IPhone motherboard blew up, is user data still accessible?

Motherboard on my iPhone 4 blew up due to a faulty charger, thought of selling it on eBay for spares but if the new buyer can repair it will my information still be on the phone? I'm assuming not but just as a precaution

So, my question is, if you wipe your iPhone by resetting it factory settings, could someone still access the "old" data that was on the phone before it was wiped and that hasn't overwritten by new data?
It's theoretically possible that, with enough time, enough money and good enough forensic software, someone might be able to restore some of the data. Do you think that it is likely that someone would be willing to do that to get your data?

  • SUS user data not replicated to SRM

In service SRMSUS in the SUS system, we have user w/ role  SAP_EC_SUS_ADMIN_VENDOR.
When this user modifies his own user data such as name/email/time zone, the change in user data is NOT replicated to the SRM system. The SRM user data still contains the original user information.
I believe user data update is done via a RFC call, and not XI. I've checked for security auth object and there are no authorization issues.
Are there any additional configs we're missing?
    We're on SRM 4.0 / SAPKIBKS10 / SAPKB64019
I've already checked all the OSS Notes including, but they don't help, or pertain to my situation:
Note 893714 - SUS30: Replication of bidding users from SUS to EBP
Note 919070 - SUS-UM: User settings are not stored correctly

    Hi,
you need to maintain the system details where the changed data needs to be replicated at the following customizing in SUS
    1) Transaction SPRO --->
    2) Path ---> Supplier Relationship Management ---> Supplier Self Services --->
Master Data --->Maintain Systems For Synchronization of User Data
( check help available with the customizing for more details ).
    3) Maintain New Entry for the external systems ---> this should be your SRM system and then use the following data .
    F. Mod.: Create User BAPI_USER_CREATE
    F. Mod.: Change User BAPI_USER_CHANGE
    F. Mod.: Delete User BAPI_USER_DELETE
    4) save data
    5) once you hav done this , when you make changes , data will be synchrozed with SRM

  • User data permanently saved on iPhone. Even after FULL 2 HOUR WIPE

Just got my 3G S and I restored my old iPhone 3G prior to selling it. After that I found that all my user data was saved on the phone. When I downloaded Pandora and opened it, my account info was saved and I auto-logged in.
I researched and found the FULL ERASE option inside the iPhone settings. So I performed the full erase, which takes about 2 hours. Then it restored again.
After that, I went into settings --> App store. My old account email was still there!! I changed it to a new email address and logged in. Then I downloaded Pandora again. SAME PROBLEM! AUTO-LOG IN!
So app store and pandora both had my old user info saved.
To say that I am frustrated, upset, and ready to die, is a gross understatement. My iTunes randomly lost it's entire music library as well. (All 13,000 + songs were missing and could not be found, yet the files are perfectly fine.)
This is never ending. How do I just wipe my phone?? Please help ;-(
    Crying,
    -Carlos-

Visited the Apple store today and they replaced the phone. They could not explain what was going on except for being a software issue.
They said if after restoring I have the same issue, you would have to restore the phone to new and re-install all apps and information manually from scratch.
I restored the phone from my backup, and all went well. No more slow LTE speeds, plus a new device.
The only thing I can think of that may have happened is updating carrier settings while updating the iOS at the same time. I thought it was normal because iTunes popped up the carrier update notification a few seconds later after starting the iOS 8 update.
The carrier update did have an option to cancel. I will definitely wait for the iOS update to complete before I update carrier settings next time.
I'm just wondering if my phone was out of warranty, and this happened, would Apple still replace the device?

  • How to delete user data from damaged iPhone?

    Hi,
I have a damaged iPhone 3GS that I'm selling for parts on ebay. The device's is currently stuck on "update mode", basically I was updating to iOS 6.1 a while back and in the middle of the process, the phone returned an "hardware error" message and now it's allways stuck on the "connect to itunes" screen.
No matter what resets I try to do or restores, it wll allways return the "hardware error" message and then to the apple screen and finally to the "connect to itunes" screen.
So, I decided to sell it for parts since I've bought another (newer) iPhone, but I wanted to make sure that all my user data (accounts, text messages, phone numbers, etc.) was deleted just in case the lucky buyer manages to get it fixed. How can I do this?
Will the "clear phone data"option on iCloud do the trick, or do I need to do something more?
I also know that have to remove the iPhone from my iCloud account, is this correct?
What are procedures can you guys recomend for this?
    Thanks

I have a "new" piece of information about this issue that might help clarify the problem a bit.
I plugged it in today to do a final check on it's maladies and this is what happened:
    1.Device starts charging
2.Device show the "connect to iTunes" screen (the one with the USB and itunes icon)
    3.I connect it to iTunes
4.iTunes says something like: "This iPhone's software is damaged. A factory reset is required to restore the OS. Your device will be reset to factory settings and all your data will be deleted. After the reset is completed, you will have the possibility to restore your information on the device"
    5. I click "Restore iPhone"
    6. It starts checking for software, extracting software, etc.
7.I get the apple screen with the loading bar
    8. On iTunes the process stops on the "restoring firmware" step. It gets stuck there for a couple of hours and then eventualy it returns an hardware error
    9. The loading bar on the apple screen gets full, but the iPhone never manages to leave "restore iPhone" mode.
From all the iTunes messages and procedures that I'm doing, I take it that the iPhone's memory is in fact already wiped clean, am I assuming it right? That's why he won't boot and is stuck on recovery mode?
Can I also assume that any data I had there cannot be recovered unless I restored it from my laptop/iCloud?
And finally and just out of morbid curiosity, anyone has an idea about what is wrong with the iPhone? I never managed to figure out what happened or if it's something "fixable".
    Thanks for the help!

  • IPhone Apps - Where Is User Data Stored?

Where is the user data associated with an iPhone app stored? Is it stored within the app's .ipa file? For example, I use Weightbot. Is all of my personal data stored within the Weightbot.ipa file, or is it stored elsewhere?

The reason why I bring this question up is, I've somehow lost 1GB of storage from my iPhone 3GS!
I've added up the data size of all the apps on my iPhone. I've got 61 apps in total, which take up 1947.38 GB of storage. However, the Capacity bar in iTunes is telling me that my 61 Apps are taking up 3.10 GB!
So, somehow I've lost over 1GB of storage on my iPhone. How can that be?

  • My icloud account on my new iphone does not match the user ID for itunes as it is an old apple ID. There is no password for this ID so I cant change it and it wont let me change the apple ID. Any help?

my icloud account on my new iphone does not match the user ID for itunes as it is an old apple ID. There is no password for this ID so I cant change it and it wont let me change the apple ID. Any help?

To change to iCloud ID on your phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID then sign in with the new ID.  If you don't know the password for the old ID, and if the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • Apple Configurator - Updating to iOS 6.1.2 removed saved user data

We are currently managing several classroom sets of iPads using Apple Configurator. When updating to iOS 6.1.2 on the Supervise tab, about two-thirds of one classroom (about 20 iPads) and another 4 out of 6 in a special education classroom lost all previously saved data (application data, documents, pictures, etc.) during the update. We have another classroom that updated approximately 30 iPads following the same exact steps using the same configurator computer and none were erased so we're having a hard time figuring out the issue.
When I was watching the configurator run through the status updates during the iOS update (e.g. downloading iOS, decompressing iOS, installing iOS) there was another step on the iPads that lost data which was "supervising device." All of the iPads were already supervised so I don't know why this step occurred or what caused it to happen. With the grouping of 6 iPads, the 4 that were erased immediately started decompressing and installing iOS while the 2 that saved user data went to the downloading iOS stage first. I wasn't monitoring the grouping of 30 as closely, but I did notice the "supervising device" stage on the iPads that lost all user data.

I think for the teachers you are going to have to tell them to copy their data off the device.
Suggest dropbox or other cloud storage.  Could set up a WebDave server.
A simple and popular way to copy files.
    http://wiki.dropbox.com
Could set up sync-ing so they would come back in he fall.  I'd be cautios and do everythig simple.
For syncing pc or mac folders to iPad applications.
"Using SugarSync, you simply designate folders that you want to “sync” to the cloud and it keeps everything in sync anytime you make changes.  This is the way cloud storage should be done and especially if you are using your iPad for buisness or for school."
The only potential downside is that so many apps for the iPhone/iPad come with Dropbox sync built in which makes it extremely convenient.

Wow, you didn't make a backup of your files first?
You shoudl have come here first for help before doing that.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16276201#16276201
All I can say is make sure you have the same account name on the computer like before, even if you have to create a new user under System Preferences>accounts, then log into your itunes account with that and try to reverse sync from the iPhone like you would normally.
Apple doesn't expect one to go backwards, so they are not all that friendly, you may have to ask around on MacRumors for third party software that can reverse sync from iOS devices.
    Good luck

  • Urgen: SRM and BW user data Synchronization problem

    Dear Buddies:
I'm a BWer in a SRM project. These days I meet a very strange problem in the user data Synchronization configuration between SUS and BW system.
    The symptom is:
I config the user data Synchronization parameters in SUS system:
SAP Reference IMG u2192 Supplier Relationship Management u2192 Supplier Self-Services u2192 Master Data u2192 Maintain Systems for Synchronization of User Data
Here I've maintained the BW logical system and filled the 'FM BPID' field with 'RS_BW_BCT_SRM_SUS_USER_BPID', and filled the 'Function Module for creating user' field with 'BAPI_USER_CREATE'.
The function of the config above is that:
When a new user is created in the SAP SUS system, it will automatically be created in SAP BW, too.
At the same time, an internal table (SRM_USER_SUPBPID) is filled automatically. The table contains the assignment between the automatically created SAP BW user and the corresponding Business Partner ID of the supplier company.
Then I test the user creation in SUS on web. I found that when the SUS user created , the same user is created automatically in BW system. That means the 'BAPI_USER_CREATE' is work.
But the content of the user-BPID mapping table 'SRM_USER_SUPBPID' is still empty. That means the  FM 'RS_BW_BCT_SRM_SUS_USER_BPID' is not work at all.
Anybody met with similar problem? Or any suggestion do you have pls kindly show your solutions, Thanks!!

  • How to use rdbms as users data store in a form authentication webapp?

    Hi,ALL!
    WLS 10.3
    This is part of web.xml:

Every time I want to access web page in /secureweb/,it takes me to /login.htm,and when I want to login on from /login.htm,it takes me to /login_fail.jsp,so I think there is nothing wrong with web.xml but WLS's configuration.
There is only one Security Realm called "myrealm" in my domain, and besides the DefaultAuthenticator and DefaultIdentityAsserter,I created a new SQL Authencator called sql_auth in front of them, after that,I created tables(USERS,GROUPS,GROUPMEMBERS) in my Oracle database accordding to the configurations in sql_auth,and insert some user data.
But it never successed when I used the data in the database to test the authentication,it allways go to the /login_fail.jsp page...
    What's wrong there?
    Best Regards!

Hello, these are the SQLs from the "provider specific" configuration tab in my SQLAuthenticator,in fact,it's provided by WLS,and I have never modified them:
    SQL Get Users Password:SELECT U_PASSWORD FROM USERS WHERE U_NAME = ?
    SQL Set User Password:UPDATE USERS SET U_PASSWORD = ? WHERE U_NAME = ?
    SQL User Exists:SELECT U_NAME FROM USERS WHERE U_NAME = ?
SQL List Users:SELECT U_NAME FROM USERS WHERE U_NAME LIKE ?
    SQL Create User:INSERT INTO USERS VALUES ( ? , ? , ? )
    SQL Remove User:DELETE FROM USERS WHERE U_NAME = ?
SQL List Groups:SELECT G_NAME FROM GROUPS WHERE G_NAME LIKE ?
    SQL Group Exists:SELECT G_NAME FROM GROUPS WHERE G_NAME = ?
    SQL Create Group:INSERT INTO GROUPS VALUES ( ? , ? )
    SQL Remove Group:DELETE FROM GROUPS WHERE G_NAME = ?
    SQL Is Member:SELECT G_MEMBER FROM GROUPMEMBERS WHERE G_NAME = ? AND G_MEMBER = ?
    SQL List Member Groups:SELECT G_NAME FROM GROUPMEMBERS WHERE G_MEMBER = ?
    SQL List Group Members:SELECT G_MEMBER FROM GROUPMEMBERS WHERE G_NAME = ? AND G_MEMBER LIKE ?
    SQL Remove Group Memberships:DELETE FROM GROUPMEMBERS WHERE G_MEMBER = ? OR G_NAME = ?
SQL Add Member To Group:INSERT INTO GROUPMEMBERS VALUES( ?, ?)
    SQL Remove Member From Group:DELETE FROM GROUPMEMBERS WHERE G_NAME = ? AND G_MEMBER = ?

    SQL Get Group Description:SELECT G_DESCRIPTION FROM GROUPS WHERE G_NAME = ?
    SQL Set Group Description:UPDATE GROUPS SET G_DESCRIPTION = ? WHERE G_NAME = ?
And these are the SQLs for creating tables(Oracle 11G):
    CREATE TABLE USERS(
    U_NAME VARCHAR2(50) PRIMARY KEY,
    U_PASSWORD VARCHAR2(50) NOT NULL,
    U_DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(50) NOT NULL);
    CREATE TABLE GROUPS(

    INSERT INTO GROUPS(G_NAME,G_DESCRIPTION)VALUES('groupa','groupdesa');
    INSERT INTO GROUPMEMBERS(G_NAME,G_MEMBER)VALUES('groupa','usera');
    COMMIT;
I still can't see any users or groups in my SQLAuthenticator...
    Thank you!

  • Access enforcer and User Data Source for HR

We are on Access Enforcer 5.2 - service pack 2:
My problem is that when creating a new request in AE, I able to get a list of all users when I point my User Data Source to either SAP or UME. However when I attempt to create a request whilst pointing the User Data Source at the SAPHR system, I do not get any users back (and we have user set up in the SAP HR system).
I’ve changed the connector to ‘YES’ under the HR System box, I’ve changed the Data Source Type and Details Source Type to point at the SAPHR and still it fails to fetch any users.
I've tried looking at the log, but can't get much out of it.
I would appreciate it, if anyone could provide any assistance.
    Thanks you in advance.

    Hi Micheal,
    Thanks for your reply.
I'm pointing both Data Source Type and Details Source Type to the same system SAPHR and to the same system name (which is our dev system)

  • How to recover backup user data after a restore

I had a disk fail and could not boot. while in the restore software I was able to backup user data to a USB drive. Now that I've restored from the restore partition and got it running windows 7 home again, I don;t see how to recover the user data made with the low level software. Windows back up doesn't seem to recognise it and I can't find an HP utility to get at it.
A program saved with the .wim back up files brought up an HP restore manager application that then copied the filed to my new C drive but how do I actually get it to recover them into their appropriate places and recreate users etc.
Or, should I just consider myself lucky to still have copies of the files at all?  I'll not be real happy about that because it will be a tom of work to recreate everything manually even with the files.
I'm hoping someone out there has a better solution for recovering all my user data into my new restored initial image.
    thanks,
    -dcb

Hello dcbrower, You may be able to use the program Universal Extractor to extract the files in the .wim file.
This is a Free program that can be found at this  Link. .
Just extract the files in the wim file to a location you would like.
Please click the White Kudos star on the left, to say thanks.
