Iphone interfering with laptop wifi

When i am on my laptop and my iphone is connected to my wireless netowrk (linksys wrt54g) my laptop will connect to the network but it will not let me surf the web, it just stalls.. Why is this? if i turn off wifi on the iphone then the laptop starts to work.. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello everyone. I have personally found that the following tips work for me in my own home environment.
1. Keep cell phone 10 feet away from computers and just waring my BT headset. Depending on your cellphone plan you can easily have these calls forwarded to a skype line of some sort. Which will reduce the need of having to have the cell phone near the computers. You can also use certain software to forward SMS alerts to the computer you are using.
2. Update WiFi card and other driver updates for your personal machine.
3. Updating Router Firmware as some of the updates will help improve stability and performance. (Check your router manufacture website for more info on firmware updates.)
4. Changing the Radio mode from Mixed mode to a more precise mode. Like B/G only, G only, B only, N only, etc.
5. Changing the channel on the router from Automatic to a channel from 1 to 11. In hopes of hitting a channel that will pose less interference with cell phones
6. As stated earlier if needed you can activate Interference robustness on Airport Routers, and on the Tiger OS
7. Raising the router and re-locating the router to provide better signal will also decrease potential drop outs and disconnects with the computer.

If your Bluetooth is working, you may be able to tether your phone to another device, and backup that way. Either via iCloud or one of many Apps that send yourself a VCF file containing your contacts.
You may have to update to a later IOS via USB and iTunes, not sure if IOS 6 has Bluetooth Tethering.
I would have thought you could also switch off cloud sync'ing for your contacts, this should ask a question if you want to keep the contacts on your phone. An iTunes Backup and then Restore to your new iPhone should restore the local contacts. Then sync these back to the iCloud.

If you were using a Mac you could use a program but AFAIK there is nothing similar yet for the PC.
However, you should have a backup of your music, correct? Just restore from that backup to your computer (and, if not, at least this will teach you the importance of always backing up your music purchases onto writable media like DVD).

My Magic Mouse is interfering with the wifi of my Retina Macbook pro

Brand new Retina Display MacBook Pro with a brand new Magic Mouse and I can't use the mouse when I am browsing the web because it interferes with the wifi - for some unknown reason. Anyone help?

That can happen when your Wifi is on the 2.4Ghz band as bluetooth uses this also.
Change the Wifi channel to a lower channel like 1-3. That should reduce/eliminate the interference.

MacBook Pro retina display - BlueTooth interferring with my WiFi conncetivity

MacBook Pro retina display about 3 years old - when I turn on BlueTooth, it interfers with my WiFi conncetivity causing the browser to freeze while navigating pages on the web

IPhone 4 with sporadic WiFi interruption

Hi all,
since month I experience quite some WiFi disconnects which least for 10 - 60 sec with my iPhone 4. Making phone calls via WiFi or streaming music is not possible anymore. This happens in different WiFi environments that the WiFi network itself is not causing the issue. At home with my Apple Airport running on WPA2 the disconnect happens every 3 - 10 minutes while other devices like an iPhome 4S, a PC and a MAC is working fine.
How can I troubleshoot WiFi issues now on the iPhone?
What I did so far:
Endless ping where you can see timeouts during the disconnect.
On the iPhone you can see the display switching shortly from WiFi to 3G and back.
In the Airport log you can't see any disconnects but you can see that the audio streaming was disconnected.
Sometimes I think that the Auto-Lock function is causing the disconnect but this is not any time.
I clean up the processes on a regular basis. The effect comes up even if you just run one app after a reboot.
I'm running the latest iOS (5.0.1) but had this effect as well before. It was working before but not sure what was changed as the effect begun.
I'm quite expert in networking but here I have no idea how to proceed. Is there a log file who is tracking the WiFi connection to see, what's going on here?
Any help is very welcome.

Hi all,
after some more investigation over the last 2 nights I could shrink the issue down to my profile.
I created a new apple ID and after a iPhone full reset I logged in with the new ID. Here everything is fine. No WLAN interruption. Then I went for another full reset with a restore of my old profile. After the iPhone spend the night in installing quite a few apps, the WLAN interruption was there again this morning.
Any idea on how to troubleshot the profile issue further or any idea on how to move my messages from one profile to the other? I don't have a problem in starting from scratch again with a new profile, just the messages (SMS) are missing.

IPhone interfering with office emails

My iPhone is set up to receive the same email accounts as my office Macs, but when the phone is in the vicinity of my office wi-fi system strange things happen to my non-MobileMe accounts that are accessed by my Macs. The presence of the iPhone causes one or other mac on my network (out of five) to fail to receive mail - Mail says that the POP Server rejects the password forwarded by the Mac. If I turn off the iPhone normal service is resumed.
There does not seem to be any limit on number of Macs accessing the Pop Server (I have two machines elsehwere which access it simultaneously with my office network) but as soon as the iPhone appears the availability of these accounts to my macs is restricted. My MobileMe account is not affected in the same way - it remains available to Macs and iPhone simultaneously.
Does anybody know what is happening?

Connect the iPhone to a computer running iTunes and use iTunes on that
computer to restore as a new iPhone which will wipe current content.

Microsoft have told me to download a WOA app for each device and subscribe to Office 365. Then use an exchange program within Outlook. Is there another simpler and cheaper method. The Office 365 sub is $99pa. Can I use icloud?

Synch iphone calendars with laptop and visa versa

Hi, firstly there used to be an i messenger where you could connect directly with the support staff to help yo resolve issues, has that service stopped now?
I cant get my calendars to synch, I add something in outlook and I cant get it to my iphone and visa versa... infact my ipad, iphone and pc have different information in the calendars for tomorrow... well today as its 00:40 now! Any ideas?

You want to make sure that you add new events to the iCloud calendar in Outlook. If you add an even to your default Outlook calendar, it will not sych to iCloud. iCloud's calendar and the Outlook default calendars do not synch. Instead, iCloud creates additional calendars in Outlook -- additional calendars that never synch with the Outlook default calendar. So does iCloud "synch" data with Outlook? Not really. A better description would be that iCloud data is visible in Outlook. I keep looking to see if Apple or a third party has fixed this problem, but have found no solutions so far.

I think my XFi card is interfering with my WIFI card on my ASUS A8N-E m

Both in PCI slots.
When both are installed, wifi card randomly stops working and locks up my computer frequently and randomly for about half a second. The connection isn't slow, it just stops working for short periods of time. The same short process load spike occurs when I disable the wireless manually.
I moved my X-Fi card to a different slot and the same problem occurs.
When I have both installed, and I disable wireless, the problem goes away.
Do you think this could be an IRQ problem?
My set up:
x900 XT
gig Corsair RAM
ASUS A8N-E 939
AMD Athlong 64 3500+
802.g wireless PCI card Airbus
Windows XP
(X-Fi extrememusic card)

BTW, I disabled onboard sound completely. Didn't solve a thing.
It HAS to be a problem with these conflicting or something. My computer only gets that process load spike when I disable the wireless in windows XP. It seems like windows is disabling wireless, enabling, disabling, enabling, etc.... with out letting me know. That would explain the connection loss and the CPU spikes. Why is this only happening when I have my X-Fi soundcard in? No drivers had been loaded for the X-Fi card when it was doing this.

My wireless is sharing with my videocard... which isn't causing a problem.
But when I put in the sound card, it has IRQ 0... which isn't sharing anything... so maybe this isn't an IRQ problem? Man... i am just so confused.
I spent the 4 hours reading online forums and stuff trying to figure this out. It seems nobody has the same problem as me.
Please help!

Looks like your WIFI and your grafics are sharing IRQ 8.
The X-FI does not appear in that list.
Either way its not good that way. Try to use the WIFI in a different slot and see what happens.
