Iphone ios 5 update stalled and now iphone says connect to itunes but itunes does not read a device is connected
Trying to update to IOS 5 but having problems - the iphone now wants to connect to itunes (picture on screen) and when connected to laptop via usb iphone not recognised (ie might as well be unconnected!) - help! If I reset the iphoneit comes back to the picture screen requesting connection to Itunes!

My Computer has just had a new windows package installed and now my "Device is not recognized" when I plug it in?
Microsoft Office is a program you would need to reinstall again.
As for data backup if you baid 200.00 for a cruddy job for just picture backups and a reinstallation of Windows, thats pretty bad.
I would ask the technician where your data is. basically you want to ask if he backed up your User directory -
I lost my profile on my PC and I copied everything over to a new profile.
I uninstalled Itunes and then reinstalled the latest version.
I added all of my music files to the itunes library
I tried to sync, but my latest download is not transfering from Itunes to the Ipod.

Help Please !!!!Do this. If all the synced media like apps and music are alread in the the iTnunes library just backup the iPod and restore from that backup

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

So i tried updating my iPhone last night to ios 6. Soon after the update began, iTunes said an error occurred and the installation stopped. now my phone is stuck on the itunes logo with a usb plug under it. I have tried everything i know of. turning the phone on and off/trying the reset thing with the power/home button does nothing. plugging into the wall does nothing. when i plug the phone into my computer, the sound of a device being connected happens, but iTunes does not recognize a device. no message pops up about a device in recovery mode or anything. I uninstalled then reinstalled everything apple-related, did not fix the problem. I'm not overly tech-savvy, but if anyone has any suggestions, lemme know please. ive spent well over 5 hours trying to fix this thing to no avail
OK i figured it out. you have to put it in DFU mode before itunes will recognize the phone.

Hello, someone stole my sons IPhone today in his gym class. I have the "find my iphone app" on my phone BUT he is not a listed device. I went into his itunes account and downloaded the "find my iphone app" app under his account. When I try to log into "find my iphone" under his name on my device I get an error msg involving icloud......he is MUCH better at this stuff then I am BUT he is in school and now I need to figure out how to use the "find my iphone app". PLEASE HELP
It doesn't matter whick account you use to download the app.
You have to sign into the app (or iCloud.com from a web browser on your computer) with his Apple ID & password.
Find My iPhone will only work if it was enabled in the iCloud settings on the device and it was powered on with a connection to the internet -

Someone put my iphone passcode in wrong to many times and now it says connect to itunes there is some stuff on my iphone which i havent backed up and i will loose if i restore my iphone what do i do?
If the phone is disabled, you have no choice but to restore it. You will lose the data that was not backed up.

When I connect my iphone to my iMac, iTunes does not open automatically, even though I have the "open iTunes when this phone is connected" option checked. I'm on the latest Snow Leopard with iTunes 10.4 and use an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.4. I think the problem began with the latest iTunes update.
Found the answer in another discussion! Here's what worked:
"I also had the same problem, iTunes 10.4 wouldn't launch when connecting iPhone 3GS.
I unchecked "Launch iTunes when this iPhone is connected", restarted, launched iTunes and connected iPhone, rechecked "Launch iTunes when this iPhone is connected". I was asked if I wanted to install iTunes helper and said yes. All works again." -

I have reset my iphone and made sure all updates have been done on my macbook pro and iphone. It was after updating my macpro that I plugged in my phone and went to itunes to backup phone and can't see the device anywhere! Thanks CI also had issues with my 4S. I just got the 5S and can't get it to read my phone. It did it once and I was able to download my music, but can't get my ringtones and i have 25 ringtones that I can no longer get to after paying for them!!! Please HELP. It no longer sees my phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled I Tunes mltiple times.
