IPhone / iPad skips, pauses, fast forwards, Siri starts (without prompt)

Hi -
I've had an issue with my iPhone when listening to "Music" or "Podcasts" or "Spotify" where my phone will randomly skip, fast forward, stop and start, or even activate siri without my prompting. It only happens with those app that I've noticed so far.
I had thought this was just a problem with my iPhone but switched to listen to music on my iPad Mini and had the same issue.
I'm starting to think it's caused by my headphones (Sony over the ear headphones with built in remote/mic) as I have a cheap pair of earbuds where I don't have the same issue. These are not bluetooth - it's wired.
Do Apple products have compatibility issues with headphones? Has anyone had the same issue?
It's possible as well it's not being caused by the heaphones, that's just my guess.

So I actually "fixed" it. The headphones I was using had a built in remote. I switched that wire to a standard one (it came with both) and I no longer have the issue. Seems the Sony remote built into the headphone wire wasn't compatible with the iPhone...

Live Pause Fast Forward Buffer-Confused

Hi,
What's the forward buffer of live pause? I know there's a 15 min rewind buffer so that if I pause I could rewind a max. of 15 min. from the time I paused but how much can I fast forward? If I start again, how much a radio program is saved (fast forward)? Let's say I pause at 8:00 and then start again at 9:00. I can rewind to hear the radio program from 7:45 to 8:00 and then fastforward 8:00 to 8:15. Is this way live pause works? IS the fast forward buffer the same as the rewind buffer (15 min)? Can someone explain it because I think I don't understand?

You can only pause and rewind liveTV on the DVR. You cannot pause and rewind liveTV on the other STBs in your home.
You can pause and rewind liveTV on a DVR because it is always recording the current channel to its hard drive. The STBs don't have a hard drive.

After Mountain Lion, QuickTime player's audio skips after fast-forward

Just got mountain lion, and now when I play a video in quicktime and fast-forward, the audio (after returning to normal play speed) skips like a broken record. I click stop and then play, the skipping is still present. It only goes away if I close the video and reopen it anew.
Any ideas?

IPod on iPhone 3G plays on fast forward?

The music on my iPohone, fom my iPod, plays on fast forward and jumps forward and sometimes stalls and then plays again.

I am having the same trouble with my iphone 3G. For no reason, sometimes it simply crashes. I hope they come up with an update to fix this soon.

Custom booleans - play, pause, fast forward, etc

I thought this would be an easy one, but my searches haven't yielded any results yet. Does anyone know of a collection of custom Boolean images? I need to implement a playback feature in a program and would like buttons that look like Play, Pause, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward, etc, such as on a CD player.

Under Windows, I would use regular text with some special Fonts. The attached booleans use "Wingdings" and "Wingdings 3" with single characters. (use charmap to pick the right symbol). I would think that virtually all modern windows boxes have these fonts available.

How can I fast forward Audio Files without itunes?

So I like having the ability to preview audio files directly in the finder folders. I would like the ability to fast forward and rewind them but I cant seem to figure out how to do it without opening itunes first. Kind of annoying. I like how in windows you click play on an audio file and windows media player opens and you can ffwd and rewind. Any Jedi's out there know how I can do this? Thanks!

There are plenty of other audio players for Mac that are lighter weight than iTunes.

Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Usually it's because you are not connecting to the internet via wifi.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

How can I stop itunes starting?

Wi-fi problems between your router and your ATV have nothing to do with either Snow Leopard or iTunes.
If the router isn't showing up in the network settings in the ATV, it's likely the result of a router setting, such as a closed network, or an ATV setting, such as the wrong encryption method. Or, perhaps, the router or the networking daemon in the ATV may have crashed, in which case, it's possible that something as simple as restarting the router and/or the ATV (pull the plug) may clear it.
If restarting everything doesn't work, and your ATV is close enough to your router, try connecting it by Ethernet cable and see if you get a network connection. If you do, but the wireless router doesn't show up, then you definitely have a wi-fi problem.

Fast-forward through voicemails?

Quick question which I'm not sure about: When using an IP Phone like the 6920 series for example, is it possible to skip or fast forward through voicemails (using Unity Connection )?

IPhone 4 audio books only showing 3 minutes and then skipping if I fast forward

I have a number of older audio books and audio files that I have recorded myself using a dictaphone and added to the iTunes library and then set the info for them to be "audio book".
Since the latest software update, my iPhone 4 (and no it's not jail broken) has a) not updated the iPhone library to include or exclude audio books I add or remove from it via sync (using either playlists or the book option where you can tick the books to sync). Instead I have to search on the phone for them and then I have a number of problems with the actual playback:
1) some of the audio books only show a track length of 3 mins even though on the computer they show as their true length (over an hour).
2) on the above audio books and even on the ones that do show the right length, the second I try and fast forward, use the scrubbing bar or rewind them, it skips to the next track!
This is highly frustrating and I can't find a similar problem on support when searching.
Any suggestions/ideas much appreciated.

IPod Touch randomly pausing, starting, and fast forwarding?

I have a 16 GB 2nd gen iPod touch and about 6 months ago I purchased Beats by Dr. Dre for them. They worked perfectly until the headband snapped. I then switched to using the earbuds that came with the iPod. A few days ago I purchased another set of Beats by Dr. Dre. They worked fine while using them the first time, but the second time using them any song I would listen to would randomly pause, start, and fast forward. I switched back to the earbuds that came with thr iPod and the problem didn't occur. I'm not sure what the cause of this is so if anyone could help it'd be much appreciated.

I am having a similar problem with my 5th generation Nano (5 weeks old). It started about 1 1/2 weeks ago and paused in only 1 song. When I touched the right side of the screen, the song restarted and continued playing. It happened 2 more times on different days and in different songs. Tonight, it paused 7 times during 3 or 4 consecutive songs. I used the same procedure as above to restart each time. Tonite, after a few more songs played without pausing, I backed up to the first song that had paused and let the song sequence replay. No problems this time??? I have not noticed if there is any fast forwarding occurring, but some songs end abruptly before the end (a separate problem). I am thinking that there may be a glitch at a certain spot on the Nano hard drive causing songs to pause. Is that possible? When playing, my Nano sits on a desk top and nothing is touching it. Music fast forwards and Siri/Voice control randomly pops up

While music is playing on my iPhone 4S, a number of problems occur. Siri will randomly come on as if I have hit the home button twice, pausing the music (once I hit the home button to turn Siri off the music plays again). The music will also randomly pause and fast forward itself. All of these things occur whether the phone in locked or unlocked. Sometimes, it starts to do these above things without me being in range with it. I have a feeling it is something to do with my Apple earpods. when I walk or move the earpods around a lot, these things are likelier to occur.
I have tried turning off shake to shuffle, raise to speak (for Siri) and I've even tried turning Siri off all together (which simply resulted in Voice Command coming on instead). I went to the Apple store for help and was told to do a backup and then restore the phone to factory settings. After I did that the issue persisted but with less frequency at first, but now it happens pretty constantly again. It seems like a software issue but the restore did not work so I'm not sure. Should I go to an Apple Store and get it checked out?

ITunes starts fast forwarding tracks after 1hours continuous play?

Hi I have recently updated windows XP on my computer to service pack three. After this update when I am listening to iTunes it suddenly started playing the songs in my library too quickly as if it was stuck on fast forward.
If you stop itunes playing then press play or select a different track it continues to play too fast. The only way to fix the problem is to close itunes and re-open it.
I have now found that this problem starts after iTunes has been playing music for just over an hour, so currently I'm having to close and re-open itunes ever hour to keep listening to music.
Any Idea why this might be happening?
I'm running XP SP3, 3GB ram, 3GHz processor, 200GB HD no where near full. Its iTunes version 8.2.1.6.

Anyone else have this problem? I have now timed the problem to exactly 1hour 9minutes of continuous play, so if you play for 30 mins, pause for 15 then play iTunes starts fastforwarding 39 minutes later.

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6 (I think because the licensing agreement with google ended). You will either need to try one of the YouTube apps from the store (there is an iPhone optimised app from google, and other people have said that they are working on an iPad version), or (if this isn't the version that you have tried) try accessing the mobile version via Safari : http://m.youtube.com (you can create a home screen shortcut for the site)
