IPhone no longer recognizes the sim card in it although iTunes recognizes
the iPhone...I used the iPhone yesterday and I have NOT messed with the sim card but when I turned it on tonite, it says in the upper L corner = No Sim Card = it does see the Wireless netwrok
what do I do???
If a reset, as suggested, does not work, most of the time you can fix this by removing and reseating the SIM card.
1. Turn the iPhone off (hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears, then slide it to turn off the phone.
2. Eject the SIM card tray (insert a small paper clip or safety pin into the tiny hole next to the headphone jack, push down firmly to make the tray pop out, then remove it from the phone).
3. Pop the SIM card out and then reseat it in the tray. Reinstall the tray in the phone.
4. Turn the phone on.
If this does not fix it, you either have a SIM card that went bad or a problem with the SIM reader. The next step would be to go to the AT&T store to get a new SIM card.
If you still have the problem with the new SIM, you need to have the phone serviced by Apple.

My I phone 3GS keeps saying no sim. How can I get it to recognize the SIM card?
My iPhone keeps saying No SIM. How can I get it to recognize the SIM card?
TRy removing the sim card wipe it clean then insert it again. Your sim card tray might be dusty. Another option is turning your airplane mode on and off.
btw, is your network signal strong in the area where you are currently? Ask ATT if there is any area outage -

On the phone I'm getting Cinfigure screen asking Launguage , Country or Region, Wi-Fi, ( I can connect to my home wi-fi), and last screen "Activating your iPhone". After two minutes of waiting IM getting message: Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server in temporary unavailable. try connecting to iTunes or try later or contat apple.com/support.

I bought an iPhone 5 at full retail price from an AT&T store. I requested the phone to be unlocked through their unlock portal. The AT&T unlock system asked for the IMEI number, a copy of my receipt showing that I bougth the phone at "No Commitment" price. A few hours later I received a message from AT&T stating that the unlock request was approved. I then followed the instructions to back up the phone and restore it through Itunes. The phone activates normally with the AT&T SIM card. But when I insert my VODAFONE SIM I get the massage "THE SIM CARD... etc.
I tried again to back up & restore the phone 3 or 4 times, no success. I have also allowed 24 hours for the unlock process to complete. Still no luck.
I have checked again on the AT&T Unlock Status portal and it shows "Unlock approved".
Where is the issue here? Do I have to call Apple or return the phone to AT&T and get the unlocked phone through the Apple Store?
Thanks for any help on this. -

replacement SIM card.It appears that you have an iPhone that is locked to a carrier other than the one you were using. Now that you have tried to update the iOS, it has relocked. That is what happens if you are using a phone that has been hacked to unlock. You have also forfeited support from Apple and from this forum.

Do I need to power off the iphone 4s before remove the sim card?
Thanks, I think so, too.
But Apple says "When changing the SIM card, power off the device prior to opening the SIM tray" in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2309. -
My 5S does not recognize the SIM card although the card is recognized by another phone
I bought a new SIM card in Brazil for my 5S after it was blocked because I had lost it for about six weeks.
The phone did not recognize the SIM card. Thinking it was a hardware problem i took it to an Apple store in the US where the assistant showed that her sim card was recognized by my phone. However my SIM card continued not to work in Brazil. A colleague's SIM will not work either in my phone but my SIM card will work in her phone. What could be the problem? What is the EXACT message you get?

What can I do if my Iphone doesn't read the SIM card?
I bought an Iphone 4S in France because I had a gift card but now I live in Italy and It doesn't read my Sim card. Someone told me that I have to unlock It, but I don't know if it is true. What can I do?
Contact the wireless carrier that the iPhone is locked to and
ask them if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. Only the
wireless carrier to which the iPhone is locked can unlock it. -
TA25361 did restore and now wont recognize the sim card and wont start up the phone
hello
How did you get your iphone unlocked?
ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it.
No one else at all.
Any other method is a hack and will result in what has happened in your case. -
