Iphone is synced to another itunes library

I posted this earlier in the wrong place. I am having a problem syncing my iphone. I recently had to reload my vista OS and now I am getting the above error message. I hit the "accept" button by accident and had to unplug my phone quickly. I lost my contacts, but every time I attempt to change anything it gives me that error message. I have been into my apple ID and changed the password in hopes of correcting this. It did not help. I'm not sure if I had another ID I changed somehow because when I attempt to log in using the other ID it says it has been locked due to security reasons. I really need to figure out how to fix this problem.

You cannot get around this.
Iphone will sync ( or manually manage) with one and only one itunes library at a time. Synciong ( or manually managing) to another will indeed erase the current content.
You should have copied all of the music from your old computer to your new one, so you should not lose any music.

I just bought an I-Phone 5S. When plugging it to my Macbook for the 1st time to copy music from my I-Tunes, this message comes up: "The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library on “localhost". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?"
Pls help. I'm always so scared I can loose all my contacts if i am to answer "yes". Also, why am I being told the IPhone is synced with another ITunes Library when it's litterally not been connected to any at all? I dont get it.
What shall I do?

This would indicate that you bought a Used iPhone and/or have Connected it to another iTunes Library.
By design an iPhone can only sync to One iTunes Library at a time.

I'm having the same problem after upgrading my iPhone 3Gs to iOS 5 (and upgrading iTunes to 10.5). I noticed after doing this the ring tone I was using for incoming calls was no longer on the phone. Before the upgrade I was syncing ringtones with iTunes without problems. My contacts and apps still still sync as before, but when I try to enable syncing for ring tones in iTunes, I get the message reported at the beginning of this thread. Any risk of losing anything if I go ahead and enable ring tone syncing? The message is definitely misleading.

After Install tried to sync with my iPhone and a dialog box pops up stating "this iPhone synced with another iTunes library, erase and sync?". I checked the manually manage music and videos box because I don't want all my wife's pics and music on my iPhone. How do I Sync without erasing what I have on my iPhone???

Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

Iphone already synced with another itunes library?!?

I hope somebody can help me..
I reacently needed to format my computer. And after the format my I was unable to backup or sync my ihone to itunes.
itunes tells me that my iphone is already synced to another itunes library, and to sync i need to erase everything...
I have tried everything, deauthorising and reauthorising, reinstalling itunes, I tried different computers, but the problem still persists.
I am quite frustrated right now, I contacted apple suport and they were not helpful...

apple..... ypu sale these gadgets which i love but I dont want to earse the music on my iphone i would like to save them into my library, how can i do this? most of the music i have bought and i dont want to loose any of it!!!

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your other library/computer, or your backup copy, to your new library/computer

My computer shows the error, "This iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?" I don't currently have any songs on my iPhone but I don't want to lose my photos or messages?

All I am simply trying to do is put some songs from my iTunes playlist on my computer onto my iPhone.
By erasing the content of my iPhone I'm scared that I will lose all my photos and messages etc.

Itunes is telling me that my iphone is synced with another itunes library, how is this possible if i only have one computer?

That is true.
You can either manually mange or sync, not both.
If you change from one to the other, then it will erase the current content and replace with the content now selected.

I do not have another account and really need to down load all my photos and songs. My husband passed away recently and I am distraught that I have no photos or his music on the pc now.
THere is nothing in the library at all no purchased items no music and no photos. It's a completely new iTunes. I have it all on the iPad but can't sync it with the account.

this usually happens when your device is connected to different comupters, whatever files that you have on your ipod gets deleted when you connect it to a new computer
you will have to just get all the songs from the first computer that you had used to transfer songs on your ipod
copy them on a usb stick and transfer it to the new computer and just re-add on to your device

I have been issued with a new iphone 4 from my company which had been activated on a works pc/itunes library. I now wish to sync with my itunes account to download my books, music and films but get this warning message " this iphone is synced with another itunes library. do you want to erase this iphone and sync with this itunes library...erasing and syncing replaces the content of this iphone with the contents of this itunes library "
I have been able to sync my apps with no problem its just the other itunes stuff...
Pls can somebody tell me - if I choose the option to erase and sync, what do I erase? is it just the itunes content ie music, photos, film, apps etc or will I lose all or some other information stored in my phone?

You will get this warning if you change between manually manage and sync.
You can manually manage OR sync. You cannot do both. If you switch between the two, it will erase the current content.

I recently just had to re-install snow leopard on my imac. Thankfully I backed up all my music and re-imported everything from my old install to this one. However, when I go to sync my iPhone 4 I get the message that reads:

It warns that doing so will erase my current iphone and replace the contents of it with the contents in my new iTunes library.
I manage to back up photo in iPhoto, using iTune I Back up using control click mouse and get the back up button, but when I search my computer for the backup it cannot find it anywhere!!!!I I'm afraid to sync in fear of losing all my images and app data. want all mytext and other things to be safe

Cannot sync my iphone with itunes as it says it is already synced with another itunes library on the same computer.

On connecting my iphone 4S to itunes I am unable to add any music from my itunes library and get a message saying it is already synced with another itunes library on the same computer. As far as I am aware I only have one itunes library on the computer. Does anyone know how to fix this error please?

Itunes says my iphone music library its synced to another itunes library but thats not true

Hello I have an Iphone 5s that i have always synced with my laptop, i sync almost everything except for movies... Today I updated to the latest iTunes version and now when I plug my iphone and go to the music sync page the check box is unmarked and if i try to mark it it give me the next dialog:
Are you sure you want to remove existing music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones from this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?
Music, movies, TV shows, books, and tones synced to “Holder’s iPhone” from other iTunes libraries will be removed and items will be synced from this iTunes library.
It says that my iphone is synced to another library but thats not true, I only use my laptop.
I don't want to go thru all that process of deleting all the music I have synced and do it all over again!
Has anyone had the same issue?

For the stuff that was purchased from the iTunes store, you can be redownload it or transfer it off of iOS devices.
Apple has had this long standing "one way street" rule for content that wasn't purchased from iTunes (copyright laws). But you should be able to search the web for companies that aren't as strict, and may allow other backups/transfers.
