IPhone Keypad popping up during Shutdown

Hello Apple Technicains and Users, i don't know if this was posted before but there is a firmware problem that i've been noticing (and a couple of my friends) during the normal shutdown of the iPhone 4.
What would happen during the shutdown normally occurs 1/3, but when it's shutting down the circular progress bar will show indicating it shutting down, then after about 3 - 10 seconds the keypad will pop up. After about 2 minutes of it being up it fully shuts down.
iPhone Information -
iPhone Type - 4G
iPhone Firmware - 4.3.3
iPhone Condition - 3 Months old ( Never dropped )
Jailbroken - God no.
Carrier - ROGERS
Is anybody also having this problem? Or is it just me and my freinds?

Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, you may have a hardware issue with the Proximity Sensor on your iPhone 5s. To completely isolate, you can attempt the troubleshooting steps recommended for these symptoms:

Screen won't lock or go black when answering calls
Verify mute or speaker have not been activated, just prior to placing your ear over the receiver.
While on a call hold your hand over the top third of the display, and verify that the screen is locked or goes to sleep.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.

Menu bar pops up during shutdown

Hi there,
I admit this is rather a cosmetical problem but my Macbook Pro Retina 13" late 2013 has started showing the menu bar during shutdown just recently. I click on shutdown followed by the normal grey screen. Then the menu bar pops up as well as the mouse and i can even click on the menus. The rest of the screen stays grey. Is there any possibility to find out why the menu bar shows up?

Yes you can, if you ve got LV 8.0 or above...
Else, you ve to play around with the Event Structure in that you ve to poll for the mouse button in the Numeric's Mouse Down event. If the value is 2, that means you ve got a Rt Click from the mouse & accordingly pop-up a Listbox pre-filled with the Menus you want. Get the Coordinates from the Event Data Node on the left side & wire it to the Coordinates property of the Listbox. After a Menu selection is done, again hard-code the Corodinates property of the Listbox with some value that is invisible from the User's field of view.
You can achieve within an hour of wiring from blank...

The Game Center app is pre installed and cannot be removed from the device.
Best thing to do is move it to the last available screen.
Hold down the Game Center app until all the apps jiggle then sliide the Game Center app to the right from one screen to the next. This requires a bit of finesse, but it's doable.
Press the Home button one time to stop the apps from jiggling.
For the Apple ID issue, try resetting.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then try your Apple ID and password for the Game Center app.

After being inspected by techs at the Genius Bar, my phone has been replaced twice; thus, I am currently on my third iPhone 5. Incredibly, I am, yet again, experiencing the exact same issue. Short of getting my fourth iPhone, is anyone aware of a solution?

if it's the exact same issue, either it's a problem with your service or with your software if you're restoring from a backup each time. it's pretty darn near impossible for 3 phones to have the same exact hardware issue, so that's unlikely. is this an at&t iphone? if so, are you continuing to use the same sim card? if so, get a new one and try that out. if that's not the issue, restore the phone as new and make a few phone calls. if the issue's gone away, there's something wrong with your backup

Try putting your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. After that then test it out. If during the restore you get and error code, check it against the second article for further assistance.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

Strange icon during shutdown...

Does anyone else have a strange icon flash on the display for a fraction of a second during shutdown? I running 10.5.1 on my 15" MBP 2.16 Core Duo and have noticed a real weird icon that only shows up occasionally during shutdown. It usually blinks on and off too fast to really see what it is, but I think it is sort of like the symbol on the command key and has a red X across it. I don't have any issues with the MBP with the exception of some files that Disk Utility is having trouble with when I repair permissions which seems to take a long time. It gets to a point where it says time remaining is less than a minute, but keeps going and going for another 3-5 minutes after displaying this:

I did as you suggested and the permissions issue is fully resolved. Never had an issue using the Software Update pane, but I'll file the in my overloaded brain for another time.
I haven't seen the strange icon during shutdown again, but I did identify it as the icon for a piece of software called KeyCue. It shows keyboard shortcuts for the active application by holding down the Command key for about 2 seconds.

IMac hangs up during shutdown

My iMacs (2006 + late 2007) occasionally lockup during shutdown. After the desktop icons are gone but the desktop photo remains with the spinning pinwheel. Eventually I force a shutdown by holding down the power button. On restart, everything is back to normal. Sometimes I have waited for 2 hours and the machine has not shut down - only gone to sleep.

Same problem here, but it hangs all the time, not only 10-20% of the shutdown. I let it there for about 2 hours, nothing changed.
I have no idea if this is time machine related, but if it is, it's a bug. Apple can't wan't me to check the sys prefs every time i shut down my iMac...
By the way it's a two week old iMac which replaced my older one. I moved all the data by reinstalling leopard on the new iMac and telling the installer to rebuilt the system from the time machine data of my old iMac... Maybe something went wrong there.

System freeze during shutdown

I have noticed a couple of times that during shutdown immediately when plymouth kicks in the system just freezes. It is not leaving behind any logs. And it does not occur often. I use kde 4.4 rc2 from kde-mod. But this occurs after kdm quits and plymouth kicks in.
Anyone else facing the same issue? Any ideal how I can debug this?

To follow on from the advice re ensuring the driver is the latest version before attempting any other fix, if the problem continues, it is by far better to have the system shutdown gracefully by pulling the USB connection than to shutdown by removing power! At worst, disconnecting the USB cable would do no more than cause problems to the system's printer setup files or print queues, but disconnecting the power COULD cause significant damage to directory and file structure on the hard drive, and actually result in the system being unable to boot.

2- when you shutdown the database with the IMMEDIATE , option , open transaction are rolled back before the database is shutdown .
3- shutting down the database with abort always requires an instance recovery at the next startup .
please suggest the right answer .

Hi Anwar,
When you close a database, Oracle writes all database data and recovery data in the SGA to the datafiles and redo log files, respectively. Next, Oracle closes all online datafiles and redo log files.
When you terminate the instance of an open database/use abort command to close and completely shut down the database the writing of all data in the buffers of the SGA to the datafiles and redo log files is skipped. The subsequent reopening of the database requires recovery, which Oracle performs automatically.
I hope this will help you out to understand the process.

First of all shutdown has 4 options
1.Normal
2.Immediate
3.Transactional
4.Abort
Default is normal
Normal: No new connections are allowed. Database and redo buffers are written into disk.Database is closed.
     Backgroud process are terminated.SGA is deallocated. Until and unless all users disconnect, database wont be closed.
Transactional: No client can start a new transaction. Clients get disconnected once their transactions are completed.
     Database and redo buffers are written into disk.Database is closed.Backgroud process are terminated.SGA is deallocated.
Immediate: Current running SQL are not completed. Oracle does not wait for users to disconnect.
     All active transactions are rolled back.Database and redo buffers are written into disk.
     Database is closed.Backgroud process are terminated.SGA is deallocated.
Abort: All users are disconnected.Database and redo buffers are NOT written into disk.
All background processes are killed instantly and instance is abruptly terminated.

Are you sure that it has a charge? Try leaving it connected to it's wall charger for a while and then see if it will start up.

The "slide to unlock" stuck.
I could receive phone, sms, and other notification but can not answer nor reply.
It stuck. This only happened during charging, when I pull the plug, it work normally again.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

That is not good but lets see if we can get it back to life. If you can, see if you can put your iPhone into recovery mode and then use iTunes to restore it. If you can get it to restore, it will erase everything off your iPhone. If you have a back up in iTunes or iCloud then you can put that on after the restore is complete.
