IPhone Music Sync not making changes?

So, I've been having this issue for a while and it's annoying the heck out of me. What happens is that once I sync a song over to my iPhone, I can't make any changes to it at all via my computer. An example would be me syncing Pink Floyd's "The Wall", noticing that it has the wrong release year, changing it on iTunes, syncing it over, only to find out that it still keeps the wrong release year. This problem covers everything. Ratings, lyrics, anything related to music data. Deleting the songs/albums does not fix it, as the phone still retains the incorrect data. The only way to get rid of it is to do a complete restore, which I've done 4 times in the last two days. Help?

What do your options say when you plug the iPhone into iTunes?
Mine look like this
Make sure manually manage music and videos is selected.
Have you tried:
Sync over Wi-Fi
Using a different cable to connect iPhone to your computer
Check when editing ID3 Tags on songs/albums that they save in iTunes
I run into these issues all the time and I use iTunes all day everyday. Trust me I know it's a hassle sometimes the best solution for me is to get a better source when getting your music.

  • Music sync not available in iTunes 10.5 preferences

I have upgraded to iTunes 10.5, upgraded my iPhone to iOS 5, updated OS-X to 10.7.2, updated iPhoto to latest version, enabled sync of everything in OS-X iCloud settings.
BUT, in the iTunes preferences, under store, Music is not available as an option to syncronize, only programs and books as earlier.
The Apple guides state that Music should be there.
What can be wrong?  any other having this problem?
I want all my bought music to be available on all my devices...

    hey  henke,
I , too , was wondering why the most important service that I was waiting for , was not available.... the check box for "music" does not appear.
It turns out that this service is ONLY available to users that have an AMERICAN iTunes account....
sadly , apple dons't say that and in the web site it seems that this sync service for music is availale for all.
I guess amd hope it will come to Europe soon. i myself have a German account in itunes

  • IPhone 4s music sync not completing

I had my phone replaced a couple weeks ago, which is great and all, but I've been trying to get about 10 gigs of music back on to it without much luck.
I have had a multitude of issues.  I've had a couple times where the sync won't start, but I can usually get around that.
The real problem is, after sitting through about two hours, watching my 5000-some songs filter on to the phone, it then seems to get hung up on the last step, "waiting for items to copy."  This last time, I let it sit for two hours+ at that stage, before I realized I really had somewhere to be. (finding four conscious hours at a time where I can leave my phone and my computer sitting around is a bit of a stretch)  So, I braved hitting the cancel sync button.  The cancelling sync status then proceeded to hang around for quite a while, until I just force quit itunes.  Which then resulted in all my data being categorized as "other" when I next hooked it up (including ten gigs of transferred songs, which won't actually appear on the phone), leading me to restore my phone yet again to clear the useless data.
So, I guess my next step here might be to try letting it sync over night?
I have the latest version of itunes, 11.1.5, and the latest ios, 7.0.6, unless things have updated again without telling me.  I recently repaired a bunch of disk permissions and such in an effort to get ibooks working with my phone correctly (an ongoing process), so hopefully those aren't the problem.  I've reset the phone, quit and reopened itunes, etc.  I'm thinking about maybe resetting the sync history?  I don't know much about that, so I am not sure how it would be helpful but I saw it mentioned in my googling.
Anyways, any tips would be appreciated.  Do you think it just needs more time to get itself together at the end there?  And on another note, any chance this will be resolved permanently any time soon?  It's pretty lame to have a 32 gig phone I can't put anything on.

    Hmm...
Unclick the "Sync Music" box, then sync your iPhone. Restart your computer and iPhone, then open iTunes again. After that, try syncing the music again. I have encountered this problem multiple times, and I have not found a complete method yet, but I have tried this one before.

  • I am trying to move music from my computer without syncing or loosing my iPhone music.  When I change the manage music manually (which all of the forums say is the way to do it) I get a notice that says I will loose the existing songs!

I have been with Apple from the 80's and have tried to flow with the changes, but seriously, this simply *****!
I am taking a class and have 2 songs that are on my macbookpro, I need to get them onto the phone WITHOUT deleting the rest of the songs already on the phone.   No! I dont want to erase the phone! and I also dont want the music on the phone to be moved to the computer because the computer is occasionally accessed by my students

Well, most of what we can tell you is already stated in the message you are getting.  A phone can only sync with one library at a time.  You have apparently synced your phone with a different iTunes library in the past, or changes have been made to this library so the phone no longer recognizes it as the library with which it was synced.  To know which you will have to provide the information.
If you bought them using the AppleID you use with this phone it may simply be easier to re-download them directly to the phone rather than sync them, though you will want to resolve that issue at some point.

  • TS3581 iphone Music is not working

How can i stop my music on my iphone from changing and not playing my songs.

Do you have Shuffle turned on? Are you sure all of the music is synced to the phone? You may want to do a reset on the device, it does not affect your data. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will restart. See if it works after that.

  • Macbook-iPhone music syncing issue

I recently got a MacBook Pro. My iPhone, which was synced on my old computer, will not work with my Pro because it says that it is synced with another library. I am signed onto my only iTunes account on both my new computer and my iPhone. How do I fix this?

You can only sync your itunes media content ( music, videos..) to one computer at a time. When you connect your phone to another computer or reinstall your system or itunes or change your itunes library, all media content on your iphone will be erased and replaced with the content of the new itunes library.
Contacts, pictures taken with your phone and purchased data from itunes like apps can be transferd to the new computer or are part of the backup of your phone in itunes.
So, disable autosync in itunes. Connect your phone and backup manually by right clicking on the phone in the device list. Transfer purchases the same way: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able to merge your data when you restore from the backup after the first sync.

  • ITunes-iPhone music syncing issue, HELP PLEASE!

Hi, after having some hardware issues with my iPhone 5, Apple replaced it with a new one.
I restored everything from my iCloud backup with no problem and it downloaded all of my iTunes Store songs on the phone without any issues and as I plugged my phone into my 2010 MacBook Pro to put some new songs to it from a CD I just bought, ALL of the songs that I have on my phone that I bought from the iTunes Store were duplicated as grey 'ready to sync' songs. But they were not syncing. So I deleted all music and videos from my phone (by the way, I always use the Manually manage songs and videos function in all my devices, never did auto-sync) thinking maybe if i drag everything from my computer it'll change, but it won't! Whenever I click on 'sync', the grey songs appear. And the grey songs are only the songs that were bought from the iTunes Store and the songs I used to have on the other iPhone, that are in the iCloud backup. I've tried almost eveything for the past 3 days and finally gave up and decided to ask for help. If anyone can help me i'll be extremely grateful, thanks.
My iPhone 5 is running on iOS 7.0.6 and 11.1.4 on iTunes
ps: Please feel free to ask anything if I didn't explain it too clearly, English is not my main language.

Im unable to assist you with the mac/mail side of the house. If you had outlook then I could assist. My thougts would be...With your phone plugged into iTunes, go to the second tab and confirm that you have contacts checked to sync between your computer/phone...if you don't then it will just transfer all your 0's and 1's to digi land. Contacts and calenders sync with your calender software, iTunes is just the conduit to get it there. I would also recommend that when you get your contacts back on your computer that you create a backup file in case this happens again, then you can just restore it. Hope this all helps.
    Good Luck

  • Iphone music sync problems

    Hello,
I recently transfered music from my dell laptop (music uploaded from personal cd collection) to my new iphone 4s.  The songs appear on the phone in light grey but will not play.  I have authorized the laptop after the transfer per a suggestion from friend when I first encountered problem.  Still no luck.  Any ideas.

After updating my iPhone 5 to 7.0.3 a few weeks ago, this issue has been bugging me. Finally got it syncing on mine after all this time. Simply unchecking the Sync Music and applying and then checking it back on and reapplying did not work.
    What I finally did:
    1) Uncheck all the playlists that are checked AND uncheck the Sync Music and then click Apply.
    2) Then recheck the Sync Music box AND recheck the desired playlists and then click Apply.
(You may have to unplug the sync cable and plug back in before step 2. I had to do it on occasion, but sometimes I didn't and it worked fine.)
The caveat is that apparently you may have to do this everytime you want to add a playlist or song. Also on occasion I found an issue where I click on a song but it would play another one and moving to another song would play the song I wanted to play previously.  I did a reset and it played correctly after that.
It's an inconvenience for now until a certain company fixes the issue. Hope this helps.

  • IPhone Music Sync Failure

Having tried everything (restarting / deselecting playlists and tracks / trying to download CopyTrans) my up to date iphone 4S and my also up to date itunes refuses to finish syncing. It hangs on the 'waiting for changes to be applied' for ever.
It has also wiped all of my music off my iPhone.
Has any one found an answer?

    it didnt work for me

  • When I update a recurring event on my iPhone, it does not make changes to the calendar in ical or icloud.  Is anyone else having this issue?

Updating a recurring event on my iPhone does not update the event in either ical or icloud.  If I add a new event on the iPhone it updates right away.  Is this a known problem?  Should I get rid of the recurring event and just make changes day to day manually?  I like having the recurring event set for my work schedule because it rarely changes, but when it does, I'd like to use my iPhone for the updates instead of carrying around my MAC Book all the time.
    Thank you!

After connecting to iTunes, I noticed that "Back up to iCloud" was selected (in the middle of the screen on the "Summary" tab, under "Backup"), and "Last backed up to iCloud" reflected the time that I attempted to back up from my phone. Even now, the phone still says "Last Backup: Never," so there is clearly a disconnect. Hopefully Apple will fix this soon.

  • IPhone calendar sync not working after upgrade to 9.2(61)

I updated my iTunes software and now the calendar on my iPhone won't sync properly.
When I change an event on the iPhone and then sync, it doesn't update in the calendar on my computer and it changes the event back to where it was before I changed it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Had same problem....Apple tech guided me through this procedure that worked fine...
    1) Sync your phone so that everything on your computer is as it should be.
    2) RESTORE phone to factory settings. This is a choice in iTunes under the Summary tab when you have your iPhone device selected.
    3) During this procedure you will be asked if you want to SET AS NEW PHONE. It is important to select YES to this option. This procedure takes some time...15-30 minutes
    4) Set up your options for syncing from iTunes under the Info tab. If you change any settings here and ALLOW it, syncing will automatically happen. Make sure your calendar is being synced.
    5) Check out the results...should be good.....I needed to sync a number of times to get everything back to normal.
    6) Since doing this, the calendar syncs as it should and did before the upgrade, alone with everything else I want to sync.
    Good Luck

  • Iphone 4s sync not getting complete

I'm using a Macbook air and Iphone  4S. From last few days I have observed that my 4s is not getting synced  in Itunes, It says syncing, completes stage one and at stage two syncing  mails, it stays there forever.

  • Iphone music sync advice

    Hello,
I got an iphone and this was my first time using itunes. My question is while adding new songs to my library and to sync them up , do we need to sync all of the existing ones with newly added or can we just select the newly added ones.
If i check the newly added songs and sync,my iphone has only the new ones and the old music is gone.
Pls advice if i am doing this in a wrong way.

Make a new playlist, and fill it with whatever tunes you want from your library by dragging the tunes there. With your phone connected, choose the Music tab, check Sync Music, and choose "Selected Playlists" and pick the playlist you created. Now sync.
If you have "only sync checked items" selected on the main Summary tab, it will only sync those that are checked in the playlist. So you might want to just leave all your music checked, but only drag those you want synced to the playlist.
Once you get the hang of it, it really is a simple way to keep what you want on the iphone. You can sync more than one playlist if you like, and they'll all show up on the phone. But that way, if you have more than 8 GB of music, you couldn't sync it all anyway, so you'd have to have a subset of what you want on the phone, that is, a playlist.
