IPhone not authorized to sync movie purchased on iMac

I purchased a movie on my iMac using my apple id. When I sync my iPhone with my computer, I get a message saying that my device is not authorized to sync the movie. Can someone help me? Thanks!

Hi bt,
Download the Movie to your Mac via your Purchased option in the iTunes Store. Click on the iTunes Store, then click on the Movies tab, then click on Purchased under the Quick Links section on the right. Your movie should display with a little cloud next to it. Click on the cloud to download.
Cheers,

My new itouch5 will not sync movies purchased from itunes thatsare saved in my itunes library.

    Mike, Hi
Thanks for yoursuggestions. I did see that article, tried correcting the permissions, looked at a few of the other things, but this doesn't make sense. This would only be the second computer that had these purchased songs on them. SO the 5 computer limit should have nothing to do with it.
The weird thing is how the computer tells me that it's not authorized to play the purchased songs and gives me the opportunity to put in either an AOL code or an Apple ID code to authorize this computer to play the song. I do it. I get a message that, congratulations, the computer has been successfully authorized to play the song. But then it simply does not play and when you try to play it it just recycles right back to the original message saying that the computer is not authorized.

I am facing issues with my music on my iOS device. I have five devices connected to my apple id. And out of which a Windows Machine and iPhone is not able to sync the purchased songs on the the Windows machine and the iPhone. The iPhone4 shows the songs are not supported and on the Windows Machine the songs do not play completely. Can anyone advice what could have gone wrong ? Because rest of the devices are synced to MacBook and they are able to sync the content normally.  I have even subscribed to iTunes Match but the problem is still not fixed.

    Firstly...  a little Clarity...
Devices refer to iDevices... iPod... iPhone... iPad. ..   Not Computers.
Authoriation applies ONLY to Computers... of which there is a Limit of 5 per Apple ID.
If the issue is with iTunes on your Windows Computer... Perhaps you need to Re-install iTunes...

  • Sync problem "not authorized to sync from this computer"!!

When I want to sync my iphone with application that I download to my itunes in my comuter. it gives error and says you are not authorized to sync your iphone at this computer???Why not??

    Diane,
I may have had another ID when I first started using iTunes - I just can't remember - I'll try to narrow it down using the smart playlist that you have suggested. As I'm thinking, I wonder if a disk that my daughter created for me a few years ago as a birthday gift (Dad's Mix) contained music that she had purchased with her account ID on iTunes, could be the culprit. Anyway, as I said, I'll try to whittle it down to isolate the songs that are generating the message. Thanks.

  • IPhone not authorized, or is it me ?  Any Ideas ?

I have never been so frustrated with a simple device.
I am not authorized to transfer my purchases.
My old computer died. I "authorized" my new computer when I downloaded ITunes.
I reloaded all my music from my external hard drive.
BTW I OWN this music, and these apps. Bought and paid for.
I cannot transfer songs to my IPhone.
    I am "not authorized"
Some items (88) cannot be transferred because YOU are not authorized on this computer. (click on "authorize computer", check) Try again, same response.
Up to this point I had only wonderful dealings with APPLE, and truly thought this is a good company, that truly cares about its customers.
I was right, as long as you are still buying, they love you. If you just need help, ES&Die.

  • HT1386 When synching iPad to iMac, get a message saying I am not authorized to sync the iPad!

Can't get iPad to recognize songs from computer.  Says I am not authorized to sync it.  songs are on the iPad but not bold, so can't play them.

Launch iTunes. Click on Music under the Library Heading to get into your music library. Right click on one of the songs and select Get info. You will see the Apple ID with which the music was purchased in the lower right corner of the window.
Obviously, this only works if the music was purchased from iTunes.

  • HT1977 It says that my computer is not authorized to sync apps to my ipod. How do i authorize it?

It says that my computer is not authorized to sync apps to my ipod. How do i authorize it?  It tells me "go to store>authorize my computer" But i cannot find this anywhere!

Open iTunes and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

  • Recently getting "not authorized" to sync apps to computer

For some reason I'm getting a "not authorized" to sync apps installed on my iPad to my computer. I've done it before, however, its not allowing me to sync now, even after I attempted to re-authorize with my correct account info.

Fixed it by doubleclicking on the game in iTunes and authorizing it.

  • HT1296 iphone not found when syncing?

Iphone not found when syncing? How do you fix?

    Have you tried this?
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

  • Ever since updating to IOS5 my iPhone will no longer sync with my iTunes on my computer. It states that my computer is not authorized to sync with my iPhone yet it is authorized. My "Music" folder on my iPhone is now showing as completely empty.

Hey guys. Can you please help me? My iphone is not showing that I own ANY music anymore. It will not sync at all with my Itunes ever since downloading ios5. It states my computer is not authorized but it is...... I had no problems with my ipad, all of my music transferred just fine. I have no idea what to do now with my iphone except maybe a restore???
You all are much smarter than me. ;-) Can you help? Thank you.

Guys, I found another user and what he said to do worked!!! I have copied the information below:
This was 1 of the things that happend to me too, the other one was that at the bottom of the itunes page were it says all the memory info, it marked that I had over 3gb of other memory wich I didn't.
Anyways what I did was to unmark the calendar, contacts etc. ( so that they wont sync with the computer ), pressed apply,  then I marked all of them again, apply again and for last I pressed Sync wich is at the bottom right coner by the apply botton.
I'm not sure that had anything to do with it but it worked, my music appeard both of my itunes playlists and the ones I bought in itunes.  Also the other memory dissapeard and it's all good.
I'm not sure this will help you but thats my 5 cents, if the problem continues its better to call customer service and ask for a technician.
Hope your problem gets solved. Have a nice day.

  • Applications from my iTunes are NOT AUTHORIZED to sync with my iPhone

    Hi all, I need help!
I had bought a new MacBook and while I downloaded some new applications in my new comp in the iTune store and try sync-ing them into my iPhone3G that had been previously sycn-ed with my ex-Mac computer, it pop-ed up a screen saying:
"Some of the applications in your iTunes library were not installed on the iPhone because you are NOT AUTHORIZED for them on this computer."
it happens on all 11 x applications I had downloaded. How come it says it is not Authorized??? And so, how can I make it work? Do I have to restore my phone with the new laptop to make them sync?

Thanks!!! it's now working and syncing !!

  • Why is iTunes repeatedly saying that the comp is not authorized to sync with my iPhone despite having repeated the steps to authorize it??

iTunes does not sync with my iPhone; saying that the comp has not been authorized to. It suggests that i authorized it by going to Store > Authorize This Computer. I did exactly that, and it still refuses to sync.
I'm not able to sync my music, videos, photos, etc as a result.
This occurred after i had synced my iPhone to another comp in another location recently.
    Please help!

iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases

  • Ringtone not authorizing for syncing

I downloaded 3 songs today and purchased ringtones for them. Initially they did not sync to my iphone, and I read to authorize the computer. I did that and 2 of the 3 finally synced. Then I read further in trouble shooting to enable "show hidden folders" (or whatever it was) and to delete an SC folder elsewhere then reboot. I did that and went to authorize the computer again and it still is saying that the comp is already authorized but on syncing the phone I am prompted that I need to authorize to listen to the last ringtone. I'm out of ideas on how to fix this now, and being my first attempt at making a tone flopped and I purchased it too short then made another purchase, I've already paid for this ringtone multiple times. I just need to get it to my phone now.

I just had the same thing. I purchased a song, then made a ringtone for iPhone and purchased that. Then went to sync and it said "Not synced because you are not authorized to play that song on this computer." Huh? This is the only computer I have. Maybe because the ringtone is for the iPhone, not for my computer? How do I get it on my iPhone after going to all the trouble to make one correctly?

  • Not Authorized to Sync some songs

Whenever I sync my iPhone all but 13 songs get sync'ed. The message says some of the items were not copied because this computer is not authorized. I followed directions that said to got to "STORE" and authorize this computer but that didn't work. To be clear the iPhone is new and the carrier is also new. This problem pre-dates the iPhone and started when I got a new computer.
So, I have a new computer (6 months)
    new carrier, 2 weeks
    new device (iPhone) 1 week

  • Not authorized to use my purchased music on secondary computer.

Alright, to make this as easy as possible I am going to try to give every detail of this problem of mine. I have been unsuccessful in solving this problem and it is really annoying.
On my laptop I have iTunes. Everything in my library was purchased from iTunes. I have always used the same account, I have changed the email address in the account settings once before, which in turn changed my apple ID. All my music works fine on my iPod touch as well.
I have a new desktop computer with iTunes that I just bought. So, I plugged in my iPod after signing in with my apple ID and authorizing my computer. Most of my items sync and play just fine, yet a lot of them refuse to be transferred to my new computer. I get an error message stating that there are "100 plus errors" saying that I am not authorized to have some of the music on my computer.
When I go back to my laptop(which everything works just fine on) I clicked "get info" on a song that would not transfer to my new computer and it says my old email as the account that purchased it. I thought that I should go back to the computer with the problem, change the account info again to my old email, authorize the computer, and switch back to my old email. That did not work. I am very frustrated, if anyone at all could help me, I would really appreciate it.
And if you don't get what I am saying just ask me to clarify.
    -Lawson

Actually, there is no such thing as "not authorized to have some of the music on my computer." Authorization is about playing DRM-protected songs, not about having a copy someplace.
You have two different things going on.
First, the iPod is supposed to be able to transfer purchased songs from one computer to another, but in your case it is tripping on certain songs. I suggest you copy the problem song files from the old computer to the new computer by some other means, such as a USB flash drive.
Once they are on the new computer, authorize iTunes to the account(s) from which they were originally purchased. Add them to the iTunes library and make sure they play. If there is still a problem, contact iTunes Customer Service.
