IPhone is disabled - I don't know my "Find My iPhone" passcode

Hello all! I need help with my iPhone. It has been disabled by the "Find My iPhone" app. I'm not certain about how this happened, but it happened while my 4-year-old son and I were using my iPhone's "Find my iPhone" feature to try to locate my son's iPod Touch. While I was out of the room retrieving my son's iPod Touch, he was playing around with my iPhone. When I re-entered the bedroom, my son was typing random numbers into the Passcode entry boxes. By the time I got the iPhone out of his hands, he had apparently successfully completed the process of setting up the Remote Lock feature on my iPhone. Given the fact that he had no idea what he was doing while he was doing it, he was unable to remember which numbers he had entered, and all he could say was that he thought he had been unsuccessful in doing whatever it was that he was attempting to do.
After I tried and failed to guess the right passcode several times over the course of a couple of hours, my phone was disabled. When I turn it on, it says to connect the iPhone to iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I've done that. In fact, the iPhone is still plugged into a USB port on my laptop. But when I log in to iTunes, nothing happens. My phone remains disabled (except for the ability to dial 911), and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do to unlock and/or restore the backed up data onto my iPhone. My most recent iCloud backup was yesterday.
Can anyone tell me what to do to unlock my phone?
Thank you!!

Does the iPhone appear under DEVICES in iTunes?

  • My ipod touch states "ipod disabled" and don't know what to do or how to fix it

ipod touch is stating "ipod disabled" in red on the screen and do not know how to fix it.  Forgot passcode

If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode, or you do not have the syncing computer. place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore.  For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Also, it is OK to restore from backup since the screen-lock passcode is NOT restored to the iPod.

  • I've blocked my iPhone 6 . I have the puk code but i don't know where to change the passcode to unblock the phone?\

Hi I changed the pin on my iPhone 6, but i can't remember what it is., so my iPhone is now disabled . I have the puk and the phone is connected to the iTunes that it was origionaly set up on . How do I get my phone going again ?

    Hello Pjkelly,
From what I can gather, it sounds like your device is disabled and needs to be restored to factory settings. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains helpful advice concerning recovery mode:
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    Use recovery mode
You might need to use recovery mode to restore your device in these cases:
iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
You see the Apple logo onscreen for several minutes with no progress bar.
You see the Connect to iTunes screen.
Learn what to do if you see the progress bar onscreen for several minutes.
To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore your device. Restoring in recovery mode will erase your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.
    Get more help
Learn what to do if you don't see your device in iTunes for OS X, or in iTunes for Windows.
If you put your device into recovery mode by mistake, restart it. Or you can wait 15 minutes and your device will exit recovery mode by itself.

  • I have received a message that my Apple ID has been disabled and don't know what to do?

I recently purchased a new iPhone4 and registered it immediately on line. I needed to download an application to be able to use it with an FM transmitter in the car and I was informed that my Apple ID has been disabled. There was nothing about security on the disabled message and when I visited the support website to get assets there were none that applied to my situation. Pease can someone help me understand what to do?

  • My Wife got an iPhone at work. IT set it up the first time on another machine, they finally install iTunes on her machine but I don't know if she can sync without loosing Photos, SMS, and other things. She had six months of stuff on that phone?

My Wife got an iPhone at work. IT set it up the first time on another machine, they finally install iTunes on her machine but I don't know if she can sync without loosing Photos, SMS, and other things. She had six months of stuff on that phone?
The problem is she can't update to new software until she connect to iTunes, but she don't want to loose all that info.
    My question is:
If she register her apple ID on that new computer, and sync the phone, will she loose everything? or iTunes will back up first (because apple id match) and then sync.
Otherwise, how can I do it? The closest apple store is 3 hours away. thanks!

Before you connect to a new PC, make sure that autosync is disabled in Edit/Preferences/Devices, otherwise her phone will be wiped during the following sync.
If she has data on the phone she wants to save, back up manually:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to her new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing. Transfer the purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

  • Account Disabled - Horrible support, don't know what to do

So after spending several hundred dollars over the course of being an apple fan, my account was disabled on itunes. I don't know why.. I called only to be laughed at by a guy named Anthony who said just log out and log back in.. not a very helpful guy. Then I called again, and a lady said there is no voice support for itunes issues!! What the heck? So I emailed, and have been waiting, why is this happening to someone who spent so much money on apples products? I have a iMac, 2 x appletvs, 2 x iphones, ipod, mac mini, you name it I have it.. and apple has turned there back on me.
I have definitely lost my hope in apple, and even more so as a stockholder.

I don't think that the number of products that you purchase affects the level of service. Hopefully Apple would extend the same services to all Apple customers.
It seems you may be over reacting just a touch. Sometimes everything does not go smoothly. A little patience can go a long way.

Am I able to unblock my disabled phone if I don't know the passcode?

If you have disabled your iPhone you will have to reset it to factory settings, and then restore your latest backup. If you haven't backed up your iPhone recently make sure to do so by connecting it to iTunes.

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
