IPhone/iTunes 1.1.1 Update Error?

When you hook up your iPhone to iTunes like any iPod you get a special menu for the product. In the Menu I have an "UPDATE" button for the 1.1.1 update for the iPhone but every time I press it this message comes up:
iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update
server because you are not connected to the internet.
But I am connected to the internet and I am also connected to the iTunes Store? is there a way to get this issue fixed? I have redownloaded iTunes 4 times now.

I went to the Apple Store today and had my bricked (1.1.1 update failed) iPhone replaced and I'm having the same trouble. The AT&T activation sever must be down?
The Genius hooked up my phone number so my phone can make calls, etc., but since iTunes can't connect to the store, none of my settings, contacts, or anything from my iTunes backup have synched up.

ITunes 11.1.1 Update Error - Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

Hello iTunes Community!
I've been reading about the non-descript error message that Windows users are getting when attempting to update to iTunes 11.1.1. It appears to affect Mac OS X as well in that I too am getting the same error. I'm running a 20" aluminum iMac with Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. What's interesting though is that when I checked iTunes to make sure it still functioned correctly and took a look at "About iTunes" it shows version 11.1.1 (11). So it appears that the update actually occured, but somehow did not finish-up quite right??? Is there any cause to be concerned, or do I just keep it the way it is? I ran the update twice and it still shows-up as an available update in Software Update.
I'm beginning to suspect that there may be a problem with the update.

Hi folks...
Based upon a recommendation from a friend who is an authorized Apple service provider, I downloaded the iTunes installer directly from the Apple/iTunes website and ran the install. I worked perfectly and iTunes is working normally... I think.
FYI, one problem I encountered with the Software Update version of the installation is that iTunes didn't "see" my iPhone 4S. The new installation resolved that issue.
I hope this helps anyone else out there that is experiencing the same problem.

ITunes 10.6.3 Update Error

I have been offered the iTunes 10.6.3 on my Windows computer but every time I press the "Download iTunes" button, nothing happens.
I know that many other people have been having the same problem. Does anyone seem to have a solution to this problem? Without the update, my iPhone 4s is unable to synch to my computer.

I called the apple care tonight because I had exactly the same problems!
The lady on the phone then email me a link on how to uninstall the older version of iTunes.

I've been trying to update my iphone 4 for 2 weeks now & it keeps giving me the -54 Permissions error code. Does anyone know how to fix this? It says "An unknown error has occured (-54)" I am the administrator on my Windows 7 laptop. PLEASE HELP. Im currently on Version 4.2.6 CDMA

Normally that indicates a hardware error or in some situations with iPhones that have previously been jailbroken or had a rollback of the OS.
One other possibility is drive confusion. Which port on your computer are you using and are any other USB devices connected?

Hi, I'm trying to update or install a few apps recently and I keep getting the error "Unable to Download Application" with the options DONE or RETRY. Done cancels the update/install download and retry repeats the error!? The username and password are correct, but this is happening a lot recently. Any ideas? Is this happening to anyone else? Is it an Apple services thing or is my new iPhone 4S not quite what I expected it to be?

I got my 3G iPhone yesterday, which came with 2.0.1 software. So when I connect iphone and tried to update to 2.0.2, the following message keeps popping up.
" The iPhone could not be updated because the firmware file was corrupt".
I tried reinstalling itunes plus I even reset my iphone settings as well. But still the problem exists.

The file will be located in ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/ (the tilde is short for your home directory); the filename is iPhone1,22.0.2_5C1Restore.ipsw.
You can re-register at https://register.apple.com/ and your new information will overwrite what is currently in the database.

Hi I had a simular problem with my iPhone 4 and iPad 3 and found that the USB connection on the computer was at fault so I moved the connection to a USB port on the Mother board.This curred my problem,see if ti works for you.
