IPhone interfering with office emails

My iPhone is set up to receive the same email accounts as my office Macs, but when the phone is in the vicinity of my office wi-fi system strange things happen to my non-MobileMe accounts that are accessed by my Macs. The presence of the iPhone causes one or other mac on my network (out of five) to fail to receive mail - Mail says that the POP Server rejects the password forwarded by the Mac. If I turn off the iPhone normal service is resumed.
There does not seem to be any limit on number of Macs accessing the Pop Server (I have two machines elsehwere which access it simultaneously with my office network) but as soon as the iPhone appears the availability of these accounts to my macs is restricted. My MobileMe account is not affected in the same way - it remains available to Macs and iPhone simultaneously.
Does anybody know what is happening?

Hello everyone. I have personally found that the following tips work for me in my own home environment.
1. Keep cell phone 10 feet away from computers and just waring my BT headset. Depending on your cellphone plan you can easily have these calls forwarded to a skype line of some sort. Which will reduce the need of having to have the cell phone near the computers. You can also use certain software to forward SMS alerts to the computer you are using.
2. Update WiFi card and other driver updates for your personal machine.
3. Updating Router Firmware as some of the updates will help improve stability and performance. (Check your router manufacture website for more info on firmware updates.)
4. Changing the Radio mode from Mixed mode to a more precise mode. Like B/G only, G only, B only, N only, etc.
5. Changing the channel on the router from Automatic to a channel from 1 to 11. In hopes of hitting a channel that will pose less interference with cell phones
6. As stated earlier if needed you can activate Interference robustness on Airport Routers, and on the Tiger OS
7. Raising the router and re-locating the router to provide better signal will also decrease potential drop outs and disconnects with the computer.

  • How do i sync iphone contacts with office for mac 2011?

how do I sync iphone contacts with office for mac 2011?

I manage all of my email in Outlook, delete email and trash it however the update isn't reflected in the Cloud and\or Apple email.  I have to then open up Apple mail and delete again.
Then something is setup incorrectly, which version of OSX are you on, and is this an iCloud mail address (@mac, @me or @icloud)
From your description of the issue I suspect that it is Outlook that is incorrectly setup.

  • IPhone not sending office email

Here's the setup. Office computer running Windows 7 and using Office 2007.The office email is POP. We don't have exchange.
I have a bran new iPhone 3Gs. I plug in the iPhone, go to the info tab and select sync contacts, calendar, and mail. After syncing I can receive email on the iPhone but can't send. What else am I suppose to do?
I have been searching but can't find an answer to my question. Thanks for your help.

Those settings will be dependant on your email provider. Check the outgoing mail settings on your desktop, and set the iPhone to be the same. That should resolve your issue.

  • Time Capsule Interfering with office wireless

I would like to setup my Time Capsule to be able to do my backups and to print to two different printers. Today the IT guy said that I will not be able to use my Time Capsule as Wireless Router to get to the internet because it is assigning an IP address (10. something) that is interfering with the other router in the building.
Is it possible to still use my Time Capsule to print to the two printers (one USB and one network) and do my backup wirelessly without having the TC interfering with the wireless network? I don't need the TC to get to the internet.
I just got a replacement TC from Apple because the old TC died. I had the old TC connect printing to both printers and performing backups but it was connecting to the internal network and it was a hotspot. It was the only hotspot in the office for over a year but within the last year a few wireless routers were placed throughout the office. The wireless routers were knocking individuals off a lot and the IT guy could not figure out what was wrong. I guess when I hooked the new TC the last night it knocked out both the wireless routers and also the main router. Once they unplugged my new TC all routers came backup.
I hope I can still use the internal network cable but not create an access point to the internet.

Does the Plusnet router have ethernet.. if so plug the TC WAN port to the LAN port of the router.. and set the TC up in bridge mode.
If the Plusnet is wireless only your doomed!!
TC can join a wireless network but it is really poor.
So please explain and we can work from there.

  • Safari interfering with Comcast email functions?

I have Comcast internet email and recently I noticed that the function of choosing font color won't work anymore. When I choose a color and start to type, no print shows up and when I fiddle with it it just reverts back to black. At first thought it was Comcast and contacted them. They had me check through another browser, I tried Firefox, and the font color with my email in Comcast worked fine. So that leaves the problem being with my Safari browser. It used to work just fine with Safari but apparently as Safari updates it messed something up. Any ideas, how to correct this?

    HI,
Get Font Finagler which will clear your font caches.
    See if that helps.
You may also have duplicate or corrupted fonts. Go here for help.

  • Syncing two iphones each with different email accounts

My wife and I each have an iphone. When I sync mine with itunes, my password for my yahoo mail account (as reflected on the iphone) gets changed to my wife's password. The result is that I cannot send email from my iphone. When I delete the account and add it back, the password automatically changes again. My wife's phone does not have this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Once you have your iPhone syncing email properly for each phone (one at a time), next time you're in iTunes, click on iPhone, then the Info tab then scroll down to where you can choose to sync your email accounts. Since you already have it synced, you can uncheck it. This way it won't get overwritten. If you ever need to replace ALL your email settings you can have it sync again.
Do the same with your wife's.
My wife and I use the same iTunes and get conflicts all the time for this and for Contacts. I'm sure there's a way to have them coexist nicely, but I wouldn't sweat it. Once your mail is working, there is no need to continuously have them sync.

  • Parents iphone and my iphone activated with same email, now parents gets my text messages from freinds?

Hi my parents iphone(4s) and my iphone(5c) were activated with the same email now when I get a text message(imessage) from a friend they also receive the message my friend sent, so how would I turn this off on their phone; because I dont want them to read what my friend is sending me?

    Hi cloudhalo,
Based on your description that both phones are receiving each other's messages, you may need to make sure that the phone numbers aren't both linked to the same Apple ID, and/or adjust which addresses the phones are set to send and receive messages from. You may find the information outlined in the following article helpful:

  • Second iphone synced with my email

My husband just recently got an iPhone from his employer.  He has his itunes account and was trying to sync with it but when he was setting up his new phone it ended up loading MY email accounts to his phone, even though he logged in with his apple id/password.  When the new phone set up asked him if he wanted to use my account as a back-up he said NO (and I was there to see him click 'no')  My email accounts are for my business and it could cause a great deal of issues if he can load them onto his phone.  Question...is there a way to prevent this from happening?  A way to make the settings so that my itunes/apple account would not recognize his phone?

The Apple ID has nothing to do with this.
When connecting a new iPhone to iTunes on a computer that is used to sync with another iPhone, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone to the new iPhone, or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone. This cannot be prevented.
If he chose to set up his iPhone as a new iPhone, transferring email account settings from the computer to the iPhone is not selected by itself. This must be manually selected under the Info tab for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Nothing is pre-selected under the various tabs for a new iPhone's sync preferences with iTunes. Everything must be manually selected, which has nothing to do with the iTunes account that iTunes is logged in with at the time.

  • I have an IPhone 5 with 2 email accounts and I can't seem to change the sound for my primary account. When I change the sound it is for my secondary email account which I hardly use. How do I change the sound for my primary account?

Try going to Settings>Notifications>Mail, tap your primary account, then tap New Mail Sound and set as desired.

  • Settings of previous iphone interfering with new phone

My new 3gs is getting numerous errors when I sync it to itunes, like 'specified file not found' etc. Importantly, it views the new phone's storage at 4 gigs, not 16. How do I fix this?

Restore in iTunes as a new iPhone - don't use a backup.

  • I have two Iphones with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID. Will that cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

I have two Iphones 5 with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID account. Both are using IOS 8.
I would like to set up a new Apple Id for one of the phones and remove it from the old account.
If I do that, can I move all of the purchased apps and songs to the new Apple account?
Also, will sharing one Apple ID account with two devices cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

Sharing an iCloud account between two devices can be done without causing issues with iMessage and FaceTime, just go into Settings for each of these functions and designate separate points of contact (i.e. phone number only, or phone number and unique email address).  While that works, you'll then face the problem where a phone call to one iPhone will ring both if on the same Wi-Fi network -- but again, that can be avoided by changing each phone's settings.
Rather than do all that, don't fight it -- use separate IDs for iCloud.  You can still use a common ID for iTunes purchases (the ID for purchases and iCloud do not have to be the same) or you can use Family Sharing to share purchases from a primary Apple account.
