Iphone loads negative messages (-5, eg) and not able to view mail
My mail is acting so weird - my red circle on the mail icon always shows negative new messages (-4 or -8, etc.).
I deleted the account and re-input my info and saw it load all the messages, but after loading, none can be viewed.. it actually seems locked up. It only displays ONE message - the most recent, but I can't even open that.
I was running 2.0.1. Same result after I updated to 2.0.2
I have restarted the iphone, reset network settings, reset the phone - all to no avail! Is it just broken?
I'm in the same boat and currently on hold with Apple - aaarrrgggghhh! My email is a Verizon account (POP). Connection doctor tells me everything is connecting, I've downloaded the most recent mail update, and I've tried many solutions posted on forums that have not worked. The mail icon is in the dock but does nothing when selected. When I manually open up the mailbox through File>New Viewer Window, all mailboxes are there but are empty. Any ideas? Am I looking at an archive and install? Thanks!

And some time it's worked...OMG.....this very tiny hole located next to the headset jack........I suffered for the same issue around 20 days after purchasing my iPhone 4S. Even I visit the apple store too, they suggested to talk with apple online.....just before going to apple, i was reading "iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting" (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802) and at the very first line, i found "Make sure that nothing is blocking the top microphone (located next to the headset jack)." and this located next to the headset jack solved the problem completely for sound in vidio as well as sound with calling speaker phone.....Actually, I purchased a plastic cover (like screen protector type) that blocked this small hole (microphone hole i think) and the problem was because of this...I remember on the first day i talk with speacker phone (nothing on iPhone at that time) and it was working...
No need to restore or hard reset anything...i was fearing i'll lost everything if I hard reset my iPhone that took 5-10 to build my iPhone as I like apps, music, vidio on it.... -

settings-general-reset-reset all settings
now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

Not able to view mails in inbox
Hi I use ovi mail and currently i am not able to view mails in any of the folders. I use the same user name as that of my yahoo mail account. Does this has to do anything.
Have you tried a battery pull yet?

Hey looking for any sort of help or info someone has to help me out. I saved a bunch of jpg's png's gif's pdf's and html's all those files with those endings won't let me open or view them I saved them on a flash drive. If it helps at all there a little more. Other files like fla's psd's and ai's files can be loaded and used. And I almost forgot, when I tried to open and view one of the html files i have on Safari this is what I got to pop up instead of the page I designed "¥ÒgOçiƒ‰ ç}Á#Ÿ03³-¤Â\¤ƒ°wð ¥s0¼Ì* ‘ò=‰õs.lPY„Œ{ôõfòiÐ0œø Á…" One more thing to add if it helps. I can't delete any of the jpg's png's gif's pdf's and html's files out of the trash of the flash drive and the trash is taking up over a GB of memory
Any thoughts...
Or ideas??Ok well things just worse now its saying when I'm trying to open up the other files that worked. Its now saying that the psd file can't be read in Photoshop along with fla's in Flash and finally ai with Illustrator.

I have added an iPhone 4 to my household and the wifi in our home no longer works for my iPhone 4S or the new iPhone 4. Both will connect to the wifi, but we are not able to view anything i.e. google just runs circles, app store just runs loading, gps on maps not found just runs? I have check all wifi issues with ATT&T, Verizon network all believe that it is the phones? I am confused as my 4S worked fine before adding the 4 to the mix....any thoughts are hits to what to do

Help! I have an iPhone 4 and when I tap the "messages" thumbnail I'm not able to see a list of my text message threads.
I contacted Verizon (my phone's carrier) and they told me to simultaneously press the on/off button and the menu button. That rebooting fixed the problem, but will I have to do this all the time? Wonderinf if I should take the phone back to the Apple store and get a new one. I've had the phone about two weeks.

WWhat are you syncing your contacts with? A supported application on the computer or cloud service? They should still be there.

Blue means the message was sent as an iMessage.
If sent as green, the recipient doesn't have an iPhone with iMessage enabled or if they do, they have turned iMessage off. -

FYI: Damage like that is not covered by warranty, & all Apple will offer you is an out of warranty replacement...cost, in the US, for an iPhone 4, is US $149. -

Try a reset to begin with. hold down the Sleep and Home key until Apple logo appears on the screen.
