IPhone Mac USB connection issue

Every time I connect my iPhone 5 (iOS 7) to the iMac, it looses cell network (shows “No Service”). Anyone experiencing the same?

  • USB Connection Issues-New Mac Pro

I have a new Mac Pro (late 2013) that has USB connection issues.
First; it often fails to recognize a USB keyboard, or takes more than a minute to do so.  I tried it with two different keyboards, one a regular Apple USB keyboard and the other a Das Keyboard unit.  I tried it both on a powered USB hub and directly connected to the computer.  Neither of these affected the problem.  It happened both under Mountain Lion and Yosemite, and seems to be worse under Yosemite.  This problem DOES NOT occur on my Mac Mini, so the problem appears to be with the Mac Pro.  Most of the time unplugging and plugging the keyboard in again solves the problem.  This gets old.  I have gone to using a bluetooth keyboard but much prefer the USB keyboards with the numeric keyboard.
It also ejects the only USB drive attached to it.  It does not eject the two Thunderbolt drives.  The disconnection occurs when the Mac Pro is in the "sleep" mode; the "Disk not ejected properly" message is displayed when the computer wakes up.  This happens almost all the time.  The same drive does not exhibit this behavior when attached to the Mac Mini.  It is an older G-Drive unit.
Possibly related to this is the fact that the two Thunderbolt units (Pegasus R2 and Lacie) do not shut off when the Mac Pro is sleeping.  I wonder if the problem lies in how the unit "sleeps" and "wakes up".  I don't know enough about the internal workings of these things to know how to test for this.
If anyone knows how to fix this I'd appreciate some advice.

  • Help: USB Connection issues

I have been having USB connection issues for 2 month and can't seem to find a fix. My MP is a 2 x 2.8 Quad-core with 16 GB ram, OS X 10.6.5. When I connect devices (iPhone, iPad, CF card reader) everything connects but when I sync or try downloading photos from my CF reader I get partially through but then I get an error that the device has been ejected.
I have tried disconnecting my hub and connected directly to the ports but no change. Tried new cords, hubs. If I connect my Canon 7D camera directly to a USB port I can get the images off but that take for ever because of the file size. The only thing that seem to work and not loose my connection is my Epson Pro 3800 printer.
I'm getting desperate at this point, I have two important photo shoots coming up the first of the year and need to get things working properly. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Here's some tips.

  • N97 usb connectivity issues

    Hi,
I've had my N97 for about a week now and am having some serious USB connectivity issues with the phone in that when I connect to my PC, on the first occasion it will recongnise the USB connection, but if it gets disconnected it subsequently won't reconnect.  This means I am unable to install the latest version of the firmware which appears to address some USB issues.  I've tried both version 1 and the beta 2 Ovi suite.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks,
    Trev

    Hi!
Me and my friend at work got the same STUPID problem. We unpacked our phones, connected them and upgraded FW and got everything setup (mail, music etc.)
Now I got back to work and thought that it was no problem plugging in my phone and update it with some new music and contacts...well was I wrong...the stupid 7000 SEK phone won't even take the electricity and charge...I get no connection to the PC...it worked fine 2 days ago...
So I try to install the stuff on the CD again, no luck....I tell Windows to add new hardware, nowhere on the Internet and nowhere on the CD are there drivers to be found...
So here I am with a million dollar phone I can't connect to my PC...what the hell is this???
Looking in this thread and seeing the answers I should not hold my breath waiting for this to be fixed...but my question is: Will I have to wait for a FW update for this phone to connect to my PC?
    Regards

  • USB connectivity issues

I recently bought a 20GB 4G iPod from a friend, who had bought it originally off of ebay atleast a year ago so all I have is the ipod itself and a usb cable.
Everything on it works fine, all of the music previously put on works fine, as do pictures, etc. But when I went to go add and delete files off of the ipod I got the "USB Device Not Recognized" balloon popup in XP. After going through these forums and numerous others I haven't been able to accomplish anything. I've tried the 5R's (except for restore as I haven't been able to get the ipod connected in any way to this computer).
I have another computer downstairs which is a few years older, about 5 years old but which has XP installed aswell, so I figured I might try and see if I could get anything to work on that.I tried to plug the ipod into just to see if something would work, and it showed up in My Computer right away before I had iTunes installed. I did, however get an error about the usb ports not being high speed, I'm assuming they're USB1.1 giving the computer's age, but it worked nevertheless. I got the ipod to charge, it to be accessible from iTunes, and to show up in Windows Explorer without a hitch.
After having it fully charged I tried once again to hook the ipod up to any usb port with no avail. I checked both computers' properties and found both have 500 mA to each USB port, so I would assume the USB 2.0 ports would have a better chance of working than the 1.1?
Any help is greatly appreciated, let me know if you need more information, thanks!

This may sound really strange, but if your computer has a FireWire connection, try using that instead. I recently bought a new computer (HP w/Windows XP) and had all sorts of USB connection issues.

    iPod needs to be restored

Finally fed up, I tried the FireWire ports on the computer and it worked not problem. iTunes popped right up and started updating.

  • IPhone loses USB connection during sync

My new iPhone is working fine so far except for one pretty major issue: I can't sync music/videos to it very well, because about 20/30 seconds into the sync, it loses USB connection. The "Sync in Progress" screen disappears and it goes back to the home screen, and I get an error message in iTunes that says "The drive cannot be found" or "The drive cannot be read from or written to"
The sync itself does work, because I tried syncing a playlist with only one song, and it worked fine because it had time to sync before the connection was lost.
I have USB 2.0 ports and my drivers are updated. I've tried every USB port on my computer.

I read your other thread and a couple of things struck me.
First, it wasn't clear to me whether you'd actually turned off auto sync and then gone in and disabled everything except for a movie or two, let's say. Because we have definitely seen issues where other sync aspects (particularly email) cause issues with media syncing. If you haven't tried it it's definitely worth a try (go into iTunes with the iPhone connected and turn off auto sync -- then hook up the phone and turn off all sync options. I'd then try a music playlist with an album or two. If that works turn off music sync and try with a video or two).
Assuming the above gets you nowhere (and trying to place myself in your shoes) if you lived here in the US (which I don't think you do) the easy no-brainer thing to try would be something like this:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7833785&type=product&id=1142298626 004
Since Best Buy offers a money-back return policy this is safe to try and only involves a bit of work in installing the card. But doing this will isolate the MB from the problem, as well as any drivers issues (since the drivers for the card should be okay).
In the old days this kind of solution (albeit with firewire cards) was recommended all the time with iPods, and it solved about 98% of all difficulties. I don't have any data (even anectdotal) here to back it up, but my feeling is this should solve whatever problems you're having. If not it would be valuable information as well.
Overseas I don't know what to tell you, but if there's anyone listening in on this thread from the states perhaps they can try this and let everyone know.

  • Nokia N800 - USB Connectivity Issues

I was just getting ready to purchase about 3000 770's when I found out the N800 was being released. So I bought a few test models. I am having some issues with the new model that I've not heard addressed on any forums yet:
    1. USB connection to the PC is a little bit "picky". After several failed attempts to connect to my Windows XP machine ("Error connecting USB device" ), I finally figured it out: The 800 has to be powered OFF before it's plugged in. This was not the case for the 770.
    2. Despite all attempts, I've failed to connect the N800 to a Mac. This is the first device I've ever had problems getting a Mac to talk to.
    And finally, a complete mystery:
    3. Why, on a device touting its open source qualities, is the software updater written exclusively for dot Net architecture? I wonder if anyone else has found the fact that a Linux-based device can not be updated by a Linux-based computer a bit ironic?Message Edited by sealswcc on 22-Jan-2007

After upgrading from an older version of OS2008 to the latest
version, I lost the ability to connect my N800 to my Linux
box as a USB device. Before, it would show up as a USB
device, and I could access the card. Now it doesn't.
I have it plugged in when I connect the cable, and when
I start it, it boots as though the cable is not connected,
and it does not appear as a device. This is rather odd!
    Has anybody else experienced this?

  • Is there any way to retrieve notes from a broken iphone via usb connection?

I have an old broken iphone 3g and I want to retrieve the notes from my old phone; however, there is absolutely no way I can turn the phone on and manually email the notes to myself.  Is there any way I can retrieve the notes from a file transfer system once synching up the iphone to my computer?  If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks

If the phone doesn't power on and isn't seen by the computer then you wouldn't be able to pull data off it with the USB connection to your computer.
You could pursue data recovery if the notes are very valuable, but the cost can be similar to having data recovered from a failed computer drive(possibly prohibitively expensive).

  • MacBook Pro doesn't recognize iPhone when USB connected

I have a MacBook Pro, an iPod, and an iPhone.  Using the same usb port and cable I have the following situation.  The MacBook Pro recognizes both other devises in iTunes through the internet.  The MacBook Pro does not recognize the iPhone 5 when connected by cable but does recognize the iPod.  Because of this I can't transfer photos from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro.  When connected the iPod shows it is charging but the iPhone 5 does not.  Using the same cable connected to the wall charger both devices show they are charging.  Does anyone have a suggestion?  Thank you.

  • USB Connection Issues

Have the 8330 Curve and the Blackberry Desktop application.  It has allowed me to install apps such as opera mini, a stock portfilio app, and can import my calendar items.  I now see 'connecting' in the lower right corner.  Do not see anything on the desktop app that I see as abberant.  What would I need to check on the device to troubleshoot?

    Hi PhilPense,
To troubleshoot any connectivity issues with the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, please have a look at the following KB article. Identifying and troubleshooting issues with the BlackBerry Desktop Software detecting a USB connected BlackBerry smartphone. www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB00125

  • Mac mail connection issues

Mac Mail has serious connection issues. It's a pain in the *** to try to configure it , and then once you think you have it, it fails. I've banged my head on it for a week and then went to try Postbox and Airmail who both connect and work smoothly. I would suggest you adopt their model of connecting .

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • E-72 OVI Suite-USB Connection Issue

    Model: E-72
    OS: 031.023
    OVI Suite Version: 2.2.1.23
Laptop OS: Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit
Problem: When connecting the phone via USB, OVI Suite suggests that the phone is not in PC Suite mode where as I've selected PC Suite mode when it prompts also by going to
Ctrl Pnl>Connect>USB. But no luck, restarted Laptop multiple times, also the phone.
OVI works fine with Blutooth for all sync etc but I need USB connection working to upgrade mobile software.
Other Observations: When phone is connected via USB Windows 7 detects it as S60 device with options of manage media, browse files, import picture, not sure if this is related. Also the device shows error and requires troubleshooting in modem mode because of bluetooth peripheral device is not installed due to not being able to find appropriate driver.
This is a new phone and new OS, using for first time with USB cable, it never worked, no changes made that could be trigger for this issue, any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hi gmudgal83
I am not sure whether this will solve your problrm but you could try this once.
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and PC/Ovi suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

  • PRS950 USB Connectivity issues

Very inconsistent USB connectivity - it connected to the Library software, once, and synced properly from a USB port directly on the computer. The next time, from the same port, it can't be seen in the Library software - at all. Mostly, the reader says it's connected and charging battery - but will not show up in the Library software.
Now the computer (Windows 7, SP1) wants to reformat the drive before it can be used? I'm tempted!!!
    Help - please...!
    Thanks,

Are you having the same issue on all USB ports? Try uninstalling and reinstalling the USB Root Hubs in Device Manager. Have you tried connecting the Reader to another computer? It needs to be established whether the issue is related to the computer or the Reader itself. If you have reset the Reader, uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the issue still persists I would recommend that you contact Sony product support for more extensive troubleshooting of the issue:

  • Asha 501 - USB connectivity issues

In Asha 501 after selecting Mass storage option the "removable drive" icon has stopped appearing on Win 7 Ultimate.
Earlier after installing connectivity cable drivers it used to catch instantly and the USB connectivity was working flawlessly allowing me to transfer files.
Today, the "Mass Storage" option is showing up but on PC the "removable drive" icon is not appearing at all.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.. ty
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    It's working now
After uninstalling and making a fresh installation of the drivers from Nokia and couple of restarts, it has started to work as normal and now the "disk drive" always shows up under the list of "Devices with removable storage"
I haven't found the cause to why it wasn't working previously but to my knowledge USB port may be the issue in recognising the USB cable when connected. Few restarts is the key.
