IPhone like sleeping beauty

Hello fellow iPhone users and apple addicts.
First things first: As you might have noticed right from the beginning, I'm no native english speaker.
I'm from germany so please be patient with me
Let's dive right into my problem:
I love my iPhone but since, let's say 2-3 months it's behavior is really strange:
In 1 of 3 cases (33%) it wouldn't wake up after I put it in sleep mode (what kinda language am I posting in? sorry for that sentence).
So I press the Lock-Button and it goes into sleep mode. Very often (independently if it plays music/podcasts) it isn't reacting when i press either lock or home button.
When music is playing it is playing without any problems in sleep mode though I can't wake it up!
The only posibilities I have is either to sleep-home-button it (restart) or to call my phone.
If I call it, its like it does every commands i did before in 1 action.
So for example if I pressed before home and sleep button several times (let's say 3) and I call myself it is blinking white, doing screenshots and having them stored in camera roll.
Or when I'm switching the mute-button and then call it, it shows this bell-icon.
And every of these actions at the same time.
And the other weird thing: When I call myself, the iPhone mostly don't even take the call. The caller gets my mailbox right away and I just get my unlock-slider. Just in a few cases I can answer the call.
When I don't answer the call (if I get the ability to do so), the iPhone is after that still "unawake-able".
But if I unlock it after calling me, it is fully reliable, no problems while using it (while it's awake, sure).
I restored it via iTunes several times till now (i guess at least 5).
I have no jailbreak and I've never jailbroken my phone.
And as I called Apple Germany because of that Problem i got a completely new iPhone!
I usually have 500mb to 1,5gb free space but I even tried with more, no improvement.
It's horrible, you are afraid all the time if the iPhone wakes up or if it's not!
And it is not reliable at all. Think of rebooting like 1-2 minutes every third time you want to use it.
Please help me, this forum might be my very last chance.

thank you for your help, but when a gadget does not allow any background processes how could an application affect the phone anyhow?
I'm desperate at this moment. Aren't there any technical "details" about the working of the iPhone that could explain my problem?
For example an calender event of mine, or some data in an apple app that is causing those issues?

Take it to an Apple Store and have them take a look. Make a Genius bar appointment.

Sleep/Wake button will not lock or unlock iPhone
To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
Try to lock or unlock the phone.

HT4628 My iMac loses its connection with my home wi-fi network when it goes into "idle" mode. That is, if I don't use the Mac for a few minutes, it goes to idle, kind of like sleep. The wi-fi connection disappears and the clock upper right stops working.

I think it's a Lion problem. I had this problem with an old Dell True Mobile wireless router, and hoped it would go away with a new Airport Express router. Same problem. I checked online and saw a lot of message boards featuring questions from people that suffered the interruption of their wi-fi connection, some with Macbooks others with iMacs like me. The problem happens when I don't use the computer for a few minutes. It goes into the Idle mode, kind of like sleep. The connection is severed and the time clock upper right stops. It's weird. There was supposedly an Apple update that addressed this issue, so at the Genius bar two days ago I updated to 10.7.3, downloaded and installed the update. Didn't work. Is it Lion? Is it a wireless card issue? Very frustrating. I subitted a genius bar work authorization with another Apple Genius Bar support tech the next day. He ran some tests. Cryptically said he knew that Apple knew about this and was working on a solution but couldn't tell me what it was. Submitted my info and said I'd be contacted by an Apple tech within 48 hours and provided with a link to another download of another update that should "fix" the problem. I don't know what to do.

I FINALLY SOLVED THIS ISSUE!!!!
New routers have "mixed" modes for your network; this means that it will automatically choose the best option between wireless-B, wireless-G and wireless-N network modes. I used to experience this issue using the 2.4 GHz. mixed mode wireless network.
Thankfully, my router can create 2 networks: a 2.4 GHz. network and a 5 GHz. network.
When I randomly changed this value to "use only wireless-B and wireless-G" trying to fix an issue with a wi-fi expander, the iMac wi-fi issue dissapeared! I tried it with wireless-N only, but it didn't work.
So, finally, I have a 2.4 GHz network with only wireless-B and wireless-G modes which works PERFECT with the iMac, and a 5 GHz. network with a mixed* wireless mode for everything else mode.
*PD: by "mixed" mode it means that the router will automatically choose between B, G and N network modes as it fits better.

IPhone 3GS Sleep button falling off

Recently i went to press my sleep button and it was dodgy and didnt put my iphone to sleep and when i put my iphone down on my desk the sleep button fell off please can you help me what to do?

The sleep/wake/power button is very important. If it "fell off" then you must have a crack or bad defect in the case in that area. Glue, such as Super Glue can work wonders if you know what you are doing. If you are not careful with such strong glue you can also do much worse damage to the iPhone. Until you get this repaired, or better yet buy a new phone, you can use Assistive Touch for perfect Virtual Button. Tap Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap the new small white screen button > Device > Lock. You can even use this button to turn the iPhone OFF. To turn the iPhone ON, connect to power ie, charger or USB of computer.

I spoke with the apple care service because the sleep buttom on my iPhone is broken! Now the phone will be returned and for which they have my credit card number used, etc! Do I have to pay for this express delivery? And if so, how much?

IPhone like GUI for the 755p - Touch Launcher

Bought an app yesterday for my 755p. It is called Touch Launcher and it provides an iPhone like GUI to the phone. I think it is pretty cool.
In the TouchLauncher Options menu, i'm able to scroll what i'm presuming all of the apps installed on my phone. I simply assigned camera to the camera icon, clock to the clock icon....
But, I'm stumped when it comes to assigning an app to the SMS icon. I just don't see any name in the scroll down menu that resembles SMS. Does anyone on this forum know the name of the file or app that i should select for SMS in my 755 running palm os?

googling like crazy have learned that Touch Launcher is V2 of this app. iPhoneImpersonator was V1. Thats the one i have. V1 is more to my liking. Anyways, the SMS app is identified as Nexter. That's not quite so intuitive as camera...

Oh, if anyone knows how to turn off the 755 keyguard so the iPhoneImpersonator 'touch and slide to unlock' (like the iPhone) is the default, I'm curious. I've emailed the author but haven't heard back. I will close this thread when he does.

I cannot get any phone call when my iphone is sleeping

Hi,everyone. I cannot get any phone call when my iphone is sleeping ( or locked ). After I active my phone, it will show how many call I missed. Does anyone have the same problem with mine? I tried reset, update software, but still not working.

to put your iPhone to sleep follow these steps:
1) press the sleep button once - screen will go dark and you'll hear a click.
2) press home button once - screen will light up with your wallpaper in the background, time, date, etc.
3) DO NOTHING for five (or so) seconds and then your iPhone will sleep.
if you receive a call, iPhone will wake automatically. otherwise to wake the iPhone, press the home button - iphone will wake. slide the unlock bar (enter pass code, if enabled) and use.
to return to sleep mode, repeat sequence (1 through 3)
doing this will allow calls to come through while Iphone is asleep and prolong the battery charge exponentially.

No - the iPhone does not include a rules feature to sort recieved messages by category, and you can't create mailboxes with the iPhone's Mail client. The iPhone's Mail client is a compliment to the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, not a replacement for.
With an IMAP account along with storing all user created mailboxes on the server for sorting recieved messages by category, all server stored mailboxes will be available with the iPhone's Mail client and kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account. If you keep the Mail.app on your Mac launched and running, any sorting of received messages to user created server stored mailboxes based on rules with the Mail.app on your Mac will be reflected automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail client. This is not possible with a POP account.

The iPhone does not currently support tethering. An app that made that possible was available very briefly before being pulled from the App Store.

Oh, I forgot to add that I've also tried repairing permissions.

you can try to restore it if you can still click the button but it just isnt responding or if the button is stuck you can take it to apple retail store
