IPhone Not Remembering "Skipped" Tracks
Hardware involved: iPhone 4 & MacBook Pro i5 (2010)
I recall, back when we got our first 2G iPhones in 2007, that the iPod app had problems with remembering Last Played meta data. Consequently, when synced backed to iTunes, songs that had been listened to were not being marked as played. Eventually that issue was resolved with an iOS update.
However, I'm now having a similar problem with the "Last Skipped" criteria. When a song plays that I decide to "skip" I hit the Next / Fast Forward button (>>I) to skip to the next song. The iPhone appears not to "remember" that the song has been skipped.
As a result, once the iPhone is synced with iTunes, any Smart Playlists that rely on the "Last Skipped" criteria do not work. In fact, the most recently skipped song in iTunes is from last Sept 2010.
Anyone else experiencing this or have a suggestion on how to resolve this issue? Thanks
i just want to clarify - when you say you sync twice a day, is the second sync immediately after the first?
i was having the same issue with smart playlists based on playcount. the playlist would not auto-update on the phone, but after syncing with my computer, the playcounts would update and then my playlists would update. this aggrivated me to no end as there was no way to remember which song i listened to, and after posting on here, an extremely awesome user gave me the solution which is still working for me.

gota problem with listening to audiofiles in Iphone - Some folders play fine others start to play -about 2 - 5 seconds then skip to the next and the next until end of the album . However other folders from exactly the same original download play fine on Iphone , All of them play well on my intel IMac The format I think is Mpeg -1 audio files . Phoned Apple support in Uk they were not aware of problem . Any ideas?Welcome to the forums.
Some folks have reported some skipping issues but nothing consistent yet. I'd certainly try resetting the phone and, if that doesn't work, a complete restore. Let us know if the problem continues after that. -
IPhone not remembering custom spelling when typing.
Since 2.0 came out the iPhone no longer remembers custom words. Before, when you typed a word, such as a place name for example, that the iphone incorrectly thought was misspelt you could simply tap on the word and it would add it to the dictionary. Sometimes it will remember for the current session but as soon as you go to a different app or out to home and back it seems to forget. This functionality has been broken since 2.0 on my iPhone and my iPod touch and 2.1 does not seem to fix the problem either. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to get it to remember custom words? Any help would be appreciated.
I have the same problem too, but I dont know if it's because of 2.0; i have the 3G one and now i'm on 2.1
No matter how many times you type "wat", it will always suggest 'War', 'Way' or something. Just irritating when they claim it is suppose to do that. And it's not just "wat", there's liek a bunch of words i always use, but never got stored at all. -

I can connect my iphone to my motorola s805 a2dp headphones just fine... the only problem is that I can't skip tracks using just the headphones. Changing the volume works fine, just wondering if anyone has any idea why this may be the case?
The skip function works fine when connected to itunes via my laptop, or to other phones... It just ****** me off because it sort've defeats the purpose of having the wireless headphones if I need to use the phone to skip track anyway. Grr.

When buying it, I already knew that the A2DP protocol was in the iPhone but not activated. Could not wait for the next OS, so I bought it.
Plus you can use it in flight mode or disconnect the iphone bluetooth.
Other option would be to wait for OS 4.0 or 5.0 !

iPhone 5 UK iOS 7.0.2 music app - when skipping tracks (or even selecting tracks) volume slider slides to maximum volume by itself intermittently. I have noticed with EU Volume Limit 'ON' in music settings or Volume limiting 'on' this behaviour occurs. I've turned off volume limiting and now it appears to work normally.
I did restore as new iPhone via iTunes at iOS 7.0 and had this behaviour followed by update to iOS 7.0.2 via iTunes and same problem.
I can't decide if this is a hardware or software problem?

This is terrible, and especially a pain when they're things like limited edition albums where tracks are only available direct, so going for iTunes match is not gonna help.
Only other variable to consider is that I installed the "Groove" app to try out a few weeks ago, and played music with it twice. Highly doubt this is related, however non-iTunes purchased tmusic tracks also show up there and now *crash the phone* when I try to play them so it's something system-wide. -
I bought an iPhone 4 from a youngster who had put his own Apple ID on it but could not remember the password. I backed it up yesterday and restored to my new iPhone and it copied the Apple ID across too. Now I have 2 phones with it on. Anything I do?

when you start using iCloud on any iOS device and enable find my iPhone, this prevents a new user from using it, and also prevents anyone from using the phone
as it is locked to previous owners account ,this is also the case if when a phone is lost or stolen.
the only way around this is to have the previous owner reset their apple id by going to @ applied.apple.com
if they are unable to do this, then the only other way around this is to have the previous owner get a copy of their original receipt and call apple support who can then lift this lock if they get a copy of the receipt

When I sync recently bought albums to my iPhone I get duplicated tracks. How can I resolve this. The duplicated tracks do not appear in my itunes library, just on my iPhone.
It seems to happen with songs that were purchased before synchronizing the new iPhone
I will tell you how I fixed it.
Note: I have iTunes in spanish so I will try to translate and figure out the commands that appear on ITunes in english. I will put my translations into brackets. English is not my native language. I will do my best.
The workaround is:
1.- Dragg no working songs from iTunes to a folder on the hard disk. (Only for backup purposes)
2.- Deleted those songs from iTunes library.
3.- On the left panel in ITunes click on "Purchased" under the STORE option. All your purchased songs will appear on the right panel
4.- At the bottom and right there is the option : "Download Previous Purchases". Click there.
5.- Click on the option "Are not in my Library" (top right)
6.- The songs you deleted from iTunes will appear.
7.- Downloaded them again. (You have the option to download at the bottom right)
8.- Syncronize your iPhone and that's all. -
Well my iphone 5 does not remember my home network. This is not a problem with the wifi router as the ipad works absolutely fine. The wifi loses it connection in just 2 minutes. So could you please fix this problem.
Not unless the modem is causing a problem.
What you want to do is get it to work reliably over Ethernet first, then tackle wifi. Power off the modem. On your macbook, delete the Ethernet configuration and the Wifi configuration. Power up the modem, then connect the mac via Ethernet. Create the new Ethernet configuration and see if you can connect. -

I have my iPhone 4s backed up on my mac but it seems it was encrypted with a password which i do not remember is there any other option to retrieve to the backup without restoring the device as a new one. Also I do not have access to a windows system.
Sorry no, if you don't knnow the encrypted password, then you can't use that backjup.

My iphone 6 turned off while i was using face time and it returns with the screen saying Hello mean its reset automatically how is this possible ?
