Iphone locked to an unknown Apple Id
I bought an iPhone from a page and I can't get in contact with the person I bought it from. The phone is locked with an unknown Apple ID. Is there a way for me to find out the Apple ID so I can contact them and ask them to unsync the device? Or if this is a stolen phone, which by now I'm pretty sure it is, return it to the original owner?

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller
Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You need to return the Device for a refund, as you will not be able to re-activate it.

i can't do anything.I bought my 83 year old mother an iPad 1.5 years ago and it has never left her house. It was purchased brand new from Harvey Norman, a large retail chain in Australia. It was NOT purchased online, was purchased in-store. Only she has ever used it (and myself to set it up for her).
Recently she had a problem with iMessage so I did a backup, updated the iOS and did a factory reset.
On restarting the unit, the Activation Screen says the unit is now locked to 5*****@qq.com. This is an email address I have NEVER used, it certainly was
not an email address I used to setup the iPad originally and now the iPad is a brick. Apple online customer service was of no help other than "you must
enter the Apple ID that is linked to the hardware ... or contact the owner of the current Apple ID to have it released." As this is impossible to do because the whole ID is not shown (masked by asterisks) it is encumbant of Apple to resolve the issue.
My belief is either one of 2 things...
1. this qq.com is a Chinese company (truth) and they manufacture knock off Apple products using the same Serial Number Scheme, so when they register an Apple product on iTunes, their account takes over the "ownership" of the device.
2. it's maybe possible that an app that was downloaded from the AppStore was acting like a Trojan to deliver serial number info to qq.com and was used to hijack the device.
Either way, Apple's product/database has been compromised and Apple need to get onto this ASAP.
It is interesting to see that so many people have had the same issue with the same domain name as the Apple ID (ie ******.qq.com) and APPLE IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. -
How do I remove an unknown apple id from my iPhone which runs ios 7?
I have an iPhone 4 which has been upgraded to ios 7 and someone logged in with an unknown apple id and now find my iPhone is also turned on. I do not have the password so how do I delete my id? Each time I try it'd ask me for the find my iPhone password which I dont have. I would just factory reset it but I asked a few people and they say that if I reset it, it wont reboot or turn on due to some ios 7 security feature which just sounds stupid but I'm not taking any chances. Pleasee help!
And do tell me what would happen if I just factory reset it in my current situation..Unless you know the passcode to the Apple ID to which the phone is locked, there's not much you can do. If you are the original owner of the phone, you can try contacting Apple to see if they will assist you. They will need proof of original purchase.

Unknown "source"? Do you mean unknown "error" followed by a number?

Follow the instructions in the article. When you connect your phone again, you may have to press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears, then continue pressing the home button until iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode. -

Does your reciept state that the phone is "unlocked"?

Restore iphone with unknown apple id password
I have an iphone I would really like to use. It has been sitting for about a year. The previous user did not give us her icloud password and her account was not removed from the phone before she left the organization. I would really love to reset the phone and reuse it, but I do not know the password. There must be a way around this, can anyone help me out?

Then the phone is either lost or stolen, and the owner has enabled "lost mode". Activation lock cannot be bypassed, so without the correct Apple ID and password the phone is worthless to you...and everyone else.

Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?
