Iphone not as good as touch ipod

Looks like the iphone won't support TV out while all the newer ipods will.
Quoted directly from the apple store for the apple AV cables.
Note: Component video output to television is supported by iPod nano (third generation) and iPod classic at 480p or 576p resolution, and by iPod touch at 480i or 576i resolution.
Great, just wonderful i say. This just gets worse and worse.

At the best of my knowledge and what i've read so far, the answer is yes. All the newer Ipods will support TV but not the iphone. As far as i know the iphone either does not have the TV out capability enabled or the ability actually do TV out. Not sure which one. If it's a software issue then at least we know it can be enabled. But if it's a hardware issue then chances are the Iphone will never have tv out.
And the apple AV cables seem to also support that idea that the iphone will not support TV out as well.
Which totally blows completely.
Which ***** since the iphone will not have all the features of the touch ipod.

  • WiFi not as good as other iPod Touch's

    Hi,
Me and a few of my friends own iPod Touch's
I own a 16GB which I bought from Apple, and my two other friends have 32GB's bought from local retailers.
Me and my friend stood side by side and tried to access the same WiFi network. We both could, but I could only get 2/3 signal strength, when he could get 3/3. He disconnected, then I tried to connect, and I could still only get 2/3 strength. This leads me to think there is a hardware problem or a bug OR the 32GB's WiFi system is better than the 16GB's.
I am covered until Jan 2009 according to the Online Service thing, so I guess I could contact Apple to have a look at it, but I guess it's worth asking if it's a known issue and if anyone else has it/can help.
    Cheers.

Can't answer your question, but I do know wifi is pretty unpredictable with many factors involved. How about this....I have a macbook pro that gets one bar (drops connection completely regularly) and an ipod touch that gets 3 bars in the same spot every time. The macbook pro cost about two grand and the IPT was $300. That bums me out a little, but I wouldn't trade the MBP for a dozen IPTs.
My point is if you get two bars and your friend gets three who cares. Two bars will do the job. Its like arguing that your car will only do a 100mph when our friends does 120mph. Be happy....theres other things to worry about.
By the way I am pretty sure the 8,16 and 32 meg IPTs all have the same hardware. Your paying money for storage not better wifi.

  • Is the iPhone not so good??

I Read Everyones questions and answers and they all sound like the iPhone is like Crap and not worth to buy....
So i Need Good Feedback on the iPhone.
Because im planning on buying an iPhone This Week!
And now that i read these topics and stuff im really considering it.
and i like the iPhone when i went to go look/play with it at at&t.
PLEASE HELP ME! SHOULD I BUY ONE? ARE THEY TO FRAGILE OR WHAT? HELP.

bear in mind this is a trouble shooting forum so you will see more problems then praise here. Personally I love my iPhone as do the other 2 million sold which do not post here. What you see in this forum is probally less then 1/2% of 1% of the total iPhones sold.
The iPhone lacks a few feartures which can be enchanced with software upgrades, but overall it is by far my favorite phone and well worth owning IMHO. Goto a AT&T store or Apple Store and play with a iPhone and I bet you will fall in love with it...
    Best wishes

  • Video plays fine in quicktime, not so good on the iPod.

I downloaded couple a of tv shows that were already in an .mp4 format and the resolution was already configured so it would play on an iPod without any converting. I dragged and dropped the files and I was ready to start watching. I starting watching my tv show and it played fine for the 1st 30 seconds. Then the playback would freeze for a good 3 to 5 seconds. It would then start playing again, however without sound. The only way I can get sound back is if i rewind the playback a second or 2 and then hit play. The sound will come back for another 30 seconds and then would freeze and loose sound thus continuing the annoying circle. I've taken the original file that I downloaded from BitComent and converted it using videodora and copied it to my pod. Same problem as before. Anyone have any ideas? I just find it odd that quicktime plays it without any problem, but the ipod looses it.

This sounds like a problem with the iPod software, specifically version 1.1. Try this to go back to software version 1.0, which should fix the issue...
Here are more detailed instructions on how to go back to 1.0, especially if you bought your iPod in the last couple of months and it came with 1.1.
First, please download the older version of the iPod Updater here...
    http://appldnld.m7z.net/content.info.apple.com/iPod/ww/win/061-2225.20051128.PDW nw/iPodSetup.exe
Now install that updater and restart your computer.
Now open the iPod updater (Start-->all programs-->iPod and find the iPod updater you just installed
Open the iPod Updater and connect your iPod. With that older version of the iPod updater you just installed, restore your iPod by clicking restore.
The iPod will restore and go back to software version 1.0. Now reload everything back into iTunes.
If you don't want to restore, see this...

  • HT1296 I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour.

I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title.  what do i do next??  They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • Touch in iPhone 5 is not as good as iPhone 4's

The touch in iPhone 5 is not as good as the iPhone 4's. I have used iPhone 4 for almost 2 years, and now i have started using iPhone 5. When i type, i am hitting the wrong alphabets or digits quite often. This was never an issue while i was using iPhone 4. So i was wondering if it has something to do with the quality of screen that is being used for iPhone 5.
When i hit the password for say Appstore, almost always it says that i have put the wrong password (implies that i have hit the wrong keys). Then i need to carefully touch the alphabets one by one, and only then it accepts the password. This does not happen even once when i am entering the password for my iPhone 4 (no matter how fast i hit the keys).
I strongly believe the quality of touch which was the USP of iPhone has gone down. IS it because of the vendor for the screens ???
I feel as if am using some Android phone because of the poor quality of touch.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue in iPhone 5?

Absolutely...... But people with large fingers like mine would struggle to type in this new layout of the keyboard.. The keyboard layout till iPhone 4S was just about perfect...
In iPhone 5 when i touch a button, the buttons around the one i intend to click, get clicked more often...
I am just not able to adjust to this new keyboard.......
Guess i will have to trade in my iPhone 5 for my wife's iPhone 4..
She will be more than delighted...

  • TS2830 Sync for IPod Touch quit working and I get error messages "a session could not be started" and "a connection could not be established" although the IPod appears in ITunes.

This is a new problem for an IPod Touch  I have had for a year.  The IPod is hooked up by cable and appears in ITunes. I can examine all the content on the IPOD  and I can click "sync".  It goes through to Step 7 and then the error messages occur.  First "a session could not be started with the IPod" and when that dialogue box is closed, the message "a connection could not be established to the IPod."

  • Can't install iPhone 2.0 Software Update for iPod touch

I am trying to download the iPhone 2.0 Software Update for iPod touch from http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/whatsnew.html so I can download apps for my new iPod touch. (Although it is pretty bogus that I should have to pay $10 for an upgrade on a brand new device so that I have the privilege to buy apps). I have iTunes 7.7 already installed.
When I click on the link https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/touchLandingPage , I do not get a download, and iTunes does not open. Nothing happens if I open iTunes before trying this link either.
Instead, I get a brief page which says "One Momemt Please". Connecting to the iTunes Store. Loading... If iTunes doen't open, click the iTunes application in your Doc or Windows Task Bar" , then my browser is redirected to http://www.apple.com/itunes/affiliates/download/?itmsUrl=itmss%3A%2F%2Fphobos.ap ple.com%2FWebObjects%2FMZFinance.woa%2Fwa%2FtouchLandingPage%3Fign-mscache%3D1 which tells me to download iTunes... but I already have iTunes installed.
I installed (then uninstalled, reinstalled) the latest iTunes (7.7.0.43) and the problem persists. iTunes works fine for all other uses.
I have the problem with both Firefox (3.0) and Internet Explorer (6)
How can I download and install The iPhone 2.0 Software Update for iPod touch directly from iTunes? I cannot find it when I search for it. It is not listed in the App store.
(P.S. The web support form does not work when I tried to fill out a problem report for "Connection" issues. Although I filled in all form fields, it would not send the report, telling me I did not fill in a field.)

The upgrade now appears directly in iTunes, so I do not need to access it from the web page. I see many others are encountering problems installing the upgrade, so I'll see how it goes...
There is no answer to the initial problem that iTunes install does not configure the browsers to handle the itmss:// protocol.
I still think Apple should not charge for this for a brand new iPod purchased just this week.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • How do I move my notes in the "On My IPod Touch" folder to the "iCloud" folder?

How do I move my notes in the "On My IPod Touch" folder to the "iCloud" folder?  I don't see where or how they are being backed up and want to make sure that they transfer to my new device.

    Hi,
I will recommend you to get a Mobile Me account, it can sync multi devices like an iPod Touch / iPad / iPhone, of course, included your computer flawlessly.
    For details, you can refer:
    http://www.apple.com/mobileme/
If you not prefer to get a Mobile Me account, you can sync both devices by using computer.
First of all, make sure the iPod Touch have not been ever synced by other computer. Otherwise, all the notes and contacts in your iPod Touch will be replaced by your computer information. (or iTunes will ask you to merge all the info, some data lost may occur.)
Connect your iPod Touch to the computer, in the iTunes, your connected iPod Touch will be shown on the left column, select it, on the right hand side is showing your iPod Touch details. Then, select "Info" tab (on top), check "Sync Address Book Contacts" and "Sync notes" in the "Other" section. Then click "Sync"
Suppose the selected / checked option will be synced. After sync is complete, eject your iPod Touch, connect your iPad, do the same setting as you did for your iPod Touch, and sync it.

  • 2nd generation touch ipod not recognized by itunes or Macbook

2nd generation touch ipod is no longer recognized by itunes. The ipod has been reset and the only screen image is the itunes icon with an arrow and a USB cord connection pointing to the itunes icon.
