IPhone/iPad quit syncing

Both my iPhone & iPad  have stopped syncing when connected to my PC/iTunes.  They do not even appear on the iTunes list as a connected devise.  Can anyone help me, please?

If you mean iMessage, that doesn't have anything to do with iCloud.  Using iMessage does not use or require an iCloud account.
If one of your devices stopped receiving iMessage conversations from the other you may need to turn iMessage off and back on by going to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tapping the ID, sign out, then sign back in.

  • Iphone/ipad not syncing meetings with exchange 2010

I'm having a problem.  There is only one user out of 25 this is affecting.  Every so often he will change an appointment by moving or deleting it in Outlook but isn't updated on the iPhone.  He has an iPhone 5 with the current OS, the iPad is the 2nd generation with the current OS,.and is connecting to our Exchange server.  Any assistance is appreciated.I

I assume from what you posted that you mean the user has created contacts in the "default" address book instead of in their Exchange address book.
If that's the case, then can not be "moved" to the Exchange address book. The user will have to export them from whatever contact manager they are syncing that particular contact list with and import them using their Outlook client, or they will have to re-enter them in the correct address book.

  • Strategy & Options for Desktop/Laptop/iPhone/iPad Email Syncing and Archive

I'm looking to investigate alternatives and, ultimately, blow up what I'm currently doing for email "sharing" across my Apple products.
I currently have an iMac 27, MacBook Air, iPhone and iPad. I POP email from multiple accounts to my iMac and iPhone. I read and respond to urgent email from the iPhone and then Bcc: myself so I can clean up the mess when I'm back on the iMac. Not good I know.
I POP to the iMac, filtering via SpamSieve, then manage everything into folders with MsgFiler and then archive everything with MailSteward.
I like this setup and have about 7-8 years worth of email in MailSteward and would definitely NOT like to disrupt this.
I also really like SpamSieve and MsgFiler. Great products!
However, I now definitely want to be able to access and deal with my mail from any of the four devices BUT still get everything on the iMac so it can be the central repository and archive.
I guess I'd like to ask the Group about my options for POP and IMAP, or maybe a mix (?) and how I could use all four platforms while still having the desktop be the primary email system, as well as the archive.
    Thanks all,
    Mark

With how you describe your workflow, continuing to use POP accounts would be the way to go, since all messages can be downloaded iMac without indication of whether Read or Unread.
With multiple devices, using IMAP is a lot cleaner, but would be cautious about using SpamSieve, MailSteward and the other thing.
I have never seen a compelling reason to use MailSteward or anything similar. I have most every legitimate message ever received or sent, kept at the ready for searching in Mail, where I have way over 100,000 messages, 15 plus accounts, and many On My Mac mailboxes.

  • Why does iPhone/Ipad still sync email after changing Exchange\Windows Server AD password !?

Has anyone noticed this issue before? A user changes their office network password but it takes anywhere from 2 days to more than a week before the iPhone notices and prompts the user to enter their new password. But not only that, users can still access their e-mail account and send and receive e-mail with their old password.
We are using MS Exchange 2010. Other phones like samsung galaxy and nokia e72 immidiatly prompt for a new password, after changing the password on the windows machines.
    Please help.
    Marc

I would recommend as soon as you restore the iPad go in and delete the exchange account from your device.  It may have a cached entry causing the wipe command to continue to execute.  You may ultimately need to restore it without the backup and set the account up again.

  • (macOS X) itunes freezes when connecting iphone /ipad for syncing

itunes is slower than normal to open. I have installed all updates, restarted several times. tried deauthorising and authorising the computer. Can't do this with phone or ipad connected as I get the beach ball almost immediately.

I haven't tried this yet as I'm not sure how to do it or whether my back up will ensure that I don't lose my music. Sorry I am not well-versed in these things.
I have received a message just now that syncing is not enabled on this computer - and when I click to enable, it says it isn't possible?

  • IPhone, iPad not syncing past "syncing contacts"

Starting today, both my iPhone4 and new-ish iPad2 get snarled during syncing. The "syncing contacts" part of the process does not end. I've waited as long as 45 minutes for it to end -- it doesn't.

Did you update as a new phone?  Or did you just do an update and restore from backup?
If you set up as a new phone you need to set up Google Exchange again to get your mail and contacts to sync.
Also make sure you are looking at the right group in contacts.  Tap groups in top left corner to see your choices.

    Hey Andy,
Try the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692 they will resolve most calendar syncing issues in Windows.
Also make sure you have the Microsoft DST update installed.

  • How do I set my iPhone 3G to sync automatically when connected to my computer?

How do I set my iPhone 3G to sync automatically when connected to my computer? The button to "Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected" is checked, and iTunes opens automatically, but it no longer syncs automatically as it did before the last update.  Now I have to hit the "Sync" button each time; much less convenient as I have to frequently update my calendar.

On my iTunes at the top menu, in the Edit drop down menu, at the bottom is Preferences, click that, then pick icon Devices. Then in the middle there are check boxes, one has Prevent ipods,iPhones, ipads from syncing automatically. Try to leave this box empty. See if this helps.

  • Syncing with iPhone & iPad

    Hi,
i am in the process of gettin rid of my macbook, once I do this i am purchasing the new iPad - the worry I have is - what happens to my music, tones, movies and books etc in itunes, as i know there isnt an itunes option on the ipad?
Will these be added through my apple ID?
what is the eqivalent on the ipad for those that have one?
I will be syncing the ipad with my iphone so will everything on my iphone be transferred onto the ipad too?
    C x

    Try this (from <http://chimac.net/2010/05/16/is-your-ical-not-syncing-to-iphone-or-colors-are- funky/>)
    1. As a first step, I suggest resetting the sync history on your Mac. This is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
    2. After selecting reset sync history with iSync preferences, restart your Mac and try again. Disconnect your iPhone and quit iTunes.
    3. At the iCal menu bar, go to File and select Back up iCal.
    4. Save the backup on your Desktop.
    5. Delete all calendars from iCal so that is it empty. (You must have at least one calendar remaining…just create a new blank calendar)
    6. At the iCal menu bar, go to File and select Restore iCal – selecting the backup file placed on your Desktop.
    7. Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone.
    8. Check if this resolves the problem.

  • Why does my IPad not sync with my IPhone for Ibooks bookmarks?

Why does my IPad not sync with my IPhone for IBooks bookmarks?  Both Pad and Phone have sync turned on.

I must apologize as I misread your post. I though that you were talking about Safari bookmarks but you post does clearly state iBooks bookmarks.
You may want to just try restarting both devices and see if that helps. One other thing that you could try is quit iBooks on both devices and then launch it again and see if the bookmarks are synced when you relaunch.

  • Mac not syncing with iPhone/iPad

Can someone help me?  My Mac is acting up.  Over the past 3 days, I have not been able to get my Mac to sync with my iphone or ipad like I have in the past.  When I open up my calendar on Mac, it says it cant be refreshed and won't let me do a thing until I force it to quit.  I input things on my reminders and notes on my Mac but it won't show up on my other 2 devices.  But if I put stuff on my iphone/ipad it will show up on my Mac!? I've tried updating, shutting down, connecting with a USB.  I don't know what else to do.  I really don't want to have to delete all my stuff because its a lot!  Help please!

  • How to I get my apps off iphone/ipad and into itunes without syncing?

I had my computer crash and recently restored it. I transferred my music back in via a hard drive and now that I am about to resync my phone, I either have to erase the phone with what is in iTunes, or erase what is in itunes with the phone. I have different info in both, so can I pull my contact info and apps off the phone into itunes so when itunes erases the phone, everything is back on?
Or, do I have to erase itunes with phone info and then just reload music from hard drive?
During the crash, I bought an ipad and synced it to a different computer so will need to sync it to this one instead and I have a few apps/podcasts/movies on it as well so don’t want to erase them and may have to do the same thing.
    Thanks!

All apps on your iPhone and iPad should be in your iTunes library on your computer, which should be included with your computer's backup per the instructions included with this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
With Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for each device's sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading an app with either device, the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync the device with iTunes after doing so.
If the apps on each device are different, with your iPhone connected to iTunes and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. Repeat this for your iPad - Transfer Purchaes From - the name of your iPad.
Then you will need to select Sync Apps under the Apps tab making sure all apps on the connected device are selected below. This will not prevent the device from being erased of all iTunes content with the first sync.
If all apps on either device were in your iTunes library and your iTunes library was backed up per the instructions included with the link provided and restored from said backup, no iTunes content on either device would be erased with the first sync with iTunes.
