IPhone iOS4 Exchange emails continue to re-download.

We have several iPhone iOS4 users whose emails download, disappear and re-download. Seems to be a continuous loop. Tried the following solutions:
1. Delete and re-create Exchange account on iPhone.
2. Reset Network settings.
3. Installed network config profile.
Any ideas?

Something like this came up a year or more ago and the conclusion was that it was to do with the way Exchange handles users who are barred from the server - a setting in which users are seen by Exchange to be no longer on the authorised access list and so all the company content is deleted. And then it comes back .... but I don;t think anyone found a solution as it was an intermittent issue.

  • Iphone Microsoft Exchange email

    Good morning,
I have read the iCloud privacy documents that imply that IMAP mail stored on mail serviers is not encrypted.  However, if I am using the iPhone Microsoft Exchange ActivSync connector and the iPhone downloads and keeps a local copy of the email so I can read it off-line  If I backup my phone to the iCloud does the Microsoft Exchange locally stored email get backed up?  If it does not then that is great.  If it does then is it encrypted or not?
    Regards,
    Paul

already did that several times.  Even changed the password to see if that would work.  Completely erased phone and started over.  no help either.

  • IPhone Deletes Exchange Emails To Wrong Folder

    Hello all!
I have a Microsoft Exchange mail account setup on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1) which works wonderfully, short of one aspect:  Emails deleted from my phone do not go to the accounts standard 'Trash' folder, but to a different 'Deleted' folder.  I can see no way to change this setting.  Any ideas?

Thanks Templeton.  This is the only definitive answer I've found anywhere.  Turns out my iPhone was correct and my other email clients are sending to the wrong folder!

  • Having to reset iPhone for Exchange email to work

I've been experiencing lag on email notifications and email delivery from the exchange server at work. Other fellow workers use blackberries and don't have this issue. The delay can range from a few minutes to more than an hour, sometimes the email is there but the audio notification never come thru. Enabling or disabling the wifi does not help, only when I reset (restart) the iPhone all emails come thru including the audio notifications. I'm to the point where I have to reset my iphone once or twice a day to receive emails. Has anyone experienced this? and is there a fix for it?
    Thanks!

I have the same issue and it's happened about three or four times in that many weeks. It just happened twice yesterday (hope the frequency is not increasing). And I'm not sure if it's tied to restarts or some other event. One time I think I'd just used the Dashboard Mouse Key 3 shortcut and within a few minutes later it wasn't working. Can't remember what happened in between, but I don't think there was a reboot...
Hope someone has a solution soon... Or maybe your bug report to Apple turns something up...

  • Outlook and Iphone 4 Exchange Email behaviour

I have set up my iphone 4 with exchange activesync and believe that the basic function works but I experience odd email visibility behaviour. When I receive a new incoming email exchange will push the email out to my iphone but when I open outlook on my workstation this causes the mail item within the iphone inbox to disappear (I use this term as it does not seem to exhibit deletion behaviour). Can anyone help? This is an example of the add behaviour but I have others that seem to be related. I have many read emails in my exchange inbox but none of these are synced with the inbox on iphone, again can anyone help?
    Thank you

You will need to see if your e-mail provider can provide a POP email server instead of your current IMAP account.
That way your iPhone and Server will no longer be in sync

  • Iphone Exchange Email Keeps Re Downloading

    Hi
I have an iphone 4 with the lastest iOS 5.1. I use 3 email accounts Gmail, Yahoo and my work Exchange email.
Since the last 3-4 days ONLY my exchange account keeps re-downloading my emails. I have tried
    - Resetting
    - Re-configuring
    - Deleted accounts - adding them again.
    - adding only exchange
    - removing iCloud
    nothing works!
please help.. as per my office admin staff the server settings are fine and all other iphone users dont have this problem.
    Thanks

I had the same issue. I am using an iphone 3gs ios 4.3.5. My problem was solved by installing a profile. Details given on this link:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3398
Although the link talks about IOS 4.0, I tried it on my 4.3.5 3gs and it seems to be working since the last one hour!
I Will update the thread if this does not work in future.

  • IOS4, MS Exchange Email and Wifi???

None of my MS exchange emails were coming to my iPhone 3GS (with iOS4) yesterday. Today I turned off wifi through Settings (when I was at my office) and now I can receive my MS exchange emails - through 3G and Edge.
Then I turned off 3G in settings and although slower, I did receive MS exchange emails.
Hummmm.... I wonder if this is AT&T or Apple trying to get us to use 3G or Edge exclusively to increase our Data usage?? Since we don't have to pay for wireless Data...... Or could MS exchange be holding out upgrading their software?
Now I will test my bosses' new iPhone 4 to see if I can "fix" her MS exchange email issue by turning off wifi.....

I'm having the same problem. eMail messages are downloaded, I can see that happen. However, the eMail messages are not in my iCloud Inbos. Nor do the eMail messages go to my gmail Inbox. Strangely most, but not all eMails, can be found in gmail folder "Important".
I also had the same problem with Mobile Me, unfortunely at that time I did not have a gmail account. Those missing eMails from the Mobile Me Inbos were never recovered.

  • After upgrading to iOS 8.2 on iPhone 6, Exchange Push email does not automatically update over wifi. Ideas?

After upgrading my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.2 this weekend, my Microsoft Exchange email accounts (I have two) is no longer being pushed automatically when connected to Wifi.  This was working correctly before the update and continues to work correctly when on 4G, but not Wifi.
    Troubleshooting steps taken:
    * Tested on and off wifi - issue is only when on wifi not when on 4G
    * Turned mail sync off and then back on again - did not make a difference
    * Rebooted phone - did not make a difference
    Other ideas?

I was able to track this down not to the email updates but the notifications.  The 8.2 update turned off email notifications both when unlocked and locked.  I was able to resolve by turning the notifications back on.  Seems odd that an update would change notification settings.

  • After downloading mountain lion, my exchange email is no longer recognized.  I have deleted it and added it again.

  • Iphone 4 deletes exchange emails if they are read on desktop

My iphone 4 is receiving my exchange emails but as soon as I read the emails on my desktop computer, my phone deletes them.  I do not have Outlook set to view "unread" messages only.  It is set to read all messages.  It was working fine last week until we switched to a new Exchange server.  Three other people in our office have the same iphone 4 and their exchange accounts are working fine.  Same thing happens on my ipad so it has to be an outlook setting somewhere.  Thanks for your help.

    Hello,
I would 1st speak to your corporate IT department maybe there is a setting within outlook that needs to be set, as far as you iPhone I would go into setting>Mail> tap the account in question>advanced there is a delete from server setting there you may want to disable.
    Good Luck!

  • Exchange Emails Not Showing Up On IPhone with Outlook Client Closed

I have been trying to fix this problem and I want to see if anybody else has run across this issue and found the fix. I am having a problem accessing Exchange Emails from my work system, but only under the following scenario:
    1) When my work PC is powered on, logged in, and Outlook client is up and active I can send and receive emails on my IPhone with no problems and it correctly displays read and unread messages.
    but...
    2) When I close my Outlook client on my PC my IPhone is no longer able to retrieve new email messages. I have had this problem since first getting the 3G phone in August of '08 and it is has been updated with each firmware release but the problem persists.
This is driving me crazy, any help or confirmation that others are experiencing the problem is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

If you select one month for mail days to sync, only one month's worth will be synced and available - the last month which will be constantly changing to the most recent 30 days. Select No Limit for Mail Days to Sync.
Show 1000 recent messages is for the selected mailbox only and if there are more than 1000 messages in a mailbox and you have one month for mail days to sync selected, if the last 30 days for the mailbox includes 100 messages, only 100 messages will be available.
Are these additional server stored mailboxes separate mailboxes and what I mean by that is not sub-mailboxes for the Inbox mailbox?
Since you have had this issue with other operating systems, the common denominator is your Hotmail account. Have you contacted Hotmail technical support regarding this issue you have had with other operating systems?
All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange account should be available with the email client used to access the account. If all are not available when accessing the account as an Exchange account with an email client, something is wrong with your setup for these mailboxes at the server level.

  • Why exchange email will not work on my ipod touch, but ok on iphone

Why will microsoft exchange email not work on my ipod touch, but with the exact same settings, it works fine on my iphone? What is the reason for this?

Try a soft reset, press and hold both power and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears, about 15 seconds, then release both. If still no joy, go into Settings>General>Reset then tap Reset All Settings. If still no joy, back up your iPod to your computer then do a Restore to Backup, if that doesn't work Restore to new through iTunes. If a full restore to new does not work, you may have a hardware issue, contact Apple Genius Bar to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

  • I have an iphone 5 with ios 6. I am trying to setup a new exchange email account. I need the backslash but it is not available. I can find it on other apps but not when trying to set up the mail account. (it is not on the  keyboard)

I have an iphone 4s with ios 6. I am trying to setup a new exchange email account. I need the back slash but it does not show up on the keyboard. I know it is supposed to be on the +key (and is for other apps) but for some reason it is not available when setting up an email account. Is this on purpose or am I doing something wrong?

I can tell you that with Sprint their coverage area isn't as good as Verizon or AT&T.
Are you sending these imessage while on wifi or cellular data?  Also your husband would need to be in a good coverage area.
Usually when imessage is unavailable it will send it as a text.  Does your husband receive your imessage as a text?

  • Ipad mini 3 can't sync with microsoft exchange email (iphone 6 can)

I have an iPhone 6 and iPad mini 3 (verizon). Both are set up the exact same. At work, I am able access Microsoft Exchange email using the iPhone mail app with wifi. (I work underground and have no access to cell service) However, the iPad Mini will not allow me to access my email over wifi using the mail app.
Here is the tricky part. 1)wifi works perfectly on the iPad Mini for all other functions (safari, other apps, etc.). 2)when I get home (or anywhere else) the iPad mini is able to access my work email without a problem. I am not using my cellular connectivity at home, so it has nothing to do with that.
Nobody at work seems to be able to figure it out. Is it a MAC address issue, IP address or a blocked port? Help me please!
All passwords and other settings are the same on the iPhone and iPad. Also, this is not a gmail exchange account. I already know that gmail does not support new exchange accounts. This is a work hosted email.

Here is what I gather from my reading:
-- delete you exchange account then re-configure.  Shakes things up.
    -- reboot device.
    -- re-install from backup.
-- use microsoft outlook for ipad.  ( some business do not allow.  check.  Why? caches info on amazon cloud. ) You should try as a trial at least.
2)when I get home (or anywhere else) the iPad mini is able to access my work email without a problem.
VPN vs no VPN?  Would seem there is a diff here.
    Re-boot ipad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.  page 128 iPad user manual.
force power down if the above give you trouble.
Hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button. Ten seconds or more.  Hold until the Apple logo appears.
