IPhone keeps erasing events in Calendar

Why does my iPhone keep erasing events in Calendar? When an event is about a month old, it's erased. They're kept in iCal, but I'd really like to keep them on my iPhone, too.

Go to Settings>Mail,Calendars,Contacts, scroll down to Calendars section and set Sync to a longer time period.

Does iphone keep an archive of calendar items before synchronizing. I synchronized my outlook account on a new computer and iphone wiped out appointments made since the last synch on the old computer.

OK, I just read page 149-150 of the User Guide, which says the following:
"Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” choose an account, then do one of the following...
"To set how long before messages are removed permanently from Mail on iPhone, tap Advanced and tap Remove, then choose a time: Never, or after one day, one week, or one month."
First of all, it would be much clearer if the heading is "Delete Messages" instead of "Deleted Messages", which makes it look like only deleted messages are removed after specified time.
Also, does that mean if I set Mail app to show 50 recent messages, and I have 1,000 messages in the past week, I can only see 50 messages even though the other 950 messages are still on my iPhone? How do I access them, only through Spotlight?

I have purchased 2 ringtones, and my iPhone keeps erasing them, and won't let me download them for free and I'm very angry.

Find my iPhone keeps erasing my phone after I found it and restored it from a previous backup. How do I stop it from erasing it over and over again?

A few days ago I lost my phone while it was in Airplane mode and initiated a remote wipe from Find my iPhone. I recovered my phone (still in airplane mode) and immediately backed it up. Once that was done, I took it out of airplane mode and let Find my iPhone wipe it. After the wipe, I restored it from my previous back up, but every time the phone connects to a cellular network or just to wifi, it gets wiped again. This occurs even if I have location services and Find my Iphone turned off on the phone! I tried removing the phone from my device list in Find my iPhone, but that still didn't help.
The phone currently has IOS 6 on it. I'm downloading IOS 7 to see if that makes any difference. Anyone have any ideas in the meantime?

It is probably still worth while taking it to an Apple store for a possible OOW replacement and let them make the decision, as it was broken before the OP took the back off.

Calendar events in iPhone randomly erased when syncing

So I've had some issues with syncing my iPhone's calendar to iCal. Sometimes after syncing, events that I had edited or added to my iPhone are erased. This seems to happen randomly, however so far it has only been happening with events that I have set to repeat on a weekly basis.
For example, today I put my work schedule for the week into my iPhone. So I edited the repeating events that correspond to my work schedule already in my iPhone to reflect the new times for the week. I edited my start and end times for Monday through Friday. So then I got home and synced to iCal and my work schedule for Friday was erased. Why just Friday while the other days synced up fine? I don't know...
Any ideas as to why this happens? Why wouldn't the event just update on iCal instead of just deleting itself??

I have this exact same problem, but haven't figured out how to fix it. However, some of my events that are getting mysteriously deleted are not repeating events (some are repeating).
So, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks to AKRBTN for this reply to a previous poster. I had a similar question (not that iPhone was deleting past events, but that it just wasn't synching past events). I called APPLCARE; the rep said since my phone is out of warranty, I could either pay $20 to get help from her or go online. Easy choice to check the Apple community. Nice to find where the setting is.

You get duplicates, one from iCloud and another when you sync with your computer, IF iTunes is set to sync from the computer to the iPhone. Check your device settings (general tab, IIRC) in iTunes.

WWhy are events that have passed being erased in the calendar. I like to keep a record of what I have done on any given day, and the calendar keeps erasing things like doctor appointments, etc.

'sync events'. You can go back up to 6 months or 'all events'
Just be aware that those events contribute to the 'other' that uses up your device's memory, so you'll want to balance the data you keep with the space you want to use

Ical keeping both events when I move events from one google calendar to another

Hi all!
I use multiple google calendars and sync them with my iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Air. I like to move events from one calendar to another (for color coding purposes), and am coming across a unique issue that I hope someone has a solution to.
When I edit an event by moving the event from one calendar to another the events show up correctly on the iPhone and iPad, but not in my iCal on MacBook Air. (Only when I make the changes on my iPhone and iPad). For example, when I switch an event originally created in my 'appointments' calendar to my 'done' calendar the event shows up appropriately on iPhone and iPad, and even in my Google calendars on the web. But, the iCal on my MacBook Air keeps both events. This only happens when I make the changes from the iPhone or iPad. If I make calendar changes on my computer, then there are no hiccups on any of the devices.
It seems like a syncing issue with iCal, and I can't figure out how to prevent the duplications in my iCal on my computer from showing up. Quite annoying because I have to go in and delete all of the duplicated events on the computer at the end of the day.
I have the Mavericks OS on my MBA and the software on my iPad and iPhone are updated to the latest software.

Hi ive had 2 iphone 4's under the same apple id for the past yr. One phone is my fathers and the other phone is mine. I want to create an apple id for my dad and change his apple id on his iphone but keep his contacts and calendars. Can that be done and how do i do it?

Run iTunes, and you can select all the music that is on there and delete it if you wish. Then deauthorize the computer from your account if she won't be playing any of the music you bought on your account (this can be done under the store tab). Then have her sign out of your account on iTunes and then sign into hers. Also have her authorize the computer for her account.

IPhone 4 iOS 4.1 - Calendar App List View Not Showing Events Immediately

After upgrading to iOS 4.1, whenever I open the calendar in List view mode the events do not show up immediately. I have to navigate to the "Day" style or "Month" style before I can see any events. All the events are viewable normally in both the "Day" & "Month" style calendar but the "List" view.
I regularly sync my iPhone with iCal events and with Google calendar. I did delete and re-added the Google account but the problem persists.
Has anyone faced this problem? I will be doing a full restore again today. My wife's iPhone 3GS is working fine with the 4.1 build of 3GS.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 3G under iOs 4.1 (8B117) with one local calendar and three Google calendars. The first time the Calendar application is loaded, if it opens in "List" view, no events are displayed. Switching to another view is enough to get the items back. In "Day" and "Month" views, the events eventually appear after some time (~5 to 10 seconds).
My boyfriend has the same problem on his iPhone 4 under iOS 4.1 (less annoying because of multi-tasking).
Hopefully this will be fixed in iOS 4.2... :-S

Outlook Calendar to iPhone Syncing Issue - Event Alerts

When my outlook calendar events sync to my iphone 4, the event gives me an alert 15 minutes before the event. I checked, and there is no alert set on my outlook calendar, and on the iphone I have set the default alert to none for calendar events. Why would the synced event give me a 15 minute alert, when I created the event in outlook to not alert me?

When I first got my iPhone 3Gs about 18 months ago I was having trouble with the sync-ing of calendars and found that events that DID repeat "forever" were the problem. After changing them to only repeat for (say) one year's worth of time (weekly meetings) or about 10 years (annual events) everything worked OK.
It appeared that if there were too many entries that the sync. broke. For example I have one uncle born in 1912 (yeah he's seen a few things in his life...) and his birthday would not sync at all until I lied and said he was born in 1972 (other dates might have worked also I just lost motiviation for trying to pin-point the problem -- I had a support case open with Apple but they were never able to explain the behavior .... just that (after I figured it out) "ummm yeah, that's the way it works" ....
