    Regards.
    Robert Lespérance

    Hi iCare,
    Thanks for helping ...   All that configuration is already done.  I am able to surf the web from my computer using my iPhone's hotspot.
    When I want to send an email from my computer, I get a message asking me to select the the SMTP server.  Then I select my usual ISP server, but the message comes back telling me it does not work.
    Is there any other configuration to do ?

  • IPhone hot to touch

    Is it normal for a iPhone to be hot on the back side? Cause mines sure does.

    I have had an iPhone since June 30th. It has been enclosed with an iCase skin since the middle of July.
    It should not get hot with or without the skin on. Normally when the iPhone heats up it is due to one or two things.
    1) You may have a malfunctioning battery. If the second item listed below is not the cause, you should take the iPhone back to Apple for an exchange. This can be accomplished through the store or AppleCare.
    2) If you have too many functions operational at any one time, such as YouTube, WiFi, internet, it is possible for the phone to heat up. If the iPhone, as you say, is too hot to touch, that is not normal. Too many functions will warm the device. Make sure that you have stopped those functions that you are not using and then see if it warms up as you indicated.

  • How to keep photos in folders when removing from iOS?

    I usually use Preview on Mac to import photos and delete them from the iPad. I've started putting photos in folders but this organization is not maintained on import. Is there a way to maintain this when importing? Or even better: is there a way to leave certain folders on the iPad and import/delete the rest?
    Of the photos that have been imported, is the folder data maintained somewhere so I can reorganize them? Maybe I need to find a better method of importing & deleting.

    arphaus wrote:

    iPhoto, Image Capture, Aperture...but I have never heard of using Preview to import photos to the Mac.
    Folders/albums that you create in the Photos App on the iPad are for local organization on the device itself and will not import to your Mac. These folders/albums do not contain copies of the photos, but merely use pointers to the photos to make the pictures appear in these local albums. If you create new albums in the photos app and try to remove the photos from the camera roll, they will be removed from the folders as well.

  • IPhone 3GS is hot to touch when being used.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

    FIRST reset it - hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears. Next try each of these steps, and one of them will fix it. Once it's fixed you can skip the rest. After each step reboot the phone (hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears, ignoring "Slide to power off"):
    1. Settings/General/Reset - Reset network settings (you will lose WiFi passwords, but nothing else)
    2. Settings/General/Reset - Reset all settings (you will need to reset some additional settings, but will not lose data)
    3. If you have Push email accounts: Settings/Mail,Contacts,Calendar - tap on the account name and switch it off (the account, not Push). Open the email app; verify the account is gone (and let the mail app know it is). After rebooting, go back to Settings and turn the account back on. Wait an hour before testing to give it time to sync back to the server.
    4. Turn off Notifications in Settings. Test for a day. If the problem has gone away you have an app that is using data when it shouldn't be.
    5. If you have EVER launched Game Center go to Settings/General/Restrictions and disable Multiplayer games. You will have to set a passcode to do this; DO NOT FORGET IT.
    6. Look at the apps currently in the quick launch bar. When on the Home screen double-press HOME. tap and hold any app so "-" signs appear. Kill any apps that might use background such as Facebook, Skype, Yahoo, music streaming apps, etc.
    7. If you have gotten this far and not fixed it you probably need to restore as New.

  • Mac Mini Get's Warm/Hot to Touch When Powered OFF

    Question...Does your Mac Mini become WARM or HOT to the touch especially in the rear and on the bottom when the Mini is completely powered down, but still plugged into an outlet?
    I leave mine turned off when not around it for extended periods of time. I don't usually leave any computer on when I'm gone for a while. Anyhow this past Wed. I came home and went to turn it on. It was incredibly warm on the rear side with all the connectors and especially on the bottom, but this was before the machine was even turned on.
    The external power supply was warm and there was nothing unusual about that.
    This is the new 2.0ghz mini and I've had it for less than two weeks. Do all Mini's get warm like this when they are turned off???? Cause that's really weird.

    Please note that I was not quibbling with the characterization of your experiences - the early G5 iMac and iBook logic board issues alone are clear indications that sometimes Apple gets it wrong.
    Whether lucky or not, I have not experienced these types of problems with Apple equipment, and along with my own systems I've bought and had responsibility for some thousands of them over the years - along with a fairly liberal dose of various PCs, and a probably similar lineup of earlier systems as you. I've found most to be reliable, and amongst all those, my 1986 vintage SE is still going strong, and one of my favorite systems is a late 1999 first generation G4 powermac which has run 24/7 since it was first unpacked - less a day for some upgrades to be fitted and the occasional update-derived reboot. My first-generation G5 DP has been superbly stable, never failing once, and it's a rare event that I get called to deal with a problematic Mac.
    However, no number of positive experiences from others negates the negative you have experienced. The point is that for one side there is almost invariably a counterpoint. I must say, however, that if I had experienced a similar list of issues, I'd likely not have Apple written anywhere on my shopping list for future products - I suppose it speaks somewhat to the nature of the product when it works, that you're still a customer!
    But still, all that aside, I would call Apple regarding the heating of the mini. That it might be warm to the touch after being off for a while would be expected, but I don't think it should show any greater signs of heat than that. Sadly I couldn't tell you for sure until early next week, since the one C2D we have is being kept busy! I will ask the user to shut it down at the end of the day however, and check it on Tuesday morning.

  • RemoveEventListener when Removed From Stage?

    I am sorry if this is a truly basic question, but how would I code as3 to remove an event listener when the current frame (in my case, section of my site) is no longer on the stage?
    Take the following code as an example:
         function onClick(event:MouseEvent):void
              doSomething();
         mc1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
         mc2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
         mc3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
    How would I remove these event listeners when the user navigates away from this section of the site?  Being limited in my knowledge of as3, all I can come up with is:
         function removeListeners(event:Event):void
              mc1.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
              mc2.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
              mc3.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
         parent_mc.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, removeListeners);
         //where "parent_mc" is the main timeline of the current website section
    Obviously, this is not the correct solution, because it makes no sense to add an event listener just to remove some others.  In regards to best practices, how do I remove event listeners when the "section" in which they are utilized is no longer on the stage?

    use:
         function onClick(event:MouseEvent):void
              doSomething();
         mc1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
         mc2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
         mc3.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
         function removeListeners(event:Event):void
              mc1.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
              mc2.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
              mc3.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
    parent_mc.removeEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE,removeListeners);
    mc1=null;
    mc2=null;
    mc3=null;
         parent_mc.addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, removeListeners);
