IPhone no longer backs up, backing up not available on menu
My iPhone 3GS is not backing up anymore when connected to my computer, the back up option is not available on the device menu.
How can I back it up, how can I have it restart backing up when the iPhone is connected to sync?
Since this forum was of no help whatsoever, I did some other research myself and found a program called "Backup Switch" available at http://www.microseconds.com/
This worked and nothing here did.

If this doesn't resolve it you most likely have a hardware failure. Fortunately, your phone is in warranty, so if you take it to an Apple store they will replace it. -

No, not at all possible. The device has to be on and it has to be connected to the internet (wifi or cellular connection). Tracking uses internet data, so a device that is off cannot be found remotely.

If the data network is not available for some time, to get it again we need to restart the phone instead it is not finding the data network instantly. why cant the iphone searches data net work offten if not available. i am totally disappointed with this!
Still it could not find the data network.it searches for voice network instantly and works too. but even full voice network available, there is no data network.when i restart the phone it could find data network.

Iphone no longer backs up when plugged into itunes
Hi guys,
I think this started after updating to iOS5.
Previously, when I would plug my phone in, it would sync AND create a backup. Now however, it simply does not. I recently realized on the summary screen that my latest backup for my iPhone was several weeks old.
In itunes "Back up to this computer" is ticked. Under preferences "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" is not ticked.
I have experimented with "sync with this phone over Wi-Fi" On or off that doesen't seem to force a backup.
If I click the "sync" button in the bottom right corner, it will sync and create a backup. However, I would really like to have the process be more automated.
My guess is that Apple is making this harder because they want everyone to backup via iCloud? Or am I missing something?
JakeNo, it's not crippled. Mine works exactly the way it always has after upgrading to iOS5.

back up not listed in Devices, but listed in preference. how can I restore back up if it's not listed in the drill down options?

Are you taking backup from the local tape device or from 3rd party software.
I cannot clearly what is the exact problem, Your saying either Db12 the status is mot shown then asking for how to take the backup.
If a backup device is properly configured in the system, then you can take online and offline backup by scheduling in the DB13 tcode.
Pls state the exact problems so that it is easy to provide the solution.

You can only purchase from the country in which you live. You cannot purchase from the Japan Store if you live in the U.S. and your iTunes account is a U.S. based account.

Since the upgrade to iOS 6 some of my music playlists from iOS 5 do not work, eg recently added, recently played, probably because they are not available on iOS6. Should I delete them.

ManishYou can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks).
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export<br />
Import the HTML file in Firefox 3: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Iphone 4s io7 wifi sync says pc not available
I'm sure this has been asked and answered a thousand times but in all the searching I still can't find an answer to this .
From my iphone 4s with io7 when i try to wifi sync itunes it always says "it will sync when pc is available".
It won't even recognize the iphone 80% of the time when its plugged into usb.
I checked and rechecked all proper settings on the phone, pc, laptop and router and still the "sync now" is greyed out .
Also on on my windows 8.1 laptop when i have it plugged it it recognizes the phone but if i try to send something to it says" this device has stopped working or has been disconnected even though it is still listed in the network folder .

The only operation supported directly between a computer folder (e.g. using Windows Explorer) and an iPhone is to move Camera Roll pictures from the phone to the computer. It is not possible to move any type of data from the computer folder to the iPhone except by using iTunes to sync that data. -
Client reconnect takes long when first node is not available
Hi guys,
I am looking for a way how to "speed up" client reconnect in following scenario:
I have two brokers running in HA cluster configured against a DB2 database as storage for messages. I configured JNDI with a connection factory pointing to both clusters:
imqAddressList = mq://localhost:7676,mq://localhost7677
imqReconnectAttempts = 0
On the client side I lookup the connection factory from JNDI and per request (or in other cases for more client requests) I create a connection from the factory. When I shut down first broker, second will correctly take over. The problem is that when I make new request it tries to create new connection from the same factory but first try will be timeouted because first broker is down. It takes another 3seconds to create correct connection to second broker. So every request until first broker is up again will take 3 seconds.
I looked into the code and it doesn't seem there is a way how to configure it. Can you give me a hint in which direction to go? Should I :
- implement a connection pool for JMS or
- extend connection factory so it will change the order of addresses
- hack it somewhere directly in the code?

The RANDOM stuff will partially help but still it will always take time for each connection created. For the moment it looks that implementing a connection pool is the best solution. It will reduce the time because there will be only one reconnect for a connection, then it will be prepared in the pool for reuse.

Upgrading iphone 3gs to iOS 4.3 option not available. Only to iOS5
I want to upgrade 3gs to iOS 4.3 but iTune now only shows option for iOS 5. But I don't think 3gs can handle it..
Is there any way to get iOS 4.3 ? because then it will allow me view video streaming via bbc iplayer or Sky Go apps.Apple only allows upgrading to the most current version, there is no reason to upgrade to a previous release.
