Here's some pictures of my car accident last week. My iPhone was on my dash, and was tossed about even more than I was (I was wearing my seatbelt). My iPhone was wearing its Contour Showcase, which was completely destroyed; in fact, I couldn't even find it. I was able to call my wife from my car, which means that my iPhone landed near me, although I don't remember. I took these pictures with my iPhone later that day:

My iPhone was in a pretty good accident; one in which a good deal of my stuff was destroyed. My iPhone made it out fine, and functions as designed. I hold no grudges on remarks--I'm sure all was said in jest. Thank you all for your concern; the people around me and the prayers and sincere concern that I've been shown since my accident has indeed softened the blow of the accident itself.
The reason for my post is to see if anyone has had similarly intense stories of the iPhone making it through a rough situation and working. I know most people treat their iPhone as more than just a phone, and feel that it is a special piece of equipment. The fact that the first thing I did in my post-roll stupor was reach for my iPhone is a telling one. Just wanted to make sure it was ok

I have a dilemma with my iphone 4s. I accidently dropped my iphone 4s by accident. The screen is not cracked. However, there is a green tint with a white line on the screen, even though I can see the icons and everything. Any way to fix this?

So yeah!! Any one can tell what should I do now? Should i open the case of the iphone and tweek the lcd cables back in place?

All they were asking is if someone could tell them what was wrong with it.......It sounds like your inner LCD screen cracked. I had the same problem. Mine was out of warrenty though so I actually bought the part off of Ebay and replaced it myself. The front screen and inner LCD are connected so you have to buy them the same way to fix it. It was like $28 and came with the tools. Just FYI. Obviously if you are in warrenty....have apple fix it.

If you had these messages on your phone when you last synced and haven't synced your phone again since losing them, the messages will be contained in the backup created when you synced (unless you are backing up your phone to iCloud). If you restore your phone to this backup it will return your messages to your phone. (If you have already syned again since losing them then you have already overwritten your earlier backup and your messages are lost.) Restoring to a backup will revert all data and settings you your phone to those contained in the backup, not just messages. If you have more recent data on your phone that you want to save you must do this before restoring it from backup. If you want to restore from backup, do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences. On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

Seems like you have to add money to your account to finish the download.
However, what may work is to sync with your computer. Next would be to restore from backup.

Locked out of Guest mode on iphone 5 help?

so I have guest mode enabled on my iPhone and I accidently triple clicked and I don't remember the passcode Ugh.

There is no "Guest Mode" on an iPhone. Perhaps you mean Guided Access? If you don't remember the passcode, you may have to restore your phone. However, try resetting it first by pressing and holding the Home and power buttons until the apple appears.

Setting up folders in mail for iphone 4 & a grumble or two

So i have this new iphone 4 and I am having difficulties setting up folders inside my inbox. For example I would like to set up folders for Junk Mail and Read It Later but I don't want to set up another email account to do so.
Almost all of my settings on my iphone are by accident not design, lol.
And even though I have rung the apple service centre on numerous occassions:
my iphone has turned itself off because it overheated and I was told by apple technical support to turn the phone off at night!!!
and it wants recharging after five hours of continuous use;
so - I am having serious issues with Apple actually calling the iphone4 a "mobile".
End of grumble.
If anyone can help me with the folder setup in mail, I would appreciate it.

The ability to create folders in the mail app is dependent on the type of email account that you have. It is not quite like Outlook where you can set up local folders no matter what type of account you have. The iPhone email client does not support the creation of folders if you are using a POP account. Only if you are using Exchange or IMAP, as those are created on the server side. The overheating issue sounds as if something is stuck running since it is running the battery down that fast. However, it makes me want to question what you mean by 5 hours of continuous use. Do you mean using for 5 hours straight, or it being in standby for a period of time as well?

Broke my iPhone screen and also can't restore ?

So i dropped my iPhone 4 on accident. Like half of the screen cracked. Anyway, when i tried to turn it back on it wouldn't. It kind of just turned a light black. I called it & can hear the ringtone & also when i get emails. The touch screen doesn't work though i can't unlock it or anything like that. I tried restoring it & updating it but i need the passcode & i can't put it in.. So what's wrong with my iPhone? Do i need a new screen or do i just need a new iPhone in general. I don't mind the crack so much but yeah. I still have the 1 year warranty but i don't think that matters. Help

Accidental damage is not covered by warranty. An out of warranty replacement phone is $149.

If you have a back up with the video on, you'll need to restore your phone, if so is your back up in iTunes or iCloud.

Need help with backing up problems with Iphone 4

I just recently backed up my iphone because I accidently deleted all content on phone... So when i got home a day later i backed up my phone and everything is back except apps, contacts, and music. so my phone looks almost brand new. and now when i plug it in it has the option to back it up or start it new again AFTER i had already backed it up several times.... Anyone know a solution to my frustrating problem??

10 GB is pretty marginal. The problem is that previous backups were "incremental", recording only changes to the previous backup. Now you are making a full backup of the iPhone 5 (iTunes will keep the last iPhone 4 backup around) so you need enough free disk to do a complete backup rather than incremental.
Try restarting your Mac. That usually frees up a lot of memory (temporarily).

IPhone 4 won't restore from backup - Not Enough Space

My wife deleted some photos from her iPhone 4 by accident and we are trying to recover them. We hooked her phone up and tried to do a restore from backup but we are getting an error saying there is not enough space on the iphone. How can that be if the backup came from the computer? How do we get the photos back or how do we get iTunes to restore the backup? Please help!

We called Apple and they told us to take it to the Genius bar and they would be able to help us restore the photos from the backup file that is on my wife's laptop. We haven't had a chance to take it in yet though. I'll try to post our results once we get in there.

Iphone (original) -screen problem

My iphone screen was accidently hit at the corner of a table.
initially a small pinkish spot with few small greyish lines developed.
But after one day, from the spot two -three thick horizontal lines along the breadth have developed and its growing.
Please advise me wat to do .
I dont have an warranty.

Cracked iPhone 6 screen

Hi, I stupidly dropped my iPhone 6 by accident and in the process, the screen is now cracked. I do have insurance but is it worth making an appointment with Apple (the phone is two months old so I have the years warrenty) or going through insurance to get it repaired?

Thanks for the replies. Apple have available appointments over the weekend so I was keen to get this resolved ASAP to be honest. Unfortunately, it's awkward to do during the weekday. I know I'll have to pay either way which is fine, I just wasn't sure whether it was imperative to go through insurance or visit Apple myself.

Do you mean you selected Erase All Content and Settings at Settings > General > Reset?
