Iphone went dead after I closed the Iphone while in the NEW USA Today App. How do I bring it back?

USA Today app ad freezeup

I have now twice gotten a situation where an ad appears on my screen and I cannot close it or get it to go away under any circumstance. After a day or tow of not being able to access USA Today, it clears up only to return. I apologize if there is an easy answer but I cannot find any references. Thanks in advance!

I don't have the USA Today so I don't know how their ads work and therefore how they should be closed. Have you tried closing the app completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the USA Today 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the USA Today app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Can't get USA Today app into Newstand. Is it possible?

iPad will not allow me to drage USA Today app on top of Newstand.

I have no problem dragging USA Today onto Newsstand in order to create another folder, with Newsstand and USA Today inside that new folder, but they are atill separate apps within a new folder.
The fact that the app will not live inside the Newsstand folder is due to the design of the app, would be my assumption. Apps have to work with Newsstand. Perhaps you are preaching to the wrong choir. Contact USA Today app support and ask them about it.

Suggestion: You should try USA Today app for Z10

If any developer wants to see how an app is done for Z10, they should look at USA Today app, and learn a few things.
Among the terrible applications we see on App World today, this is an excellent demonstration of how apps can be done, and how effective they can be in presenting your company, brand, bussiness to Blackberry users. I always loved USA Today and this takes it up a notch. It's so simple, yet functional.

You do not need any anti-virus software on your phone, unless of course it has been Jailbroken, in which case no body here can help.

I've double clicked the home button and closed all other apps other than the one I'm using. That doesn't seem to help. Is there something else I can do?

When you close all of apps in the recents tray, it might help if you restart the iPad or maybe even reboot it like this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
For Safari specifically, this might help as well. I would recommend restarting the iPad after clearing Safari.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

USA Today App

The USA Today Paper app is for free. Starting having problems with old app and then I updated with the new app and now nothing happens at all, cannot get it. Any clues?

No clue, as mine works as well as it ever did. In your place I'd first try deleting the app and then downloading it again.

Blue screen appears for 1 second after closing my games apps

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Frozen email screen after closing Google Maps app

My iphone was working fine. I went into Google Maps just to check it out. After I went back to my Home Screen and then clicked on email, my email screen was frozen. This is the screen that has all the folders listed. I cannot open any emails under Received or Sent. Also the page does not move up and down. It is locked up. I tried shutting the phone off and on, but with no success.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

USA Today app goofy while browsing photos

anyone else having trouble with it? I removed the app, reset Touch and reinstalled. Same problem. I go to Week in Science, click on image of sun, rotate for landscape viewing, click on image and i get a black screen. If rotate back to portrait mode, the top of the USA screen is about 1 inch from the bottom of the screen! n the same thing happens if i go to day in celebrities, choose image, rotate, and click.

Inbox empty after closing the mail app

I set up my dads iphone to receive his email..
Emails come in, and we can send some to! so thats allright.
But everytime my dad closes the iphone mail app, and then restart it again, the incoming mail box is empty..
no emails to find..
Why is this happening? Ive set the setting to never deleting the mails, but i cant find any other options..

USA Today freezes now after I loaded OS 8 last night.

I loaded the new version of the iPad operating system last night and USA Today app stopped working. It hangs up. It shows as a cloud in the app store where all other apps I've seen have a price or show free. I've downloaded several times. I got it to working on my wife's ipad mini but it was by accident. Can't get it to work on the iPad. I've tried the signing out signing in and downloading but it seems as if the touch screen no longer works. Sometimes after a few seconds the home screen returns. Please help. I like USA Today.

Windows 8.1 desktop refresh required after closing mstsc

In Windows 8.1 Pro with Update (64-bit), in desktop mode, after closing the mstsc app (click X in title bar) during an mstsc session to a Window 7 Ent SP1 workstation, the contents of the mstsc window remain displayed and a desktop refresh (right-click->refresh
on the desktop) is required to refresh the desktop to clear the stale content from the display. This does not happen when using mstsc to connect to a legacy Win XP Pro workstation.
Video adapter is an integrated Intel P4600/P4700 with latest drivers provided my Microsoft Update (v10.18.10.3621) in multi-monitor (3 monitors) mode. The mstsc is only active on one monitor.
Anyone else seen this issue?

Monitor refresh rate (all 3 of them is set to 60hz). Only options on the primary display are 59 or 60Hz.
Setting the refresh rate to 59Hz produces same results. Setting back to 60Hz produces same results.
Sometimes part of the desktop on the monitor with the mstsc window needs to be refreshed, sometimes all of it under the mstsc windows needs to be refreshed, and sometimes, but rarely, the desktop never needs to be refreshed after closing mstsc to this specific
target.
The mstsc session is not a full screen session and is opened as per:
C:\Windows\System32\mstsc.exe "<path to rdp file>.rdp" /w:2560 /h:1530
on a 30" display set for 2560x1600, 32bpp, 60Hz
To clarify, the specific issue manifests when I disconnect the session -- ie. clicking the X in the title bar, then clicking OK in the dialog "Your remote session will be disconnected". The "Your remote session will be disconnected" dialog
disappears (sometimes), and the mstsc windows title bar disappears but some or all of everything else that was inside the mstsc windows (from the remote system) remains displayed (even the mstsc bottom window border) until the desktop is refreshed.
I do note that if I set the mstsc session to full screen and then close/disconnect the session while it is in full screen, that the refresh required after disconnect issue does not manifest.
I am not sure if this is a functional issue in the mstsc client in Windows 8.1 (file version 6.3.9600.16384) or is more generally display/explorer specific. If the issue is broader, I am only noticing it with mstsc.
I've also updated to the latest Intel HD Graphics driver (rel: 2014-08-29) and no difference.
