IPhone locking while watching YouTube

This only started happening with the update. I know it's not just me as my boyfriends does the same. You have to continue to click the screen when watching a video or it will dim and than lock!
Very frustrating when when you are trying to share a video with a group!
If anyone has this issue and fixed it please let me know! I have googled it and not found any resolutions.

(If you are reading the email I suggest you follow the email link to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929459#answer-341531 this information is formatted to be read on the website)
Sorry I can not give an immediate solution.
There seem to have been a few problems with Flashplayer recently. The sound problem was thought to have been solved, but has been around for a while.
#Please state what version of FlashPlayer you are currently using.
# then update to the current version, and confirm what version that is
* note the Flash site will check this for you and provide any download you need<br/>with Flash enabled in Firefox navigate to<br/>http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
As you have Win7 may I ask you to try using Internet Explorer and say whether or not that also suffers this problem?
Please also confirm which version of Firefox you are using? <br/> (note a minor update could be released this week so are you on 13'''.0''' )
* To check the version navigate to ''about:support''<br/>Key in about support into the Firefox address bar

  • Issues regarding auto lock while watching a movie

I decided to watch some Netflix before I went to bed and I noticed that my screen would dim and then eventually lock the phone.  This has never been an issue till tonight.  I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and what I can do to fix it.  Thank you

    Hey jberona,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone screen locks when using a 3rd party app. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

  • MBP at 160degF while watching youtube vids?

I have been watching youtube vids for the past 30 mins or so. All of a sudden i her the fans on my MPB spin up, first time i have heard them do this. (its 3 days old :D)
I look at iStat and i see this:

Why is it getting so hot? What can i do to prevent this?

Laptop is closed on my desk connected to my HDTV at 1080P. I use Firefox as my web browser, latest version.

    Hi Think,
Youtube videos (or anything that uses Flash, which Youtube does) are extremely CPU intensive, which creates heat. Your temperatures are not out of line though, 158ºF roughly equals 70ºC which is just fine for an operating temperature. Yes, it is a little warm, but its not going to do any damage. If you see greater than 200ºF then perhaps start to worry, but you shouldn't see temps that high.
My personal opinion on Flash is this:
Flash is, more often than not, used on the internet for advertisements. I don't really want to see too many advertisements, so I use an awesome Safari plugin called ClicktoFlash that basically loads a grey box in the place of flash content. If I decide that that content is something I'd like to view, then I simply click on the grey box. This stops Flash from running unnecessarily (which wastes CPU, generates heat, and decreases battery life).
Even better, it forces Youtube to load the H.264 versions of its videos. H.264 is a much higher quality and more efficient way of distributing video than Flash. Youtube began converting all its videos to H.264 a while ago, and so now the majority of them can be found in H.264. The result is higher quality videos on Youtube, less CPU use, less heat, and better battery life! Pretty good deal if you ask me!
You and others may want to try it out. It'll reduce your heat and increase battery life by a lot when using the web in general, but especially when using Youtube.

  • IMac constantly Freeze while watching Youtube or Flash-based clip

    Hi everyone
It is really getting on my nerves every time that I was watching Youtube or Website using Flash, the machine crashes and crashes and crashes!!!!
I did the Hardware Test and it didn't find any problem with Hardware.
I used the installation DVD to repair Disk Permission also
Could anyone please please help me how to trouble-shoot this seem-to-be-permanent issue???
Thank you very much in advance.
    James
P.S. My iMac was middle 2009, with Model identifier iMac9,1, SMC version 1.44f0

First do what whyisitsohard (HUH?) suggests. If that does not resolve the issue take a look at how much free space is available on your Hard drive. I would not recommend running Mac OS X with less than 10% free space remaining on your startup volume. The free space is used for hidden swap files that Mac OS X needs do to virtual memory, and for other temporary files used by the system. Once free space gets low, the remaining free space becomes more and more fragmented into small pieces. That makes it hard for Mac OS X to operate efficiently. This issue is most apparent when watching videos.

  • FF browser freezes while watching YouTube using v15.0

My flash and plugins are all up to date. With v15.0 upon trying to watch a video, Firefox freezes for about 4-5 seconds as though the streaming of the video freezes the entire browser including ALL tabs. I have 20mb high speed cable. This is new to this upgrade. I am truly losing patience with Firefox this year, never had so many issues in the past.

Thank you for your replies. Sancrya11 I am using v15.0, your paths to clear private data don't exist nor a Show cookies button. What version are you referring to?
A previous version v14 I think said to use an older flash version. Perhaps I'll do that again. Strange that MS Explorer jives with the latest Flash versions and FF can't seem to get in stride. FF freezes if I move the scroll bar while watching a video. (I have acceleration set to not accelerate, either way, same result.) Once I get this figured out, I won't upgrade FF anymore, or just switch browsers. Seems there is always a problem with FF now a days. It used to be the best browser.

  • Fan problem while watching youtube

    hi,
my fan starts turning really fast - around 6000rpm - whenever i access a website like youtube which has flash content in it. why is this, and how can i solve it?
    thanks!

If you had written down the fan RPM, %CPU usage of the top using processes, and the Video you are viewing, including the browser you are using, and then if your friends would do the same then you would have useful information that we could use to determine whether you have a software problem such as a runaway app or whether you have a hardware problem such as restricted airflow or a discontinuous heat sink. the software problem is fixable without sending your MacBook away. A hardware problem very likely is not. It would be very useful to know which it is.
Without these numbers everything is nothing but a guess. We know almost nothing. For instance, if their CPU percentage is the same as yours, and they are running the same apps and watching the same video BUT their fan speed and temperature both are lower than your then it suggests that your computer is not cooling as well as their when the load is the same. This means you have an airflow restriction OR a poorly functioning heat sink on the CPU or other chip.
On the other hand, If their CPU% usage is much lower than yours while doing the exact same tasks then this means you have a software issue, NOT a hardware issue and it should be fairly easy to solve. but without these numbers, like I say, you can only guess what your problem is.

  • IPhone locks while following directions in Map app

Is it possible to add an option to the Map application that prevents the phone from locking itself while following directions. Have to keep swiping the phone to wake it up again while driving and using the directions option. Surely if you're using directions you want the phone to stay awake (unless you manually lock it). Maybe let it lock itself if you're only looking at the map, but allow it to stay awake if following directions.
How do we submit this as a future update request?

Many third party navigation apps can be set to disable the auto lock. Until a possible Maps app update comes around you can do it yourself in settings. It is a pain because you would need to set auto lock to never before running the app and set it back to your normal auto lock time on after.

  • IPhone locks up when Youtube video is paused and phone goes to sleep mode

When a youtube video starts playing and i pause it for a bit and let the phone go to sleep , it locks up. I cannot wake the phone up by using any of the normal methods. So I have to reset the iPhone to do anything.
This behavior is reproducible on my iPhone.
    Anyone else experience this?

    Rehan
That's definitely a situation you should let Apple know about.

  • Wifi gets disconnected after sometime while watching youtube on iPod Touch.

When I'm watching video on youtube, the wifi network suddenly gets disconnected after some time.
Even when I goto settings->wifi, I'm unable to find the wifi network.
However, at the same time I can find the wifi network and am able to browse internet on my laptop and mobile phone. I get the wifi network back, on when I switch off wifi and switch it after some 2mins of time.

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router.
    - Reset networks settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Does it happen with other networks?
    - Next would be to restore the iPod.

  • How can I get to fullscreen mode while watching YouTube videos?

Extremely inconveniently to watch videos on sites. Please explain, what's the problem?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing.
Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies, do the following:
    # Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
    # Tap Settings.
    # After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section Privacy & Security and select Clear private data.
    # You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    * Cookies & active logins
    * Cache
After those have been selected, tap the Clear data button to actually clear the cache and cookies.

  • [solved] Sudden reboot while watching youtube video

    *[edit]*
Nevermind. I've just noticed that the over clock is blinking. Apparently the power went out for a second.
    Well, that was fun.
    *[/edit]*
I was watching a video on youtube just now (on x86_64, with the flashplugin package from [multilib]) when the system suddenly rebooted. During the reboot it recovered and recommitted the journal and everything seems to be fine, but now I'm worried.
I can't find anything in the logs to indicate what could have happened but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. What should I check?
I don't even know if this has anything to do with flash. I had lmms open too, and maybe cmus.
For your amusement, here are the thoughts that when through my head right after the screen suddenly went black:
wtf, did I forget to plug in the charger again?
wait, i'm not on the laptop
    oh fsck*
    * The last time a system suddenly died on me, the psu had burnt out... which itself was funny, because I noticed the smell of burnt plastic and rubber before it happened. I assumed it was coming from outside, closed the window, and went to get a drink. When I came back, the system was dead and I had a little epiphany regarding the source of the previous smell.

    - are you using an UPS? Maybe there was a small power outage and w/o a battery support your computer went off and on when the power came back a second later.
    - a short-circuit of some kind?
Heh, I just realize the same thing and edited the OP before I saw your post.
I didn't even think of that possibility before I saw the clock though, because the computer instantly rebooted. I've never noticed the power go out for less than a second.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • I want to talk on skype and watch YouTube same time. But YouTube is too loud. How can I can change the two volumes? Tia!

I want to talk in skype on my iphone 5, and watch YouTube together. But I can't hear on skype because YouTube is too loud. How can I control the two different volumes?

This is a user to user support forum.  We are all iphone users just like you.
You are not addressing Apple here at all.
This is an odd way to ask your fellow iphone users for help. Berating oterh users will not help you.
    "it's too fragile"
No it is not.  i have never damaged one, nor has anyone I know.
" U loose data when Ur phone is locked"
No you don't.  Why do you think this?
"and there is no customer support!!!  "
Wrong yet again.  Apple has an 800 number and they have many retail stores and they have support articles that you can access using the search bar. Or you can contact them throgh express lane online
"but I will go back with Blackberry "
    Please do.

  • BSOD when watching YouTube on Lenovo Y580

    Hi,
I'm new to the Lenovo forum, but I've had my Lenovo Y580 for a long time and it hasn't given me many problems until recently. Around 4 days ago, I was watching YouTube on Google Chrome when I realized that around 60% of the time before a video starts, I would get something along the lines of "The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback" for a 1/4 of a second, before the video would start. After watching 5-6 YouTube videos the computer froze, went to a black screen for 5 seconds, before it said "Display Driver stopped working and has recovered", and it said something about Intel drivers.
I brushed this off, but the next day while watching YouTube again, the computer froze, but this time the mouse disappeared shortly after and I was greeted with my first BSOD since I bought this computer in December 2012. It said something along the lines of "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA", and this happened another 3 times, all after watching a couple of YouTube videos. So I finally got fed up and looked that error up, and it said memory was bad. So I tried Windows Memory Diagnostic a couple of times and it says that memory is okay. I then installed new NVIDIA and Intel Graphics drivers, and I am still getting the same crashes. I am unsure what to do right now because this only happens when I watch YouTube, for instance if I watch some YouTube the computer will crash after 30 minutes, whereas I can play BF4 for hours straight without it skipping a beat. Obviously I have been using YouTube for a long time so for this just to start happening now puzzles me. I also forgot to mention that this happens usually right after I exit the video.
    Thanks for your support.

    Good day.
You mention Chrome. Do you have the same difficulties with YouTube in other browsers (FF or IE)?
