What's up Apple? And is this forum your idea of support services?  Not one formal response from Apple Support acknowleging the issue or what to do.  That says a lot about how you view your customers and what your focused on.
No one here is an Apple employee, we're all users like yourself.
You will almost never see a formal response from Apple here.  If there is an issue, they will release an iOS update.
Replace the SIM card, then chill out.

    Hi jclarke64,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
I'm sorry to hear that your iPhone 4s was lost, and glad that you were able to upgrade.
If your iPhone 4s was backed up to iCloud or using iTunes, you can restore the backed up data to your new phone.
See the steps in this article for help with restoring from a backup:

  • Many of the times my Iphone 3G 16GB shows "No Service" in the specific network area, but if the same sim card is used with other mobile handset in the same network area its shows full network, Is this a Iphone 3G Handset problem or is network

Many of the times my Iphone 3G 16GB shows "No Service" in the specific network area, but if the same sim card is used with other mobile handset in the same network area its shows full network, Is this a Iphone 3G Handset problem or is it a problem with network service provider for iphone in india with Airtel.

Try to reset Network setting thru (Setting/General/Reset/Reset Network Setting - after clicking on it the phone will ask to reboot)
According to my R&D I have experienced that one must reset the network each time when we r at home or in office or other places, the phone after resetting the network setting acquires the area specific network setting n works well, try it & if any other solution do let me known
Calling up customer care did not help me, they do keep us in a loop with the same old answeres that “Our technical team is working on it & WILL GET BACK TO u” leaving us with no solution at the end
Try what I suggest think to will help u

  • HT201412 I dropped my iphone 4. It showed a 'sim problem' window and now has no service.

my iphone 4 slipped off a table and than later had a window that said 'sim problem' and now has no service.

    Hey 35Cotton,
I understand that you're encountering SIM/service issues on your iPhone. I would run through these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
    Restore the iPhone.
If you still are unable to resolve this issue, contact Apple support for further assistance.

  • I've just got a iPhone 5, the problem I've got is I can't transfer my phone contacts of my old sim to the iphone 5. The old sim is a lot bigger than the iPhone one.

I've just got an iPhone 5, the problem I've got is I can't transfer my old contacts of my old sim to my iPhone. The old sim is a lot bigger than the new one

The iPhone 5 uses a Nano-Sim, your old phone uses a Micro-Sim.  But you already knew that.  If you purchased your iPhone 5 from a specific carrier, and the same carrier provided your old device, they may be able to transfer your contacts.  Otherwise, you can search for a method to sync your old phone contacts to another service (like Google contacts, or yahoo contacts, or the Personal Information Manager on your computer like Outlook or Windows contacts), then sync the data to your iphone.

  • IPhone 3G Reception Problems? You're Not Alone

I have the same problem with 3G coverage. I am suppose to be in a strong 3G coverage area at home. I only have 1 bar. Traveling around town (Sacramento area) my 3G coverage changes dramatically. From 1 bar to full bars? Not sure if its working properly or not??? Anyhow, this was posted on Engadget. After they exchanged their iPhone the problem went away? Could it be true? Is it the netork or our iPhones? Lets all hope nothing is wrong with our iPhones!!!!
iPhone 3G Reception Problems? You're Not Alone
One of the more disturbing things coming out of the iPhone 3G launch is reports of suspiciously poor 3G reception and speeds. Specifically, I've seen several people report one bar - specifically, one bar - of 3G reception in areas where other devices report strong reception. (More complaints at Engadget.)
This may be a problem with a batch of iPhones, or with something in AT&T's network, though I've also seen someone reporting the problem on O2 in the UK. The first review iPhone we got had this problem - it would mysteriously drop from four bars of 3G to one for no apparent reason, while our Motorola RAZR2 V9 reported better reception. Then it would shoot back up to four bars for no apparent reason a few minutes later. That unit would also occasionally throw up an "invalid SIM" error, requiring a reboot. That phone also had hideously slow 3G data speeds in the 50 kbps-150 kbps range, so the missing bars weren't just a display issue; there was something wrong with the way the phone was hitting the network.
We exchanged that iPhone for a different unit and no longer had the problem. We took the new iPhone and carried it around comparing it to a Motorola V9, and the two phones connected roughly the same number of calls on the 3G network. The new unit also had much higher data speeds in the same locations - still not great, in the 300-400 kbps range, but at least reflecting 3G.

my white iphone does the same thing. I will drop down to one bar on 3g but full strength when i turn 3g off. Some people have tried to say that it is because 3g had more difficulty going through walls. Mine will not switch between 3g and edge on it's own so i find that when at home i just have to turn off the 3g. I have also heard rumors of a bad batch of iphones. I tried to take it into the store today but they were so busy i just had to make an appointment for thursday, although i was able to replicate the problem in front of the apple geek, which was a little surprising becuase while in line outside the store i had full bars of 3g. It might just be an issue that occurs when indoors? I also have a problem with lag. I'm hoping to get it resolved thurdays, whether they give me a new phone or just tell me to eff off and deal with it. probably the latter.

  • AT&T Do not open my new iPhone to sim free :( NEED HELP PLEASE :(

I just bought an AT&T iPhone 4 from eBay and i live in Israel.
I need to unlock the phone because our "Carrier" {ORANGE} do not work if the iPhone not sim free.
    I called AT&T "1-800-3310-500" few times follow this article: "http://www.noeman.org/gsm/mobile-phone-talk/48308-why-pay-t-unlock-code.html" for a "non-customers" section .
AT&T rep say that she cannot help me if I'm  not an AT&T customer, I asked them what can i do? I bought the iPhone from eBay and the person that sold me the iPhone also send me an AT&T Sim card and  when i insert to the iPhone and open the iTune i saw the old number so i told to the AT&T rep that i have an old AT&T Sim and if she can open the phone? She say OK took my IMEI number and then suddenly she ask me what is the 4 social number digit of the Sim holder? I told her i don't know i bought the phone from eBay i only have the person name, Sim number and paypal confirmation, i don't know the social number... then she say that she cannot do nothing...
Please help what can i do?
    Sagi.

Can any one send me Apple email support that i can write them?
The iPhone 4 I mentioned above was bought from eBay I have problems that the iPhone is locked to AT&T carrier although the previous customer graduated his payments to the company.
In the last few days I called (1-800-3310-500) and Corresponded ([email protected]) with AT&T number of times and ask from the represent to open the phone to Sim free because I live in Israel and my Carrier is “ORANGE” and when I remove AT&T Sim and insert my local Sim, the phone not working. I told them that I can send them the PayPal transaction confirmation on the Acquisition and the IMEI  on the  phone.
They say that only AT&T customers can ask to open the phone and I'm not a customer thats why they cannot begin the apply request to Apple.
I love Apple products and I use them every day and very happy.
When someone say to me change to Android products I tell him it's like to compare between BMW and Subaru cars, ofcource the BMW represend the Apple IOS system.
I think  what AT&T doing is Bullying!!!

  • IPhone 6 (plus) Problem Display Edges Chipping (breaking away) or broken from factory (underside) No warranty coverage by Apple!

ACHTUNG! iPhone 6 (plus) Problem: Chipped (broken) edges of display glass. Owner Beware! Apple denied warranty coverage.
    Can this be true?
Recently I found a little trace on the edge of my iPhone 6. Very small, at the bottom edge of the display glass.
You could hardly make it out, but visible enough to catch the eye.
Since my iPhone 6 has never dropped or bumped in any way, I addressed this issue to AppleCare support, and sent them the device.
The upshot: Diagnostics of the technician’s: broken glass! Warranty coverage: DENIED!
This damage comes from improper usage or is an accidental damage.
The AppleCare adviser also confirmed that this device also is not qualified for any further warranty claim, because of the broken display.  (See Appels warranty conditions).
Apple returned my phone unrepaired. The sim tray was missing, and a note in the return package said, that warranty repair was denied and that I can buy a new device at apple store.
For me it is OBVIOUSLY a PRODUCTION ERROR by the manufacturer, and has to be fixed for free within the warranty.
I made pictures of this problem so you can see what I mean.
I can only recommend to anyone urgently, to carry a 10x loupe (preferably illuminated) to the store, if you are going to buy an iphone 6 or 6 plus.
Otherwise, if you catch a device with chipped edges on the glass you are out of warranty.
Please notice that the complete bottom edge has marks of broken and chipped glass!
I think the whole construction with the round edges is the problem. The glass is simply too thin at the edges.
It could be more iPhones suffering the same problem.
Btw: The glass surface on top is perfectly intact. The broken pieces are on the bottom!
You can feel nothing if you do not take the display apart.
However, I set up a mail with my lawyer and am waiting how Apple will respond.
They are of course also invited to discuss on community portals worldwide about this.
Please let me know what you think and if someone had success with the same problem.

Hi. I have the same problem. Unpacked a new iPhone6 and the phone had a small chip under the glass on the edge. Local store says that this is not covered as it would have been incorrect use. Pretty strange as it came out of the box like this and the metal edge of the phone is perfect (which shows that it was not dropped), just the glass is chipped (looks as if the chip is inside of the glass). To me it looks like a production issue as the glass is curved and gets thinner towards the edges. Would be interested if more people have the same issue in order to put a claim forward to Apple.....

  • IPhone 5 Sim Tray Material?

    Hi,
i have a question to the iPhone 5 Sim Tray.
My problem is that my provider can't deliver Nano-SIMs.
He mean it is possible at January 2013.
So now i cutted my Sim from Micro to Nano.
It works great in my iPhone 4.
But now comes the big question.
I think the iPhone 5 Sim Tray is a metal tray.
Could i have short circuits when i insert the cutted sim in the iPhone 5 Tray?
Or has the tray a isolation like the iPhone 4 tray?
I hope anybody can help me.
    Thanks.

iPhone 5 confirmed to use nano-SIM, current SIMs not compatible.
The "Micro SIM" is too thick to fit in the iPhone 5.

    http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/buying-advice/mobile-phone/3380824/apple-iphone-5-nan o-sim-what-you-need-know/
But the difference in thickness, even just 0.09mm, may cause problems when a cut-down micro-SIM is inserted into an aperture designed for a nano-SIM.
I knop that 0.09 mm is not a large difference in thickness, but will add up to be too thick if you try "jamming" one in the iPhone 5.

  • Rubrica iPhone e SIM aziendale

Hi - I have an iphone 5 and and old ihone 3G - the 3G was the one I was thinking of using as I said without sim card. I want to take the iphone 5 with sim card have it turned off and use it once a week to call home. Am I being too precautious by taking 2 phones?

  • After restoring  iphone says sim card not support, contact your carrier get supporting sim card. I have att sim card.

I bought iphone 3gs. Restored successful, but says your phone not support this sim card. Contact your carrier get supporting sim card. I have att simcard. I restored other iphones with no problem.

Have you gone to AT&T to get a replacement SIM card?

  • Will my iPhone 5 sim work in iPhone 6 plus

Will my iPhone 5 sim work in iPhone 6 plus, my iPhone has a nano sim its not the 5c or 5s, I'm still in contract but will buy out right the 6 plus and was hoping to use the iPhone 5 sim so I still have all my minutes, text etc, I've seen apple state the 5c and 5s sims work but no details about the 5
    thanks in advance

If you turn off iMessage, then you can't send or receive iMessages... in case that wasn't apparent.
The problem is the android users who did not turn off iMessage on their iPhones before they switched to something else.  They need to fix that. If they don't, then your only option is to turn off iMessage or forcibly send the messages as SMS messages.

  • SIM problems(bell canada)

Hello , i bought the iphone 3gs 32gig from bell canada about aweek ago for a 3 year contract , and i am problems with them sim card , first trouble it said no sim , so i returned and got a new sim now its saying 3 days later from the new one invalid sim and sim failure ...... how can i fix this ? or is it the os of the iphone?

Hi y'all! I actually registered to the forum just to reply to this thread to 1st: thanks everyone who helped me figure out that the damned Bell SIM card was faulty and 2nd: help anyone who could be in a similar situation. Here's my story (sorry its long but its worth the reading !):
I bought the most destroyed iphone (3G 16gb locked to Rogers) you probably ever seen (silent switch, headphone jack, sleep/awake button were dead and the back housing and glass were cracked) and wanted to rebuilt it and offer it to my girlfriend for christmas. I had to change : the headphone jack flex, the back housing, the battery, the vibrator, the proximity light sensor flex, the silent switch + the internal holder, the digitzer+glass assembly an rebuilt a metal pin for the home button. Once everything was done, I unlocked the phone and tested it with different SIM cards and everything worked flawless, so I gave her the phone for christmas, she went crazy because she would never have thought of receiving and iphone for christmas since I'm a student and I'm broke and I cannot offer her a 600$ phone. On december 26th we went to Bell to get a SIM card, put it on the phone and it worked. But 10 min later we had the whole No Signal -> No Sim thing. We rebooted the phone and it was ok for another 10 min and died again, and this cycle was never ending. The strangest thing was that the signal never died when we were home and the iphone was connected to the wifi, if I turned it off, it died again. This particular fact was making me think that it could not be linked to the SIM card since there is no link between it and the wifi and made me thought this has to do with the unloking of the phone.
I tried everything from the scotch tape behind the sim, soldering the metal pin from the motherboard to the chrome bezel, locking it to the 3G network by editing the csidata file by SSH to unlocking it with every single possible way. I was to the point of going to Bell and buy a new 700$ iphone when I read this tread and decided to try a new SIM. After arguing with the guy for half and hour (he was convinced it was the phone and told me to go to Apple), he finally exchange my SIM card and voilà ! It now works as a charm, after I repaired the digitizer for the 2nd time because I killed it by disassembling the phone too many times.
So the conclusion is this problem IS NOT APPLE/IPHONE/HARDWARE/SOFTWARE RELATED (this means dont bother getting your phone exchanged) it is a problem with BELL SIM CARDS ! If the guy at the Bell store is arguing tell him that you're gonna make a deal with him: you pay the card (5$) and if you come back in 3 days and had no signal loss, he gives you a refund. Do it as many times as required to have a working SIM. This is definitly the SIM card, since different models have the same problem an that even the most destroyed iphone ever seen finally worked with the new SIM (after way too much hours spent on that **** phone).
I hope this helps other in the same situation ! I'm even gonna add a few keywords (including french) so that people searching on google find this thread : Pas de signal, Bell Mobilité, iPhone 3G, Sim Failure, Pas de SIM
