IPhone / iTunes recognition problems

After re-installing iTunes and Apple Mobile Device my iPhone is recognised only once and not anymore. Next time I try to sync. it I have to go throughout again to the whole installation procedure. What is it going wrong? How can I get iPhone to be recognised properly?

IPhone iTunes match problem, songs displaying incorrectly or not displaying at all

I have an iPhone 4, and recently subscribed to iTunes Match. The list of artists/songs/albums, etc. does not show my content correctly. Some songs aren't displayed even though they have been downloaded, and the alphabetical display is making no sense.

Despite the categories being alphabetical, you can see that artists under "U" are being displayed under "W" and "X".
I also downloaded some songs via the iTunes Purchased Music feature, and they downloaded, but are not displaying. Most recent purchases are not displaying.
Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on?

I thought my email from Apple would amuse, in it they imply I was unable to make it work. Not them. Note no apology whatsoever - it would imply guilt.
They also threatened me with an effective year long ban if I get my money back. Here's the email:

IPhone/iMac recognition problem

My iMac will not recognize my iPhone in iTunes. I have performed all the recommended steps on the support pages to no avail...any suggestions as how I can get the iMac to see the iPhone?

Have you tried putting the iPhone into Recovery or DFU mode?
Recovery:
1. Turn the iPhone off.
2. Turn the iPhone on, but hold down the home button.
3. You should see the iTunes icon, this will mean it is in recovery mode.
DFU Mode:
1. Plug your iPhone into your computer with the USB cable and open iTunes.
2. Hold down the sleep and home button until your iPhone screen shuts off (disregard the power off slider).
3. Once the iPhone shuts off, wait 6-7 seconds, then let go of the sleep button and continue to hold down the home button.
4. You're iPhone should show up in iTunes and should be in recovery mode even though the screen should remain turned off.
If you find yourself having trouble turning on the iPhone after trying DFU mode, continue to hold down the sleep and home buttons until the screen turns on and then let go of the buttons and let the iPhone power on.
If you can get into either mode and the computers can recognize the iPhone, do a backup and then reinstall the firmware. If you cannot get the computers to recognize the iPhone, then you'll have to take the iPhone into Apple to have them look at it.

IPhone connectivity/recognition problems

I am trying to add music from i-tunes on my PC to my iPhone, but the iphone icon does not appear anywhere in i-tunes. I have tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the iPhone to my computer, but much to no avail. I know I already have the most current version of i-tunes on my computer, and my iPhone is fully charged...can anyone help me out with this issue? Thank you in adavance.

Check the manual for whatever backup program you used, or, if you just copied the files over, copy them that.

When you buy an upgrade disk, all updates in that OS can be found on Software Update.
For instance, I bought Snow Leopard at 10.6.
All other updates have been free and downloadable. So I'm not a 10.6.7.
10.4 (Tiger) went to 10.4.11.
10.5 (Leopard) went to 1.5.8
10.6(Snow Leopard) is currently at 10.6.7.
Now, when Lion come out (the next major upgrade of OSX), I will have to pay to go to 10.7.
After that, updates are free til 10.8 comes out.

Your phone is in recovery mode. Did you plug it to the computer running itunes? What happend?

Major iphone os 3.1 and itunes 9 problem

Ever since updating to itunes 9 and 3.1 for my iphone i have been having syncing problems and I've had to restore my iphone almost every time, i get the error message (-6999) . I do a restore, start syncing a couple of songs and then i get that error message, then i disconnect and itunes makes me setup my iphone again after plugging it back in. Any help would be appreciated.........

Hi Folks
Here is a fix for the iPhone 3.1 update that causes the handset to remains caught in a restore loop **.
With this fix you should not need to reinstall iTunes to a previous version either, though I have only tested it with Windows OS, the same principle should work.
When your phone is caught in the restore loop, which causes iTunes to continually ask you to reinstall your iPhone and then upon resorting it brings up an error, do the following.
Login to another user account that has access to iTunes (any version) and plug your USB connector into the iPhone.
iTunes will then indentify that there is a 3.1 update which you agree to download. You will then be asked to reformat the phone and install the update. Go through the process as it tried to do in the other user account, follow any prompts that iTunes asks and eventually you will return your iPhone to its factory settings.
Next, disconnect your USB and then log back into the main user account you have previously been using your phone with, load up iTunes again and then reconnect the phone.
iTunes will now scan for the phone and automatically (if you have a previous backup) reinstall from a previous backup, if no backup is available then simply restore.
Once this is complete you should be left with a fully updated and more importantly working iPhone.
I have had some issues with this process with direct regard to the backup, but after a few tries this process works fine.

I had the same problem. My phone wasn't finding it so I tried plugging it into my laptop and it said I needed the latest iTunes which I already had.... I unplugged my phone from my laptop and did a soft reset to my phone (hold down the lock button and home button at the same time until your phone turns off) once it turns back on you should find the update... Click general... Software update. Worked for me!

I just had the same problem with my iphone, only thing i could do was completely restore factory settings, lost a bunch of pics and contacts in the process... hope you have better luck than me

Using Itunes, I copied all my apps from my Ipod touch to a new Iphone 4. Problem is all the apps on the Iphone are starting up like a new install. I would think my "password" app and "lose it" app would have the past data transferred to the Iphone.

I'm adding more information:
in Finder, my iMovie folders are all visible and accessible. When I click on a clip from iMovie Events folder, Quicktime opens and plays the clip. ALL my video is not missing - it just isn't showing up in the Event Library!
This happened all of a sudden, while I was working on iMovie project (on both computers).
All my Projects are intact, and play when I open them.

System problems after installing iphone & itunes

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a weird problem with their computers after installing the iphone & itunes.
Up untill i got the iphone, my computer was working fine. Now about every 15 - 30 mins, i get a few seconds of static sound from my speakers, and my monitor flashes in a way i can only describe as static on a tv screen.
i've been trying to figure out what the problem is, and thought it was just my copy of windows xp, then i noticed that every so often, my iphone will buzz either right before or right after the static hits my computer. I've also seen the same thing on another computer running windows vista, so at this point, i don't think it's the computer, and the issue never occured before installing the iphone.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot what is causing this, (or at the very least stop the static sound from the speakers so that it does not interfere with my music).
Any help would be appriciated, this is currently the biggest problem i have with the iphone.

Hi - yep, it's your phone causing the problem. But this isn't unique to iPhones, many (most?) cell phones will create this problem when placed near certain other electronic devices. I haven't been able to put my cell phone on my nightstand for years because it makes the radio/alarm clock buzz.
I don't happen to have problems with my iPhone near my computer screen or speakers, but it makes my alarm clocks and my cordless home telephones buzz like you described.
I believe the cell phone is essentially connecting to the mother ship to establish a signal! Like I said, this isn't unique to the iPhone. Just move it away from your screen/speakers and you'll have fixed your problem
