IPhone keyboard clicking though disabled

All,
I just purchased a 3G iPhone and updated to OS 2.2. I've disabled keyboard clicks in the Sounds menu however it will still click in some circumstances. An example of this is while entering in a web address in Safari.
Any thoughts on how to completely disable this? Perhaps you're to do this somewhere else on the phone?

There is no other place to enable or disable keyboards clicks - that I'm aware of.
Try an iPhone reset, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so.

    Hey jackphyl,
When you adjust the speaker volume does it show the volume and say (headphones)? If so there could be lint in the headphone jack.

if anyone can help me out , I will be really glad for that =)
If anyone who are facing the same problem , welcome to my thread and share out our experience.
    Thanks =)

I have the identical problem as above. For some reason, the phone will go into a mode where most of the sounds are not heard (except with headphones. The phone will ring normally but you can only hear the caller using the speakerphone (or headsets).. all sounds are turned on in settings and the side slider is not in "silent" mode.
Re-powering the phone seems to fix the problem for a while.. Toggling the sounds, slider, bluetooth, lock/unlock, etc. have no effect on the problem.
I cant ascertain what scenario causes it to revert to the "headset" mode though.. Any advice would be appreciated..

  • IPhone 5S, iOS 7.0.1 Keyboard Click Sounds

    Hey guys,
I am having an issue with the Keyboard Clicking SOunds. It is really hard to pinpoint exactly when or why they stop. I always have my volume turned up. But occasionally, I will be typing and there is just no sound. It is not consistent.
    Anyone else epxeriencing this?

Same problem here with an iPhone 4s and iPad 3. I'm not sure if it had already occured on iOS 7.0.0-7.0.3, but it definitely occurs since iOS 7.0.4.
Rebooting the device fixes the problem temporarily, but after a certein amount of time, the system sounds (including the 'click' when applying the smart cover to the iPad) are turned off.

    Hi nitramred,
To start troubleshooting this issue where you are unable to adjust the volume after receiving a call, please go ahead and first force close all of the apps currently running on the device, and then reset it by following the steps in the articles below.
iOS: Force an app to close
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

  • IOS 8 iPhone 6 Plus Keyboard Click Volume Low

The Keyboard click sounds are too low to be heard when typing into any text entry field.
Volume is up all the way.
This is the only sound effect that is not working, all other sounds work just fine.
Have restarted several times, no change.
Have had the iPhone 6 Plus for about a month and this just started happening a couple of days ago, very annoying.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi Japib thanks for the reply.
I have both volumes all the way up, seems to be an intermittent thing...
Seems the volume for keyboard clicks 'turns off' on its own randomly, very odd, maybe a defective phone?

Keyboard clicks and lock sounds are off even though the settings show them as "on". How to get them back?

Use the volume buttons on the side of the phone.  Personally, I find it's better with those off completely.

  • My iPhone 5s won't let me hear music out of my speaker , I can only use my headphones , I can't even hear the keyboard clicks .

My iphone5s won't let me hear any music only with headphones , I can't even hear the keyboard clicks .

    Hello reyna171,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot your iPhone's speakers please go through the following steps:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.

  • IPhone 4 - not ringing or bleeping (for texts) and no keyboard clicks

My phone (about 6 weeks old) has stopped ringing when a call comes in, or notifying me if a text is received. Also the keyboard clicks aren't working. I have checked in settings and all are turned on, and works on test when I select a ringtone, but won't work in normal use. Has it broken or am i doing something wrong? (I didn't change any of the settings prior to this). My software is up to date. Thanks guys.

Be sure your silent switch is disabled. If it's enabled, all sounds are muted and on vibration only. If you have a bluetooth headset enabled, this also mutes the sounds.

  • HT1349 My iPhone keyboard doesn't click

My IPhone 4 keyboard doesn't click.  I tried to check the settings (Sounds ➡ Keyboard Clicks) but it's ON. What should I do to make it work again?

For everyone's information, the "silent switch" is on the top left side of the iPhone 4. I sometimes switch it on accidentally, and being new to iPhones, can't figure out what's wrong. The photo below shows the silent switch
in the "on" position (orange / red bar showing above switch). Flick the switch up to turn the silent switch "off", then you should get your keyboard sounds back.
