IPhone mms issue

Please try this:
Turn on iMessage
Turn on mms
Turn off send as SMS if imessage fails
Go to camera roll, select picture, then the share button and pick message
Send to a non ios person
Does your message automatically fail as the phone automatically tries to send as iMessage?

Last night was the first time I had attempted to send a picture via MMS on my new Iphone4. I took a picture with the phone and attempted to send it but kept getting a red exclamation point indicating failure. It would load to about 98% and then fail. I tried rebooting etc but nothing helped. This morning I did two things and finally got it to successfully send a picture.
1. I turned on location services for the camera
2. I cleared all history/cookies/cache (setting>safari>clear history/cookies/cache
I took a new picture with the iphone4 and sent it successfully. I turned off the location services for the camera and tried to send a previously failed picture and again it failed. I turned the location services back on for the camera and the previously failed picture went through successfully.
Either there is an intermittent problem causing the issue or the location services has to be "ON" for camera in order to send a picture via MMS. Give it a try and see what happens.

  • Nokia Lumia 928 MMS issues on unlocked device

I'm a Finnish guy and using Elisa as a carrier.
I got the chance to purchase unlocked Lumia 928 with a decent price so I checked its specifications (GSM Arena site) and also found out it could be used internationally.
It seemed to be a brilliant phone (and it sure is) so I purchased it.
But now I'm facing the problem with the MMS messages. All settings are just OK and I can send MMS messages successfully but I cannot receive them. The phone announces that "you've received a message which has media content" but when I try to open the media content, nothing happens.
This seems to be quite common problem (at least when I'm reading those most popular Windows Phone discussion forums) but I haven't found a solution to it. Someone has just said that because the phone is made for a particular carrier, it has "specialities" in its firmware. Well, the phone uses same MMS settings for sending and receiving MMS messages so how come MMS messages won't get thru to my phone correctly? I'd also like to know how the MMS firmware settiing are different between Lumia 925 and 928???
And most of all I'd like to get a remedy/solution to fix the problem from Nokia/Microsoft people Thanks a lot in advance!

Well, I suppose that even though Verizon has ordered these phones from Nokia, all the settings, applications and characteristics were preloaded to the phone at the factory. So in other words Verizon would've delivered preconfigured things to Nokia before the manufacturing process and would not start to fiddling around (=to install all the setting, apps and characteristics) when they received the phones from Nokia.
Therefore someone in Nokia/Microsoft must know the differencies between the stock firmware and the Verizon firmware, especially if we're now talking about these MMS issues. And I wanna know it. If I'd ask the same question from Verizon, they probably would not know the difference between those aforementioned firmware.
It's not rocket science, I guess it's just because of those preloaded/-configured differencies between the stock and the Verizon firmwares...

  • Crossing my fingers..found a solution to MMS issue on the LG G2

So, I've been pouring over forum posts here and elsewhere discovering that this MMS sending/receiving issue I've been having is not "just me" and seems to be an android/google issue with no future fix until at the earliest Sept.  I was all set to go to my local store and trade it in for a different phone.  The service guy there just happened to have the LG G2 as his own personal phone and was confused about this "issue" I was having.  He said he's had this phone since earlier in the year and never had an issue.  Even since the Kit-Kat update.  The biggest difference between how he uses his phone and how I was using mine is that he's always used Hangouts instead of the stock messaging app.  Since I read on here that a few others have had success with Hangouts...I figured I'd do a factory reset and start with Hangouts and see if that doesn't work.  Just thought I'd suggest this to others to try as a solution.  We'll see if it doesn't revert to messing up again in a couple days.

The issue with the LG G2 not receiving MMS is the same across the board for a lot of G2 owners.  The issue isn't any different. Some have found fixes or work-arounds, but no one has found a solution.  This goes back to a message I posted earlier in the forum community about VZW customer support not having good communication or a support page that provides them with issues.  Too many times I have read a reply by VZW support that asks what is going on, or provides a statement that says we want your device working correctly.  It appears to those who look to this forum for answers or suggestions, that VZW doesn't take note of this MMS issue for G2s.  The issue is that at some point, we lose the ability to send/receive picture messages through the native messaging app.  While no one has pinpointed an exact cause, the Tech Coaches have indicated there is a "known device issue" and that an software update is in the works.  Yet, I haven't seen any replies from VZW community customer support mention this to those writing in.  The lack of information that flows from customer support is troubling.  Nothing in this world is perfect.  While we all want our devices to work correctly, it is more about letting us know that you are aware of an issue and that you are attempting a fix for it.  Too many have no idea that there is a compatibility problem with the device.

  • Camera issue,MMS issue continues

Is anyone having issue with camera popping on when phone is touched? Multiple times when I pick up phone I will notice it start snapping pictures when I left it locked. Camera app isnt even on first screen. The MMS issue of sending double texts out is still occuring as well. Last month BB working on issue, but its no better!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Good luck!

iPhone WiFi issue. I enter a password, click join, and get a message back that it is an incorrect password. I have several computers and other iPhones connected using the same password. Any ideas?

    Hey there Gordo456,
It sounds like you are not able to join your Wi-Fi network with the correct password on 1 out of many devices. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If that troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, I would next try these steps from further down the article:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • IPhone Sync issue (and album art messed up)

Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes, instead of just updating the media I have changed, it will randomly add anywhere between 30 to 300 songs that were already on my iPhone. It doesn't cause any problems with using the iPhone other then the fact that it takes a really long time to sync even when I don't change anything or add new media to sync with the iPhone.
    So far I have:
-made sure I have the latest updates of iTunes and all software
    -re-set iSync
    -done an archive and install
-had a genius appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and
    -they replaced my iPhone
...but my problems still exist. And on top of that, all of the album artwork on the iPhone is jumbled up. It looks fine in cover flow, but when I switch to the normal mode it will be the wrong artwork with the wrong song. My album artwork in itunes is not jumbled up, but all of the artwork for the movies and tv shows I have bought and downloaded from the iTunes Store has disappeared and I can't get it back by searching for album artwork.
So, to recap, my 3 main problems are.
    1) iPhone Sync issue
    2) Album artwork jumbled up on iPhone
    3) TV Show and Movie artwork disappearing on iTunes
If anyone can help your time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

  • Intel and IPhone Sync issues

Some forwarded this to me. It might be relevant to some users here.

    News Category: iPhone
Intel has issued a comment concerning the iPhone sync issues some users are experiencing with certain PCs containing a specific Intel chipset. “Our leading theory is a BIOS or system configuration issue, but we are still investigating,” Intel said. The basic input/output system (BIOS) is the boot firmware run by a PC on startup, which identifies, tests, and initializes core system devices such as the graphics card, hard disk, and other hardware. As we reported earlier this week, the syncing issue appears to linked to Intel’s P55 Express chipset and its USB controller, which leaves the afflicted machines able to recognize the iPhone but unable to sync. The problem has been most prevalent among PCs running 64-bit Windows 7, but the issue has also been reported on machines running both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both Windows 7 and Vista."

    Hi R@chel,
It sounds as if you are having difficulty making sure your iPhone only gets the music you want. In order to do this, you need to manually manage the data that gets synced to your iPhone. This article explains how to do so -

    Specifically -
    Syncing manually
If you prefer not to automatically sync content to your device, you can set up manual syncing:
Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
Click the Devices button in the upper-right corner. (If you're viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner. The Devices button will appear.)
In the main iTunes browser window, select the Summary tab.
Select the option to Manually manage music and videos or Manually manage music. This will deselect the automatic sync settings for the Music, Movies, and TV Shows tabs.
    Click Apply.
    And -
After following the steps above, you can add individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your device. To add content to your device:
    Select your device.
    Click On this Device.
Choose Add to in the upper-right corner. If you drag a song, video, TV show, or movie while viewing the media in your iTunes library, a sidebar will show up on the right. You can drag your content onto the device. You can also create and modify playlists directly on the device.

  • Failure sending Iphone MMS internationally

I have the Iphone 3G 3.1. I have yet to been able to send MMS messages overseas from the US. (More specifically to the Philippines) I have been on the phone with AT&T and Apple technical support. So far; no luck. I can send and receive MMS fine here in the US. Oddly enough, I can receive MMS from my friends in the Philippines. Again, for some reason, my MMS do not make it through to them even though it shows as being sent from my phone.
Prior to my Iphone, I had the LG Shine through AT&T and I had no problems sending or receiving MMS stateside or overseas.
Is anyone else out there having this problem or even tried to send an MMS internationally? I am attaching a blog from another Iphone user that is apparently having problems trying to send his MMS to the UK.
    http://appmodo.com/5057/international-iphone-mms-fail/
Is Apple or AT&T blocking outgoing MMS to overseas phones? Is Iphone MMS messaging restricted to only stateside? Can anyone help?

    According to this: http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/messaging-internet/messaging/international.jsp
it should work. I don't know why they aren't going through. Sorry I can't offer more help. I would continue working with AT&T customer service until you get a resolution.

  • Known MMS issue with iPhone 4?

I recently upgraded my wife's phone from the original iPhone to the iPhone 4, however she cannot send MMS. Text messages work fine. I called AT&T and after about 40 minutes on the phone with them they didn't have an answer, they stated they reset the carrier settings and had me reset network and all settings. I restored the phone as new, and still nothing worked. The lovely folks at AT&T did give us a follow up call back on 12/27/10 stating the this is a known issue on Apple's end with people who have upgraded to iPhone 4 ios 4.2.1.
So, do you know about this? Any suggestions?
MMS is on, Data is on...

    Hello,
I am in the same boat. On phone with AT&T for over an hour, transferred to tech. support. Mms on, reset settings, 3G and cellular on. I also upgraded from original iPhone to iPhone 4. Finally tech told me that it's because it shows I still have the original iPhone and that someone has to manually go in and change the setting. She couldn't do it, her supervisor did not have access. She said that ticket was issued and it can take up to 32 hours, it's been close to 48 hours and nada. She is suppose to call me back today. The only thing I did not try is to set up phone as new. The rep said that it's on AT&T's end.
Please let me know if you get your wife's fixed.

  • MMS issue with iPhone 4?

So luckily I have not had any of the issues that a lot of people seem to be having and I'm loving my new phone, but something happened last night and I'm not sure if it's an apple issue or an AT&T issue.
I took a picture and tried to send it via MMS to two friends of mine (that I MMS quite frequently).  Both of them received the following error message:
"One or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal."
I tried to resending several times but they keep getting that message.  One of them has an iPhone 3G and one a Blackberry of some sort.
Any ideas what may be going on?

Either there is an intermittent problem causing the issue or the location services has to be "ON" for camera in order to send a picture via MMS. Give it a try and see what happens.

  • MMS Issues on iPhone 4 Verizon

A couple of very strange things going on with the new iPhone 4 I just actived today on Verizon.  Before setting up, I installed iOS 5.  Here we go:
    - Videos when delivered show up in the thread.  When I click on them to view them in the larger window I get the message "The requested url was not found on this server."  Which is bizarre since the video should be already on the device, so why is the phone looking for a url?
    - Image delivery is sporadic.  When they do show up in the text message thread and I click on the image as a bubble to show it larger in the next screen, the image shows as totally black.  So when I scroll through my images it's just a bunch of black pictures.
Size of files is not an issue.  WiFi is off.  Have gone through other settings with Verizon folks, they say it's all set up correctly.
Any ideas?  Seems like it might be an issue with the phone rather than the network.
    Thanks.

Hi. I have the same issue. Did you get an answer from anyone? Were you able to resolve the problem? Thanks.

  • MMS issues

    Hi,
I just got my iphone 4s a week ago, had my number ported from tmobile. Ive been having issues with sending pictures over via regular text messages. Sometimes it just wont send the picture, it takes so long that it finally gives the message that it failed to send (even with at least 2-3 bars, mms turned on in settings, *228 option 2 completed). Other times it will send, but it takes more than 3 minutes to send and starts to chew up the battery. I've restarted my phone, reset my network settings yet nothing seems to work. This doesn't happen on iMessage though, just over regular MMS. Does anyone else have this issue with their 4s? Anyone know of other options that worked for them to try to fix this issue?
    Thanks

    Hello niravac,
Thanks for your response kaebfly. Niravac I can relate to your concerns regarding sending  picture messages. Are you still having this issue? Are you unable to receive picture messages? Can you send and receive text messages? Is this happening with all your contacts or certain contacts? Please answer these questions so I can resolve this issue for you.

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4, I can only send MMS messages to people on iMessage. I am paying for unlimited. Everytime I try it pops up "Not Delivered" and I do not understand why. From what i have seen, I'm not the only one with this issue. I am very frustrated and am not finding a solution. I read you can use a T-Mobile SIM Card or something.. but I do not feel comfortable wit that. I don't want to jailbreak because I did that and hated it so un-did it and upgraded to iOS6 and can no longer sned pics to friends/family without iMessage and it's ridiculous.
