Iphone many issues.. Over priced faulty crap? I think so

i got a new iphone for the firet time a month ago . and the power button got stuck .today it just didnt work at all i plugged it in expecting it to show its charging and notning! keep in mind its in perfect condition other than the faulty button and non responsive to anything. so i think my first is my last unless apple can show me that im not paying lots of money for garbage! and god how i love apple -.-

If the iPhone is faulty, Apple will replace it. Just talk to them. If you have an Apple Store in your area, make an appointment with them and they'll replace it on the spot. That will be a better use of your time than ranting here where only we your fellow users will see your complaint.

    I would be upset if my phone was having multiple issues but would not want to lose you over this experience. Nokia Lumia are typically good phones and it saddens me to see you are having so many issues with the phone.  How often are you having the issues with the device not responding? What activities are occurring on the phone when it stops responding? Have you always had pairing issues? What are you pairing your phone to?

  • Contacts Created on iPhone not syncing over to Address Book on laptop.

    Contacts created in Address Book on laptop do sync over to iPhone - no problem - but not the other way around. I must retype contacts daily created in the field to laptop. Apple specialist unable to find the problem. Passed on to engineering, end of January. Haven't heard a word.
    It worked fine until I updated 1.1.3. I had many issues after that update and am really leary of 1.1.4 after reading threads here. Have not updated.
    Also drives me crazy having to spin that stupid wheel to find contacts. Come on do designers actually use this thing?

    I tried erasing all the phone data as you suggested, but to no effect whatsoever (apart from having to setup my email/wifi etc. all over again).
    There's definitely something strange going on with the iPhone -> Mac connection. iPhoto shows the iPhone as being connected, even when it's not, and is still showing 23 pictures, which is what was on the phone before I reset it (they are now gone from the phone). iPhoto also calls it 'Apple iPhone', while I've changed the name to something else.
    Calendar syncing is still functioning flawlessly, but contacts created on the phone are still not being transferred.
    What's more, the contacts I added to the iPhone before I reset all the data were still on the phone afterwards.

    Purchases using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID. Purchases are forever tied to that Apple ID used. You have to decide which Apple you want to use for purchases and stick to that Apple ID so that you can share: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID : > use the same Apple ID here to share purchases.

    I purchased the incredible 2 in may 2011 , since then I am now on my fourth phone. I have had to return each one for so many issues and find it hard to believe when tech support tells me its the first time they hear of a problem. I have spoken with at least 30 different tech support staff over these few months as well as HTC directly and to date NO resolve. Here are some of the issues I have encountered.
    3 G always remains at 1G if it does show 3 G and I attempt open even the market it drops back to 1G. There are times when the market takes more than ten minutes to load.
    Next is the battery life, after a full charge the battery reduces to 15% in about an hour to an hour an a half.
    My settings such as sound, or mobile network arbitrarely alter themselves. The ringtones change, the applications settings change and also the ability to download applications change not allowing the phone to download apps. I have to manually go and change all the settings over and over again.
    My phones no longer allow me to use HTC clock widgets, either I get a force close , unupdated weather and none of the alarm clocks, timer, world clock etc..are accessible. HTC even asked that I video tape the widget issues and send it to thier escalation department, which I did. According to HTC they cannot duplicate the problem, but are fully aware of the issue. Verizon on the other hand claims to know nothing.
    The HTC s get more widgets always tells me unable to load or unavailable. Clearly this us an issue with HTC product and more than a month has passed and no reseloution in sight.
    I received my 4th incredible 2 in the mail today and immedietly called Verizon to say I am not accepting this and I now want another phone by anyone other than HTC.
    Clearly people are posting these issues and many more but sadly none if them seem to be being addressed. It is my hope that my next phone coming tomorrow will work. So much for that so called most reliable service. Just a side note as I typed this my keyboard now seems to disappear and or will not allow me to back space.
    My hope is those who have all these issues bombarded HTC and their carrier so the products sold are functional and we get what we pay for.

    This is a network issue not a device issue, how strong is your network connection? How many bars do your device have?

    All 4G devices has quick battery drain issue because of the power the radio requires to recieve reception.  You could have learned of this from a number of forums because it is widely reported, usually a extended battery resolves this.
    My settings such as sound, or mobile network arbitrarely alter themselves. The ringtones change, the applications settings change and also the ability to download applications change not allowing the phone to download apps. I have to manually go and change all the settings over and over again.
    If you are using device as Mass Storage and use custom ringers this is a normal situation because the phone can not access the ringer file that is stored on sd card when it is in Mass Storage mode, usually a restart resolves this.   Now as for the network connection I would need more info to understand what you mean.

    Weather updating error sounds like a network issue again but as for the Force Close have you tried checking installed apps are not causing this issue because I have seen this regularly..

     Sounds like you are having reception issues in my opinion and no matter what device you recieve will resolve this and also you may want to try running device without installing ant 3rd party apps and see what happens because the issies you are having isnt a device issue.

  • ITunes 9/iPod OS 3.1.1 combo has too many issues/bugs

    After upgrading to iTunes 9 and Touch to 3.1.1 I am having too many issues:
    iPOD TOUCH:
    1. Everytime I launch music, it displays "upgrading library" message and takes eons (5 minutes) to show the library
    2. Playlists don't work: most playlists show tracks in random order not matching iTunes, and also with total number of tracks different from iTunes. This had rendered most playlist as useless. Wondering when Apple will fix it.
    iTUNES:
    1. Much hyped arranging of applications through iTunes doesn't work. I took whole lot of time arranging the applications in iTunes virtual desktop, but after syncing I found entire arrangement lost both in iTunes and in Touch. I did it many times, but with the same unwanted result.
    Any help?

    That's what i used to tell people. but I up(down)graded to version 9 itunes, and version 3.1.1 for the ipod touch and now i can't restore the ipod because itunes can't connect to the software update server. why do i want to restore the ipod touch? mostly because every extra app added refuses to work! nothing launches. even apple's own remote app can't push through this mess the updates have created.
    I'm on a mac. 10.5.8 everything used to work just fine before these updates. What hurts even more is that i actually had to pay for the touch 3.1.1 update as well, and now i've got a non-functioning ipod. cheers apple. How about they release an update to reverse the wonderful job this latest version has performed... Or at least a single company communication as to what is wrong, and how to fix it, rather than a dozen different suggestions in forums and non-existent support documentation!
    rant now over. please just fix it apple.

  • Why so many issues with apple products?

        Since Apple makes their own hardware and software why are there so many issues?  I recently bought a iMac and a iPhone 4 and have had lots of issues just like many of you on the forums. I understand why windows has comptability problems cause they have to make their operating system work for all different computer manufacturers and configurations. But apple does not so what's the deal?

    You will probably find that 90% of errors/problems on Macs are caused by 'user error', like introducing incompatible hacks and add-ons.
    Moreover, a forum like this is an 'emergency room'. The millions of users who do not have (or may not realise that they have!) problems don't post here.
    If you have any problems we would all like to help you iron them out. Just post a question in the specific forum for your model of Mac or version of OS X.

    I don't think that a software update from Apple will solve the issues that you are having. You have a rogue installation. After you posted I have just done the following:
    Disk Utility can verify  my partitioned Volume (including my boot disk) AND REPAIR the non-boot disks on the same Volume without a glitch. It repairs the non-boot disks containing data smoothly.
    I have used Mail to send some mails from some Yahoo and Hotmail accounts to my Thunderbird client containing GMail accounts - absolutely normal.
    I have iLife '09 but my iMovie '09 and iPhoto '09 open in a jiffy and I see no issues here. I have 6GB RAM (Maximum) on an early 2008 Macbook Pro with a 750GB hard drive partitioned with 120GB reserved for the Boot Drive.
    I am sorry that I cannot help further but I am sure there must be a way to reinstall the software without having to revert to restoring your ML backup. I have two clones and if you have such I would attempt to do that through that rather than through Time Machine - that is of course if you have a cloned drive.

    It sounds like you are not able to join your Wi-Fi network with the correct password on 1 out of many devices. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

    Restart your iOS device.
    Update your device to the latest version of software.
    Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
    If that troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, I would next try these steps from further down the article:
    Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
    Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
    Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
    Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
    previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings.

    You can try to repair your library. Once you are sure the files are all taken care of, you can sync the phone to remove all of the music and then sync again to add it back. That should take care of the issue.

    I've found about a billion posts bashing the iPhone 3G, but most of the content and articles are rather outdated. So, it's December 1st and I'm considering getting an iPhone later this month. The 2.1 came out a while back, and 2.2 has now been out for a while...
    -Has there been any improvements with the 3G service?
    -Has there been any improvements with the battery life and how many hours do you typically get out of 1 charge?
    -Does it still have issues with dropping calls / txt messages?
    -Are people still replacing SIM cards as a potential fix for issues or will a new SIM card that comes with it be no different than a replacement card?
    I'd like to hear experiences good and bad, and if you're in the East Bay (Northern CA), tell me how the coverage has been for you, or even the Bay Area in general. I'm hoping to hear people who have purchased iPhones in the last month or so have had a better experience, but from what I've read so far I'm not sure if that's the case.

    good luck... it's a "depends" kinda answer you'll receive from the masses. Personally, I went from R2.0 in July to R2.0.2 before experiencing any issues at all with my 3G iPhone... wondering why there were people out there with so many issues. I've since learned the past two upgrades. Simple answer... I'd wait!! Especially if you're not hooked yet by having used someone else's. I feel AT&T connectivity is poor right now trying to get a robust enough 3G network up and running to handle the volume of user's and "forget" their claim to having more "bar's". I live in a dark orange and blue coverage area and reception is inconsistent. If you want to read my specifics, read on....
    My issues have been:
    1. GPS accuracy... corrected in R2.1
    2. Dropped call's from "day 1" more dropped call's on AT&T the first three days in my local area than I have 7-yr's traveling nationwide on business with Verizon (I believe AT&T holds 80% responsibility for this). Just had two today in a dark orange coverage area in my home
    3. 3G is intermittent to say the least. I live 3-miles from the closest 3g tower and my svc will vary from No Svc to 5-bars (note: 3G connectivity depends on the number of users on a tower at the same time; therefore, you will watch your connectivity/signal strength vacillate in a matter or seconds or minutes with no consistency) When in strong 3G area's the iPhone will sing...
    4. about a month ago they started having FETCH issues on the iPhone where it would not accurately go out and pull emails in from your ISP... my experience was up to 45-60 min after a FETCH setting of 15-min. and "audible" notifications of emails arriving wasn't happening and my volumes are always at max setting. This was seemingly resolved with R2.2 10-days ago and just today it started acting up to where I am no longer receiving audible alerts to emails coming... and FETCH seems to work only 75% of the time. Good news is that when it does act up, the emails seem to arrive earlier than the set FETCH intervals.
    Biggest issues I have is lack of any real consistency of the above... I went to Verizon this past weekend to play with the new "Storm" and was really disappointed with its poor intuitiveness and poor ease of navigation. It may have great features and may work 100% of the time, but if I have to waste time navigating my way around it, I might as well keep my iPhone. I really do like my iPhone when it works, but the only way I would abandon it now is if I could exit my contract without penalties to AT&T and even then I know I would miss it. It reminds me of the early days and headaches of cable TV with all its glitches... If your not on AT&T and can hold off a little longer on the iPhone, I can almost guarantee with all the missing features requiring hardware changes and required bug fixes that APPLE will have to release a new generation iPhone... I even heard rumor that there is an iPhone in the works that has a slide keyboard coming out... not that I would be interested in that feature, adding bulk to it. but point being APPLE will cannibalize this current generation iPhone for another in the next 10-months.

    That is a new "feature" described in Connect your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch using Continuity
    You can turn it off by going to Settings > FaceTime and changing "iPhone Cellular Calls" to off

    Correct.  it does not magially appear in other places.  It will only be where you put it.

    Correct as well.  Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.
    You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.
