Hi,
I currently live in the US. In a couple of months I am moving to Israel. I would like to own an iPhone but there are may problems around this. The only way I could find was to buy an unlocked one on e bay. I do not like this possibility.
Question(1): will the iPhone arrive to Israel in the upcoming year? where can I check this???
Question(2): is it safe to buy an iPhone from e bay??? I guess it will be a used one...

Who knows? Hacked iphones are not supported by Apple.

You must setup a new account on a Mac or an iDevice, then you can sign in from a PC. You cannot create a new iCloud account using Windows.

the only ones who can sim unlock a phone is the ones who sim locked it in the first place

URGENT: Unlocked iPhone 5s not working in Israel?

I bought my iPhone 5s in Canada that was locked with Bell. I am not a customer with Bell, so I could not get it unlocked through them. So I got it unlocked at the Flea Market in Canada from a guy that who said he worked with Bell; he took my IMEI # and said that using a code he bought from Bell, he would get it unlocked within a week.
I moved to Israel and weeks went by and my phone was still locked, but I was at least able to access my home screen and apps. My carrier here is with 'Orange'. I was told I needed to reset my phone through iTunes in order to the unlock to work. I did that, and now I can't access anything on my phone! Every time I try to, I get a message that says "SIM not valid" and it doesn't let me go further. I'm going on vacation soon so I'm wondering how I could at least get access to my apps for now.
I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or if it means my phone is not actually unlocked? Did the guy scam me? How can I get it unlocked (if it's not unlocked)? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!!

It doesn't matter what he said to you - if Bell didn't do the unlock for you (and you have no paperwork from them indicating it was done), then your phone is still locked to them. He hacked it to unlock it, if it ever was unlocked.
If it wasn't still locked, you would have been able to restore the phone using any SIM card and wouldn't be stuck on the invalid SIM screen.

For free using cellular voice or data? Forget it. Especially if you have Verizon. T-Mobile is the only US carrier with reasonable roaming rates and services. Verizon is the worst for International roaming.
If you have a WiFi connection you can use Facetime, Skype or similar apps for voice, and Yahoo Messenger, GoogleTalk, Twitter or similar for texting.
If you are eligible for an upgrade get an iPhone 5S from Verizon. It is unlocked for International use. So you can use an Israeli SIM while there. It won't be free, but it will be no more expensive than anyone in Israel pays.

If officially unlocked, put a local activated sim in the phone, turn it on & follow the on screen prompts. If your phone is not officially unlocked, it won't activate & you'll get an error message. You'll find out pretty quick whether it is officially unlocked or not...you could also look on the box...any carrier name listed? Did your phone come with a sim card pre-installed? If any of those things are true, you don't have an officially unlocked iPhone. Might as well send it back before you go any further.

You should wait until December since the warranty for the iPhone purchased in the US if needed will be honored in the US only.

Are all iPhones originally made "for" a carrier? If I'm in an electronics store (not a carrier store) and they have an iPhone for sale, do I need to ask what carrier it is for? I know for sure that it works with AT&T phones which are GSM.

Contact the wireless carrier to which the iPhone is locked and
ask that carrier if they provide unlocking and if you qualify.

Israeli 3G S iPhone (with Hebrew support) + iOS4

Hi everybody ^_^
I've got the 3G S iPhone couple of days ago (still don't have 4G in Israel). The sale person in the cell company service center told me NOT TO update a OS (I have 3.1.3 installed), because it could delete Hebrew font support or freeze iPhone while using some Hebrew language applications. He also said that if I'll update and something will go wrong, it'll be my problem, and I could get it fixed\get new phone for a fee (up to 250$, which is not good at all).
Why can't I upgrade original, not modded hardware, with original not modded software?
I can cope with not being able to type in Hebrew, since I use English, mostly, but I don't want to brick this expensive piece of electronics and pay for it...
Please advise ^_^

No, I'm not, but since Orange is the biggest cell operator in Israel (I think it's a branch or partner company of France Orange), it's hard to believe that they mess with something like that. Except locking a phone for their Sim card and adding some of their applications.

I suggest your problem is cutting your sim
Get a genuine micro sim and if that fail post back
If everyone tells you there is no lock there is probably no lock the problem is your sim
If you still believe it is locked go to an Apple store

Which IPhone 5S work in both USA and Israel with LTE? Is it the European or American model? GSM or CDMA?

The issue is what channels would be used varries by nation to nation. Since I have very limited access to Jordan and Egypt it really doesn't matter to the average Israeli company what will work there. There is currently Orange's LTE in Israel which I read/hear conflicting information as to which LTE bands are being used. Further then there is a new LTE slighted from Cellcom/Golan/Pelephone that I'm curious to see what bands they will be using. From this information it would be possible to know which is the one to use for LTE.
Realistically it would seem that getting a Verizon/Sprint would be the best route, in that you would have a working set for America, plus foreign bands for Europe and hopefully Israel. Orange already sells the iPhone in Israel, but it doesn't indicate which model it uses.
Since the iPhone in Israel is so much more expensive, it's still cheaper to buy in Israel and get serviced in the USA if need be. But realistically these phones never really have problems that can't be solved so dificultly that I would worry about having to go back to the US. As from my understanding the warranties have to be honored globally. Just as if I have a problem with my computer I don't have to go back to the US to get it fixed.

The hotels I stayed in during my visit to the Holy Land had a plug for electric razors which has the same plug used in the US. With that I didn't even need the adapter.

I baught it from here in Bangladesh and now I’m ina mess to get at least a minimum support.

So now I have an ipod in the price of an iPhone4. Crap.
